Come-on 19 4a you need to pick up the slack. Mainly talking to Crosby, Humble and sc because we all know bh won't at least not in football.
Its a fact that 19-4A is a much tougher district now so beware 20-4A ;D
I smell a repeat, 20-4A=3 wins and 19-4A=1 (Dayton saves the sweep again ;D ;D :o :o ??? ???)
nope, i think Dayton finally slips up this year(streaks can't last forever). 20-4A completes the sweep. But look on the bright side, BH wont even be in the playoffs this year.
] Does this make you feel better? Simulated game Ned vs Vidor. Ned Vidor Ozen PNG/Livingston Does anyone have a count down???? How many days to we kick off?
I love that website lol. But one problem. That doesn't have this year team so you can't get a real simulation of this year lol. BTW may i add that the game is at Boneyard this year. 8)
For now, we can only live in the past....how many more days do we have to wait???? I can't wait til we get to travel to the boneyard...it will be a good one, for sure. Let me say this, that will be a good measure for each program. 20 4 a is set for a classic season. I do predict Ned on top; however, I know that injuries and obstacles can detour any team and 20 4A is NO cake walk. No one should ever be underestimated in 20 4A FOOTBALL except LCM (FootBall ONLY, baseball is a different story and WHY in the heck can't they put those talented ball players on their football team - that is another million dollar question everyone always wants to know about LCM....!!!!) ;)
126 days until the District opener. Nederland @ Vidor Sept 28th 7:30 p.m.

This is the first year! ;D
you should be more concerned with getting to the playoffs this year considering your new additions! and 20-4A completes the sweep this year! 8)
Love your enthusiasm but you cant use Doomsday D. Dallas may get upset. ;D On a side note, and seriously, alot of talent is not always good. Especially if it creates rivalries within.
I have heard of the one mentioned here on the boards and a friend told me that he heard of another. initially i thought this was who he was talking about. maybe he is misinformed. never the less, anyone that has played ball and was the established starter one season and odds on favorite for the next, will naturally feel threatened by someone new coming in that plays their position and is supposed to be very good. once again, i'm not saying this is the case here.
Look at the consistency of play-off runs by 20-4A teams for the past 20 years. Respect is earned by that record. It is so tiring to read the same type of responses on here year after year. Show respect towards teams that have earned and displayed true player and coaching talent over SEVERAL years, respect will come for the teams that are still trying to prove they can make it to the playoffs two, three or even five years in a row. Several teams such as Nederland, PNG and Central have traveled a long hard road to get where we are in our program and we sure didn't achieve it in a season or two with only one or two classes with talented players. I know I am ready to see Nederland move deeper into playoffs than just 3 rounds. (We have been 3 rounds several years in the past) I truly believe that we are moving in the right direction this year, especially with our accomplishments from last year make for a lot to build from. I also noticed that in the past 10 years or so of playoff runs, I have seen Central, LCM, Ozen and PNG fans(more than any other school) come out and suport us. That is true respect shown. A bunch of Nederland fans went and supported Vidor in Bi-District round when they played Dayton (I think 3 years ago). That is more than I can say for the good supporting folks of Vidor, which I have NEVER seen at one of our playoff games (Curious to know if they do that to anyone else). Lumberton falls short on supporting the area teams as well, so your not alone Vidor. I will continue to support all of our 20-4A teams inspite what other fan bases say or do. Good luck to all and pray for all the players to have a injury free season. As far as predicting the outcome of 20-4A, have fun with it, but we all know when it comes down to it, NOBODY knows what will actually happen. Of course I am pulling for my DOGS, I honestly believe they have a shot at having the best season this year than they have had in the entire Neuman era at Nederland.
No one is disrespecting Ned. I already stated I have respect for Ned and PNG and always will. And if you didn't see any Vidor fans at Lamar during round 1 when yall played GCM supporting the Bulldogs, then you weren't looking. I know I was their along with a bunch of others. Maybe you didn't notice because our colors are the same. But we were there! And i'm pretty sure there is some talk on the threads that prove we were there.
Seems like the only ones making excuses is vidor, injuries hurt you in the run department, if I ain't mistaken you lost to both of us png and ned. I enjoyed watching y'all play what games I got to see, the defense over there in vidor was tough, they. Made good tackles in the open field and flew to the ball. I haven't seen anyone on here from png say that they were gonna win the title. Everyone knows ned has the target on their back. This paticular png team when they were young wasn't what we fans call spectacular, but I think they have matured and will benefit from bf s offensive scheme, the only thing that keeps me guessing is the defense. I am ready for Friday so I can see for myself! Would love to see some bodies flying to the ball rapping up and letting the wood fly! Soo ready for some football, soulja you gonna come??? Brenhamfan said he may come since the hill sent their coach into early retirement in baseball! Be interesting to get yalls input so I won't be biased in my opinions!
yep, we lost to both of you. both games were a pleasure to watch and you wont here me making excuses. yall made the plays when it counted and we didn't. but that was last year and IF history should repeat itself, i will be here to eat crow. however, it should be a great season, too close too call right now. but Ned has pretty much proclaimed themselves district champs with their BLACK DEATH DEFENSE. if i recall, it was their offense that ultimately beat us and PNG. and like I said, that was last year. I have and always will have respect for both schools but naturally talk smack. AND I EXPECT NOTHING LESS FROM YALL! BH still sux! ;D
First of all, if the 3 offenses are the same then you gotta look at how the teams are doing. If two are successful and one isn't, is it really the offensive scheme that's at fault. What about the other teams that run offenses similar to each other? It's more of a talent thing, the coach works with what he has plain and simple. Sometimes that even means making a drastic change in the offense to capitalize on the talents of certain players. Unfortunately Lumberton seems to have a hard time developing young talented players, losing them to other sports for the most part. What else would explain having one of the premier soccer teams in the area consistently while being middle of the road in other sports. If we had a larger student body to choose from like the bigger 4-A's and had a little less apathy towards sports in general (a huge number of students choose not to participate in extracurricular activities), Lumberton would always be in the mix. We just have to wait for the perfect storm of talents to come along, which they will as they've done recently. As far as the coach, he is an excellent individual who gets the best he can out of what he is presented with. I for one hope he stays in Lumberton for many years in order to actually get a tradition built up. Tradition builds champions, look at how well Nederland (Newman has been there how long?), PNG (talk about tradition overload, they believe they can therefore they can), Vidor (seems to be getting stronger and stronger thanks to having a long term coach). The rest of us tend to be flash fires, a good year or two here then out for awhile. By the way, this is my observation as a long time fan and alumni. I consider myself a huge fan of Lumberton and have had season football tickets for at least 20 years since moving back to Lumberton, I also always make it a point to make it to several of the other sports/school activities every year as well even though my child never went to Lumberton and is twelve years past high school anyway. To me the L-Train will be always the best team in the world win or lose!
good post and you are right. you have to give time for something to develop and take form. some are just too much in a hurry to win now. people with kids playing want to win now and if they don't, then it was the fault of the coaches. sad thing is, once their kid is out of school, they are no longer a fan(some). they don't understand that it takes time to build a program. and as far as possible talent comming in. i'd go as far to say this. if i worked for one of the refineries(or any local business) and was transfering to this area, obviously my choices of a home are vast. if i have a child that is an excellent athelete and has future potential(imo) or just wanted to be a part of a winning program, where do you think i am going to look to live?

