2. I'm sorry, I don't see how you can look at yalls pre-district schedule and come up with anything but weak! The only football team yall played before two weeks ago was Tenaha! The rest of them have done nothing but lose, to each other even! Don't get me wrong, I can see some advantages to it but, when it comes down to close games it doesn't help out much! As far as peaking out to early, I would tend to agree with you on that. Same thing happened to SA last year. They peaked the night we played Corrigan and just went downhill from there.
 3.
Sa is pretty good, but I am going with Alto in this one.  More balanced and their defense isn't bulletproof.  WS, who was with out their best RB most of the game, moved the ball on them pretty effectively only punting two times.  Alto is more physical and bigger than SA is on the line.  They will run right at SA and pound the ball taking a lot of clock.  I believe Alto's defense is better than SA's offense who overall struggled against the WS defense scoring on a few blown coverages that Alto won't give up.  It will be a good one that could go either way, but I have to pick one, and thats is where Im leaning after seeing both teams.
I wonder why that starting RB was sitting out? They never scored but only punted twice. That sounds like a lot of 4th down conversions that didn't happen! This will be the toughest game that SA has had to play all year! They need to make sure that they are ready mentally when they step out on the field friday night. If they go to work and play football like they're capable of they will be fine! Sr night, possibly the last Varsity game ever played on the current field, and the District Championship on the line...........What do you think?
 4.
welp, didnt see this one coming either
That's ok, your coin just leaned the wrong way! When you play a cush schedule like WS has played it doesn't do much to prepare you for teams like SA and Alto! IMO the refs did a pretty good job of letting these two teams play ball last night. Good job Wolves, now time to play for that District Championship!
 5. It's just coming full circle. Kind of like last year when our RB went down near the end zone and after the play there was a pirate twisting on his leg trying to tear his knee up. When the RB came up and said something SA got the penalty. There are always going to be bad calls. Nothing you can do about it. Congratulations on the win and good luck next week.
 6. Every 1A team in TX has had to defend one reciever that could catch a long bomb. Just ask WS how that worked out for them tonight!
 7. Wolf Pack Defense looked awesome tonight. The only points scored were on special teams.  Congratulations to the Wolves on their Win!
 8. UIL should be ashamed of theirselves for leaving one of yall at home! Yalls district must feel your getting a participation ribbon when you make it to the playoffs!
 9.
The weather shows cooler temps and possible rain for Friday....  If so, how will that effect each team?  Fumbles could kill either team!!  Up until last week WS had been good at protecting the ball and as we all know a wet football is much harder to protect.
It will definitely change things. I think it goes without saying that you won't see the ball in the air near as much! The game between WS and Hemphill I saw the Tigers throw quite a few deep balls. Those will definitely be harder to complete for both teams!
 10.

West Sabine is still focused and confident. A good game against Alto is nothing to hang their heads about. The district championship is not out of reach for the Tigers. I thought early on that this district could easily end up a three way tie between SA, WS, and Alto. I'm pulling for West Sabine, an old district rival of HD. I see it: West Sabine - 36 San Augustine - 29
Have you seen Sa?  What makes you think that sa will lose at home?  So you think that sa will lose to Ws but beat alto?  Smh...just stick to hd...they arent even on the same level.  Never have...never will be.
You're right, I haven't seen San Augustine. They may be way better than I think, and I do think they are a very good team. They beat Deweyville who handed HD a butt whippin. I think that West Sabine could have easily beat Alto and it wasn't like it was a blowout and not close. I think all three teams have their weaknesses and all three can be beat. SA may whip up on the Tigers and Yellowjackets for all I know, but my opinion is that San Augustine is over-rated and the third best team in that district. Not that that is a bad thing, considering all three of those teams are top 15 in the state in my opinion. I honestly hope San Augustine beats West Sabine and then loses to Alto so we get the Wolves in the playoffs. Anyone who thinks this is the same ole' Hull-Daisetta from years past that will lose in the first round by 40 is sadly mistaken. Ask Lovelady, Normangee, or Groveton how physical HD is, and they weren't even playing up to their full potential in those games. You guys from district 10 will be in for a heck of a suprise when you face HD.  Good luck to both teams friday night and Go Tigers!!
Not trying to be ugly but be careful what you wish for!
 11. This has been awfully quiet! What's up with that?
 12. I think Defenses will be the key this week! Both Offenses have proven that they are able to score. I think SA has the better Defense. It will definitely be worth the price of admission!
 13.
WS has alot more speed than some of the guys you played..........WS will rebound in a close one 36-28
SA has had alot of problems over the years, but can anyone ever remember speed being an issue? If SA shows up with mentally prepared this week, they will be succesful!
 14. Just wondering, what goal did yall have friday other than beating Alto?
 15.
