UMMMM....WHERE ARE ALL THE NEDERLAND FANS??
Brubaker replied to pakronos's topic in High School Football
8 is a sophomore and had lingering affects of a concussion from the previous week against Vidor. He probably shouldn't have played. 14 is a Junior and was in a walking boot less than two weeks ago due to a high ankle sprain. Finesser, you are telling the truth about the Nederland D, they have some game and tackle well. We just got the boot up the keister in the first quarter and that's tough to recover from against a team as talented as PAM. -
PAM won the toss Friday and deferred to Nederland. If you think your defense is the strength of your team, you can still score first by pinning them deep and controlling field position early. I don't think Neumann defers when he has the option, with the intention of playing from behind.

In all seriousness, I'm glad some of em are being quiet, it was getting embarrassing for a while there. Going OBJr on the board. -

Concussed, limping, planning Friday tailgate, some are thinking of next excuses, and some are verifying PAM enrollment #'s... that covers it. -
LAST TIME DAYTON AND NEDERLAND MISSED PLAYOFFS
Brubaker replied to HurricaneCal's topic in High School Football
Livingston should get to 4-4 with wins over Lee and Ozen. Nederland has a chance to get to 4 wins with wins over Central or PNG and Lumberton/Ozen. Nederland is by no stretch out of the race, but they have an APB out for anyone within the city limits who could line up healthy under center. I heard even their stud freshman QB broke his collarbone. -
I would much rather play PAM down just 400 or 500 kids, than the 800 or 900 that George Ranch had us by. PAM doesn't make the rules, they've been on the short end of them for a while and now they will get a few years of being the larger enrollment. Folks just need to focus on football here? Don't get caught up in things that confuse you from playing your best football.

Question about PAM's student numbers regarding football
Brubaker replied to PA4Real's topic in High School Football
Personnel wise, absolutely no one. -
PNG's 99 team was very special. Nederland's 99 team was very special as well and got steam rolled that night. Nederland's 99 teams only other loss was in the regional final to the eventual state champion in a hard fought contest. During that season they also soundly beat WOS who beat PNG that year. Sometimes matchups make the game. To say the Nederland 99 team wasn't special just to make a point about rankings when you look at their total body of work, is pretty ridiculous. When you lose to the State Champ in D1, and the Runner-up in D2, while at the same time making the regional final, I'd say you'd have a fair argument of saying you were one of the top 10 teams in the state at some point. But I'm with you, rankings don't mean much to me, while Dawson was obviously overrated, they were a punishing football team. Nederland limped into that Georgetown game, literally.
-
Of course they had to be overrated if they were ranked 1 all year and the Dogs beat them. They could not have been very good.
-
These are wrong, Jake's 275 is correct, along with the 23 yards passing, just about every publication I saw showed Vidor right at 300 yards of total offense.

Does your school's band play at the right time?
Brubaker replied to TexasPanther2012's topic in High School Football
The Nederland Band is on point and a great asset during the game. They play in the right moments. Good job -

See you in a few weeks.

Yes, Nederland would need to win by about 10ish I'm thinking. I was just saying the advantage is not with Central, it's a toss up at that point.

James runs all my bets, talk with him.

Easy tiger, these just jokes, but I guess I'll stop.

Does this mean we are ready, my English is rusty.

I think you nailed it there with the last statement.
-
If Central finishes 4-4 it will be because Nederland beats them. If Nederland were in that 4-4 tiebreaker, that would likely NOT give Central the advantage.

Vidor will have a very tough time defending PAM. Most of the complaints from Vidor fans on penalties, was the Vidor secondary grabbing on and holding for dear life on just about every pass play. They had major issues with the Nederland receiving corp, PAM might be a little speedier.

Forney has been in school at Nederland since elementary, not sure who #22 is, but don't think he has cracked the starting line-up. Simmons is a move in from out of state, our budget doesn't cover recruiting from that distance. I was just curious if some knew something I didn't. Nobody needs to bait anyone. It was just a question to discuss the issue with some facts, but lets talk about the game. PAM is playing good football and will be tough to beat. I am glad to see Harrison come into his own.

What kids from PA will Nederland be starting Friday? Who are all these PA 2nd teamers? We all know about Leday, which is really an anomaly, I saw this question asked, no one answered. Just curious since there seems to be a lot of ignorance on the subject. Here's the starting Nederland line-up, list all of them that went to school in PA at some point. QB - Lange/Fernandez, RB- Simmons, RB- Lelux, RB- Kingston, WR- Fisher WR- Perkins, WR-Garrett, WR- Guidry, T-Smith, G-Torres, C-Badon, G-Miranda, T-Sanders, DE-Forney, DT-Bourque, DE-Copeland, Lb-Babino, Lb-Spell, DB-Lewis, DB-Hiltz, DB-Celaya, DB-Wistner, DB-Sheppard, DB-Thompson... I may have missed a few. Let's list all these PA transfers

Don't know.