If the PNG fans had there way they would just crown themselves state champs and let the rest of us play it out for second and down. I can't wait to see there excuses later on this season. 8)
Kinda like Vidor?? To listen to you guys Vidor won the state Championship last year. Didn't we beat you guys??
Yes you did. And we got caught up in the moment. Can you blame us? You gotta admit though, we gave you a scare at the end.
I guess coach c thought we would be headed into 3a after last year . I think that's why he installed the copycat offense . Don't get to complacent coach. We are still 4A so let's get back to the drawing board and get creative again.
so name an offense that will turn Lumberton around over night and put them in the mix.
Putting this out there, saw some of BH's players at a party, they all know how bad they will suck next year to say the least. These Seniors had no hope for this fall.
if that is true then they have already lost.
No one in Ned ever overlooks PNG All stats, all talent out the window. That MCM game is all about heart. I have watched games either one should have walked away with - go the other way. PNG is always a force to be reckoned with. They have a few weakness on their V next year. Fact. However, they will compensate as they always have done in the past. Great fans, great tradition. Ned has target on back next season. Rightfully so. Prediction -they will rise to the challenge, overcome obstacles and achieve greatness. These kids stick together and embrace a challenge. I know a great # of them and I see men in the making of character and champions. Lots to look forward to in Nederland next fall. I don't if anyone senses the 20 4 A season is one of those special years when everything will be a challenge and worth the fight. Every so often, 20 4 A has a lot to look forward and I sense the anticipation rising, not only in Nederland but across the District. ;D
or any other team in district which is why I previously asked where all the talk of PN-G being underestimated came from.

I'm not from 19-4A and don't know all the teams as well as some and especially the new ones from 18-4A. So, i watched some films yesterday of some particular games of interest and based on defenseive and offensive shemes compared to like opponents, this is my opinion as of now. it is subject to change after the season begins and players not revealed come to light. 1)Dayton 2)Summer Creek 3)Kingwood Park t-4)Barbers Hill/Crosby
