Im a little shocked at the outcome of this scrimmage. I really thought Nederland would outplay them
Ignorance is bliss I guess.

Seay and Kimler will create nightmare matchups for opposing defenses. And the running game will be their strength.. gonna be a potent offense.
-
Seay, Barton, Mayfield, Albritton Krautz..... will have a lot to say about any decline. And I hear the Nederland incoming freshman class has as much potential as any of these recent classes. Keep wish in though.

PHOTOS : A Look Back At The Spring Games
Brubaker replied to BMTSoulja1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Soulja, at first I thought you were joking about all this Spring game BS, but days and pages later, I must say.... WOW? I can hear Chris Carter now.... ComeOuwnMaaan. You do know that it is not allowed for teams who are not having spring contact to don pads, just because the word "game" is used for a 10am intersquad??? Dude....???? -
Nederland doesn't do spring football because you lose a week before the start of next season if you do, most coaches who have a system implemented would rather the extra scrimmage and time before week zero versus spring practice in pads. The spring game is in football class if I'm correct, and it's not real football til the pads are laced up. No need for media and fans for something like this, it's for the players and coaches to have a little fun at the end of spring workouts. We know what to do in Nederland when the pads are on.

2009... the year Ned started their 4th string qb??? That's what it takes at this point, speaks volumes. Nena had a big hit the year that streak ended... some players today may be asking who the heck is Nena .... exactly.

Summer Creek Domination? Nederland Domination?
Brubaker replied to snafu's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Four of the five are coming back, a tackle, both guards, and the center... who will be one of the best lineman in the district. This is why folks are picking a three peat. And we haven't even gotten to the defensive side of the ball where there will be a lot less of a drop off than people are hoping for. When you start with one of the top defensive lineman in the NATION, it tends to help. -
Nederland will lose 3 games before the end of district. Haines, Raynes, Froot-of-the looms or whatever his name is was their offense. He's gone. They lost their defence and Vidor controls their ticket sales. ;)
Offensively, it's going to be tough for Nederland this year. Do they pound Hopkins, or do they pound Barton who could start for anybody else in this district... or do they give it to the soph Krautz who will have everyone shaking their head when it's all said and done??? Or do they just say screw handing it to anyone and let Seay wild dog it? Or do they split Seay and Kimler, and Krautz out and fling it around? Man Nederland is in a bind offensively this year, I can see where you're coming from Babe. -

*Vidor at Nederland Updates*/Nederland wins 3-1

Critter you're posting scores from tournaments when pitching staffs dig deep to test arm. Please post the district scores and other than the 8-1 Ned win, I think you'll find that Vidor has pitched pretty well. -
On base percentage includes reaching on an error, so it has the same flaw you identified as batting average and most hits. Plus you have games where guys beat the cover off the ball and have nothing to show for it in hits/avg.

Last I heard they were beating Marshall pretty badly, up by 10 plus. -
Lance is a high quality pitcher and competitor, the matchup against Nederland will be very interesting. Nederland's team chemistry appears to be a strong suit along with good pitching and defense, a quality dugout is a key to a special season... Nederland appears to have that... throw in some timely hitting and the Dogs just flat out will be tough to beat. This entire senior class from Nederland just appears to know how to WIN, they are WINNERS, just a special group. No matter who was favored early or what the slate looks like now, I expect them to COMPETE until the last out of the season and I expect that may be a ways out.

What Georgetown returns is probably not the caliber of what Nederland has returning... I take it that this is how the rankings are projected to start for next years season... not how this year ended up? -
What improvements should be made to your schools stadium?
Brubaker replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
They don't need to replace the visitors stands, they need to mofiy it to allow for more access up and down the stands. THere are only two main sets of steps to get to all the seats. -

I agree, I always look at the senior group/leadership... I don't see Barton/Seay... those guys losing. That would mean likely two more for the Dogs, then it would officially get interesting. I think the X-Factor would be the Nederland incoming Freshman/current 8th grade group, they could be something special as well... time will tell. Current Freshman group isn't too shabby, just not as deep and may still lose some to specializing in other sports. One thing for certain, the PNG 8th / Freshman groups are for real, they won't be anybody's whippin boy and will likely be a force regionally.

Folks are on here talking about what's best for the kids, why wouldn't what a kid is seeing/feeling/hearing/experiencing be what's most relevant?
