Always has been and always will.
Love it!
Too bad its not true, but it's nice to be ignorant I guess 8)
Yes we know... You experience being it on a daily basis.
Only when I read your post! It's like you start getting ignorant through osmosis ;D
Dayton STILL reigns supreme in district 19... and ALWAYS will ;D
3rd Place is not reigning supreme, but if 3rd is the best then yall kick butt in most sports ;D
Hey BHFAN when was the last time yall won a playoff game?
Oh and wasn't this Vidors first playoff win in 40 something years?? Have you ever won district in football?
Your right. It was our first playoff win in 47 years but we made it two rounds deeper than you have ever made it and you've made the playoffs 3 or 4 times in the past 10 years. I'll take that. May i say CHOKE ARTISTS!!!!!!!!! 8)
Ya might want to do some research before you post ;D BH has two State Championships and went to round 3 in 99' they have been to the second round 3 times since 2000. Congrats on your 47 year acomplishment LOL ;D
And you still lost to a team we beat. Correction. You lost to 2 teams that we both beat. 8)
And what year did BH move up to 4-A from 3-A? That round 3 and those 2nd rounds they were in 3-A right? How many times you been there in 4-A?
That would be a big FAT ZERO ;D It took yall 30 years in 4A to do something just give us time ;D we have only been here 6 years and been to the playoffs 4 of those with two district championships! If you don't think that BH will find success in 4A just sit back and watch 8)
They might consider changing their mascot from "Pirates" to "Comets" since they make the playoffs every 100 years.
LOL :D I can see Vp32 sitting under the Trinity River Bridge talking to his grand kids. VP32 .. Ok kids this is a big day! Grand Kids... Oh yea grand paw why VP32... 47 years ago during this exact time of year i witnessed a Vidor ISD bus cross the Trinity River on its way to a playoff game. Grand Kids.... They win a playoff football game!!! Grand Kids... why does this only happen every 47 years VP32.. no one knows!! But we call it the Vidor Coment ;D
HA!HA!HA! NOT! To me, discipline starts in your home and as you play sports and are under your coach, he continues to instill those values into you when you are on that field representing your team/community.
No they don't. The most recent being the player from Detroit. Fined and suspended for 2 games and it wasn't for fighting. And then their is the Bills player fined for an endzone celebration.
My point about the whole NFL thing is that "typically" they do not get a suspension. The whole thing with Suh was a completly different story. He stomped on the GB players arm and deserved the punishment he got. They have been getting fined for "excessive celebration" for years now which to me is crazy to fine them for that. Just like Jared Allen with the Vikings and his celebration he does after he sacks a QB, he can still do it, but he can't go to his knees and do it or he gets fined. Fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, etc., needs to have tougher punishments. My point was, these boys watch these men in the NFL and these days the NFL players are not setting the best example in football anymore.
Alot of them haven't been for quite awhile now. Keep in mind that your avg. nfl player is in their mid to late 20's and has probably not quite grown up yet themselves(and has a big bank account now). It's kinda obvious whichones don't ya think! The example needs to be set through parents, teachers and coaches. We should be the ones preparing our children and showing them how to act as they grow up. Not some one on TV.
Yes, I know most of them are young. And in my original post I said the following, "To me, discipline starts in your home and as you play sports and are under your coach, he continues to instill those values into you when you are on that field representing your team/community." I agree with you that someone on TV should not teach these things. BUT look at who you are talking about, TEENS and YOUNG KIDS that look up these NFL players and "want to be like them". If one of my kids did something like this, they wouldn't want to even think about their punishment. Period.
And I agree with your points as well. And trust me, my sons last worry wouldn't be what the UIL or school was going to do. But now that I think about it, it's not just NFL players.
Exactly and I agree with your point as well. It seems as though the days of respect are slowing flying out of the window and it makes my skin crawl to see a child or an adult for that matter disrespect anybody. All I have to do is look in my kids direction when they are doing something they know they should not and it's an instant fear of, "oh crap, I better stop." LOL
lol! Nothin wrong with that. Both my sons (before they became teens) use to cry when I gave them "THE LOOK". Now, they think twice and ask questions. -

HJ football fans deserve better
dustoff03 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yep, HJ is a basketball school. Like posters have said, they start training those kids at a very early age, right along with baseball, tennis, and golf. I honestly dont know about the football kids. Do they have a flag/tackle league in HJ? Vidor is a football school. Always has been. Vidor starts kids at about 5 years old in football and baseball. Vidor doesnt have a Little Dribblers program, so there isnt any organized basketball until jr high school. Its no small wonder why the Pirates struggle on the hardwood. As to the poster who said that 300 or more fans at every game for the Pirates while playing basketball, I would say, not this year. More like 150 and when your place holds 1500 it looks awful empty. But Vidor has never supported a losing basketball team, ever. Winning puts butts in the seats. Simple as that. I would suggest that those folks in HJ who want a good football program to be rabid supporters of their program, win or lose. Encourage your kids to get involved at an early age and stay involved no matter what the record is....course, if a kid doesnt like football or otherwise doesnt want to play, thats fine too. Just support your high school teams, whether its football, basketball, volleyball, right on down the line. Those kids work hard, or, are supposed to, so go out and support them. Fill the stands no matter what the record or the weather. Great expectations with hard work equals great results.
What about Upward Bound? -

Now Enjun the reason I think Quirante is the MVP of the district is you have to ask yourself this question. Could Jakobi do what Quirante did and vice versa. IMO anything Jones did Quirante could do if he was in his position. I mean q had 1000+ yards rushing (that's only 400 behind Jones) and still passed for almost 400 AND lead the team in tackles AND had one interception AND punted 4 times this year. Now ask yourself this. Could Jakobi Jones do all that? . .. ... .... ..... .... ... .. . And that is why i think Quirante deserved the MVP title.
Shoulda, woulda, coulda - who's to say that Jones couldn't have done that had he been put in the position to have to? You can't and I definitely can't and I won't try to. Trust me I'm not knocking Quirante because he is one among many. HONESTLY I don't have to ask myself that question because I wasn't in the position to vote. Now if you want, we can start a poll on here for MVP that way our votes and opinions will count. Not sure that that vote will have any impact on whoever wins because it's just our opinions and we won't put a small 2x1 picture in the Beaumont Enterprise.
Your a lil late man. Already did that lol. Montana is still leading the votes.
It doesn't matter who votes on this. There is always going to be people that disagree and don't like some or all of the results.