West Sabine beat themselves.  The only ones that stopped the WS offense was WS.  The best running back in the district is #12 from WS as he showed it, #15 from alto could not catch him tonight in a foot race.  WS put themselves in a bad postion that got them out of their game.  The two TD pass plays that Alto completed to #15 were on blown coverages, nothing to do with speed.  Lacey had an off night throwing the ball which happens to all at some time.  He had #4 wide open on the first play of the game but made a error on the throw to the wrong shoulder.  Alto played well, but WS can beat them if they meet again in the playoffs.  Alto is very good and hats off to them.  Tigers are even more fired up now for SA.  Wolves better watch out.  To quote and admiral from Japan in WW2, all Alto may have done is to awaken a sleeping giant.  But only time will tell.
Get through licking those wounds before you call somebody else out! Because this year, I will step out on a limb here and say that SA probably hits harder than Alto. See yall next week! I guess that 3 degrees of seperation theory is shot! Oh, and didn't Japan end up on the losing end of that little skirmish?
 16. SA 35 Dragons 12. Final. Good win for the Wolves. Now to get ready for next week!
 17. Your excused. We did beat Hemphill by more points than yall did ;)! That's not a contradiction! What I find amusing is this we beat somebody that beat somebody that beat yall comment. That's hilarious! Not even comparing game for game. Just random thoughts bound together with a we're not worried about Alto comment! All in fun, Good Luck to both teams and safe travels. Somebody keep us posted on the score.
 18. One thing you can't do in HS football is compare scores with common opponents. It may make you feel good that your team beat an opponent by a bigger margin than someone else, but it doesn't prove anything. Teams change from week to week and no two games are the same. So I wouldn't put much faith in how WS has already beaten Alto by 3 degrees of seperation (Groveton beat Alto, S-ville beat Groveton, WS beat S-ville).  Still got to show up and earn it!
 19. Playoffs will be fun to watch! Especially all the crow that gets eaten in the first round. Or the 2nd if HD can manage to win that loaded district!
 20. You don't have to ask. I said earlier that win, lose,or draw you can count on Alto bringing the hat. I honestly don't think that the Tigers have been hit all season like they will be this week (and next).
 21.
Jesse,     Did y'all finally get smart in SA and put a muzzle on TheWolverine and jlc, haven't heard a peep from either of them this week????  lol......    How are the two young men that were injured from SA last week doing??
Let sleeping dogs lie...........lol! The guys are doing good. I think they will probably play it safe and rest them this week. They should be ready next week though.
 22. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I can tell how good Hemphill and Twine was by their record. These next 3 weeks will tell alot about these three teams. I can't say anything about Alto beacuse I haven't seen them play. They are always tough though. The only WS game I watched was against Hemphill and they let a very anemic Hornet team score over 40 points against them. As far as Sa goes, They have improved dramatically since 0 week. We do have a bunch of Srs. back this year but there are a bunch of those kids that are having to play positions that some of them have never played before this year. They are starting to gel very well on both sides of the ball. All three of these matchups should definitely be worth watching.
I agree. Will be a serious test for WS. Alto's QB and RB will be probably the most athletic we will face all season. The team that executes the best will be the victor of this one...........
Maybe not all season.........Hubbard probably runs the ball harder than Davis did last year, Taylor is like trying to catch lightning, don't forget about Thomas he'll sneek one in on you when your not looking, plus when Tanner decides to tuck the ball and run he makes you sorry that you stepped in the way, oh yea and we have Davis' little brother who showed some awesome break away speed last week against Grapeland! (That's just on Offense) This should be a really good game! I'm interested to see how both teams perform in this one. Good Luck and safe Travels!
I've sen SA this year, Alto is just as athletic as SA, only difference is mostly all SA are Srs. and Alto's is Jr./Sophs. Alto's QB/RB tandem are pretty talented, don't forget those big/fast WR's on outside either!
There will definitely be some games worth watching in this district the next few weeks!

 25.
Sorry, Wildcat, you're wrong on this one. I know Justin's parents, and nobody is dictating to them what to do. Thank you, Mary, for looking out for the interest of Justin. I truly miss seeing him run the football on Friday nights, but my first concern is his health. I hope he can come back and finish the season, but it's certainly not worth risking a more serious injury. What kind of parent would let their son play football if the doctor said no?  That's what I thought. :)
I agree with you. It's hard enough keeping an athlete healthy for one sport, much less two or three. Let's be honest, every team that plays Hemphill knows that if they take can put Justin Twine on the bench that their chances of winning go up a bunch! That's a lot of pressure to put on one mans shoulders evry friday! IMO it's a small miracle that he hasn't been injured before now. I hope he has a speedy recvovery and wish him well in whatever he decides to do.
