Yes, I am referring to the LM vrs Oz game. The first incident (fourth quarter) was two players in a he said she said pushing match on the Ozen side line. However, a few more Ozen players joined the fracas either as close observers or participants ( I could not see the details clearly) and The LaMarque bench wrongfully emptied to the Ozen side. This skirmish was halted by the coaches from both teams very quickly. The game ended with very little emotion from either side. Actually, I observed (sitting on the LaMarque side) that players from both teams especially Ozen were smiling and offering congrats in a friendly manner. LaMarque appeared to graciously accept the comments. At that time I noticed that a Ozen player was trying to interupt the line in the middle of the field (#6) and an Ozen coach was really trying to man handle him away from the still hand shaking line. The coach appeared to pull him from the line but the player then (along with others) then moved to block the LaMarque teams exit to the dressing rooms. It was at this point that the teams collided and all heck broke loose. It would be impossible for me to watch the number of altercations and crowds of players and policemen and be accurate in stating who started and who stopped....... However, I will accurately note that the police seemed way more to concentrate on the Ozen individuals and still photos appear to verify that fact. I think it is important to note that much of the activity was at the LaMarque exit, leaving one to wonder why Ozen would have been located there and considering who won and who lost...well????? As I stated, the films will appear and better observations than mine will be easy to establish. Meanwhile raging back and forth on these sites is all it is.....raging back and forth on these sites.
This is exactly what i explained earlier, but apparently they need to hear it from someone NOT in coognation. Ozen players ended up fight near la marque's side. How could that happen if they were suppose to be going the other direction.
This topic has it's own thread. This one is LM VS MANVEL
 2. Good job Baytown PD! For those believing they were out of line, just imagine your child getting hit in the head by a helmet while a cop stood by and watched. Bet you'd have a different opinion then. And quit blaming the kids. I am a former MARINE of 10 years and served this country in two capaigns. Believe me when I say both of my sons are very well disciplined. But they too as well as anybody has a breaking point. The key is to remove one of the elements of a pending fire. This did not happen. The officials and coaches added the fuel to the fire by not controlling the situation that everyone saw comming. And why on earth would you want to proceed with the handshake is beyond me. That was like adding dynamite to the fire. Never the less, It happened, it's over, now let the appropriate officials take the neccessary actions. Ozen, you had a great season and Goodluck to LM in round 4.
PearOrchardPanther01 Oh my dear I really do feel your pain, but to report that one-sided story of yours is just delusional.  I would expect that type of behavior from children but not from adults.  I was at the game and I did not hear any trash talking from La Marque (not saying there wasn't any, but I didn't hear it).  After the very first play of the game, I saw an Ozen player push a La Marque player when the play was over and the immediately put his hands in the air as if to say I did not do anything wrong.  No penalty was called.  This continued throughout the entire game as you (and UIL) will see when you review the game.  I repeat, Ozen were the aggressors the entire game.  The Ozen coaching staff did nothing to stop the unsportsman like behavior.  They knew that they were going to loose the game and would just use that same old so called "reputation" line.  La Marque has played all season and through the second round of the playoffs without incident.  Shame on everyone who has posted on this board and citing "reputation". The officials also did nothing to prevent the brawl.  No penalties were called the entire game and this gave the Ozen team the go ahead to keep pushing the La Marque players after the plays were clearly over.  La Marque has had the experience of the playoff season and would not display such petty behavior that could potentially end their playoff run.  I know that it was the intentions of the Ozen team to provoke La Marque into such a position so that they would be ejected from the playoffs.  I'm so glad for game tapes!!!  Now I must say that Ozen players did a very good job while they were actually playing the game.  They are really talented, especially the QB,  but the children need to be taught to be truthful and not to be sore loosers as all the adults there are teaching them.  Ozen should feel very accomplished to have made it to the playoffs and played a 24-4A Championship team such as the La Marque Cougars.  They should not be ashamed of the loss.  Hope to see Ozen next year.  Maybe they have learned how to behave in the playoffs and we will enjoy a much more sportsmanship like game.  P.S.  It really would help if the adults come to terms with the loss first.
I agree for sure...but sometimes when adrenaline is running high...they act before they think. Ozen seems like a very disciplined team to me.
It all starts with the parents and then the coaches.  I don't think we really have any teams in this immediate area that play dirty.
Watch the WOS/Columbus game. WOS showed great discipline and composure when Columbus was actually trying to hurt players and being encouraged by their coaches.
WOS has always been a pretty classy team, so that isn't surprising.  I'm not familiar with Columbus, but something should be done if that is true.  They are just kids and in the grand scheme of things, none of this really means anything.  If someone were to injure my child on purpose, they better hope they can run fast endlessly...
Last I heard, the UIL was going to look into the matter. Their wasn't even a handshake after the game.

 14.
I believe in college and definitely in the NFL, if you leave the bench to fight, you would be immediately thrown out of the game.  High school should be no different.  In fact, I'd think the punishment should be more severe.
In college it's the current game and the next.
 15. Coaches need to control their team. Bench clearing should never happen.

 20.
I just responding to the dirty team talk. Angleton has never been a dirty team. They play hard and if you hit them in the mouth, they just hit back. There was only 2 PF called tonight, so I thought it was just a hard hitting game by both teams. If you want to say that Angleton is dirty because they just wipped Vidor's tail tonight, then I would think Vidor fans wouldn't have liked it if Vidor would have won and I came on here saying they were a dirty team. Hey, it was just kids going at it for 48 minutes and Angleton just made more plays to advance. I said that if it was a scoring fest that Angleton would win. But anyways great season by Vidor. You all have great fan support over there. :D
That guy that made the comment is not from Vidor so dont let others leave a bad taste in your mouth about us. You were clearly the better team and proved it. And I am going to keep saying this "SOMEBODY PLEASE BEAT LAKE TRAVIS!"
 21.
Wow, the SportsDay HS show on Fox just completely wrote off 4A Division I Region III. Said whoever comes out of Region I or II will have Lake Travis waiting.
Good, maybe it will jinx them. Tired of hearing about the best 4a team money can buy.
 22.

Tough loss Vidor but nothing to hang your heads about. First time I seen you play and you have a very discpline team and well Coach. You guys have a huge heart and never gave up. Angleton? You may have won but hope you get beat down next week bc very dirty team.
Very dirty?? The Vidor kickoff returner on Angleton's side kept jawing over at the Angleton players everytime he was back there, which was quite alot. Finally one the Angleton coaches had to stand there to make sure nothing was said back from the Angleton kids. I didn't come here to talk trash because I never do, but this game was just a typical Angleton game. Angleton coaches make great adjustments after the half time and you saw it again tonight. Angleton defense held the Vidor offense to 6 points in the second half and score 39 themselves. Great effort by the Pirates though and now hoping for a Dawson win tomarrow for an all Brazoria county regional final.
Have to give credit to them for this. They saw a weakness in our defense and exploited it in the 2nd half. Turnovers and special teams plays also killed us. Angleton is state ranked and undefeated for a reason. Hats off to the Pirates on a great season. Yall made SETX and the town of Vidor very proud. It was a fun delight to watch you play. Goodluck to Angleton and everyone in region III still playing! SOMEBODY PLEASE BEAT LAKE TRAVIS!!! ;D
