  1. Is Sirvando (?) #10, eligible for Tuesday night's game since Central is back in school from Spring Break? Heard a rumor that he was only eligible since it was Spring Break and that he had failed the 4th 6 weeks. Sammy Jags?????? You have the answer?
  2. Gotta be a record for the most goals scored by a losing side in a HS play-off game.  That's nuts!  ???
  3. Brenham v Central, Tuesday, March 29, 630pm @ Charles Street Stadium in Humble
  4. 7-6??????? Sounds like a baseball game.......  ;D Brenham v Central, Tuesday, March 29, 630pm @ Charles Street Stadium in Humble
  5. The rule is put into place to not increase the punishment a player might receive for being ineligible, when he is about to become re-eligible by passing his classes. For instance, a player is ineligible, then passes the 3rd six weeks before Christmas.  Since the school does not have the time to check and proof grades before they leave for the break.  The player now has to sit the entire Christmas holiday and the week following while grades are verified.  This player has now had to sit out an extra two weeks.  It also cuts the other way, how are we supposed to know who is becoming INELIGIBLE until we get back and can sift through grades? The same at Spring Break. While it may benefit some players who will not be eligible either way, it does protect those players who have doen the right thing and gotten their grades back on track. This year, our three week grading period ended the Friday before spring break.  Grades can't be verified until we get back after Spring Break. So my one ineligible varsity player was eligible during Spring Break, but became ineligible when we got back until Friday (today) when the grading grace period ends.  He still missed the same amount of time, but it gives us the ability to verify grades so no mistakes are made.
  6. Congrats to Lumberton, good season to Vidor.  Great second half of district to claim the 4th spot.  Good job to Matt and the Vidor boys!
  7. Vidor will be tough.  Their only loss in the second round was to Nederland in a shoot-out.
  8. Slick5 - Good luck v Central on Friday. If we both win, can you get Sergio to wear his sheriff's uniform to our match-up? That would be TOO COOL! ;D
  9. Nederland had a little bit more of the play during regulation, but Vidor had more of the game in the two overtime periods.  Game was decided on the 12th round in the shoot-out.  Not a UIL record, but quite a long shoot-out nonetheless.  Vidor has really upped their game in the 2nd round of district.
  10. I have been told head to head goal difference for third, then the two leftover play a play-off game for fourth in the event of a four-way tie. Final round games for them: Vidor @ Hamshire Fannett PNG @ LCM Nederland @ Central PNG needs to win stay 2nd If Vidor, LCM and Central ALL win, there is a four way tie for second!  :o I think Vidor has the inside track on 3rd based upon the schedule and the way they have played the second round. We will see!
  11. In the goal?????????  ::)
  12. no champion. showcase format. Brenham was 3-0-1 Northbrook 2-0-1 Nederland 3-0-0 (i think) I think everyone else had at least one loss.
  13. More importantly, will James Trabing be released on the Golden Triangle?  Please post any James Trabing sightings!
  14. Like I posted earlier, I had and have NO PROBLEM with what the PNG student body was doing.  While there may have been some uncalled for comments, I didn't personally hear anything that I had a problem with, both from my perspective as the head coach and as a parent of a player on the team. See you in Brenham!
  15. Okay. I understand. If you want to shoot Tony an email you can, but yesterday at the PN-G Showcase, the Livingston coach said to me "Take it easy on us Thursday." Just sayin'..........
  16. Schedule Conflict? Thursday, January 20, you list Central @ Livingston at 6:00pm Livingston is @ Brenham, Thursday, January 20, at 6:00pm in the Select Cup
  17. Brenham v PN-G PN-G sat in a 4-5-1 and looked to hit on the counter.  Brenham had a tough time breaking down "the bus" in front of the goal.  Murdock made an excellent save and a great save to keep it 0-0 at the half. Murdock made another brilliant save early in the second half, then, in the 56th minute, Tyler Pieper was played through, he beat a charging Murdock to the ball but it had run to the endline, so he had to retrieve it, beat two defenders, than beat Murdock to the front post. Brilliant individual goal. Unfortunately, he applauded his new PNG student body fan club after the goal and I opted to have him spend the rest of the evening with me. In the 60th minute, a ball was played in from the right flank, headed across the goal to an onrushing Garrett Boeker who finished it from about a yard out and crashed into the net, where he got a little stuck.  At that point, "the incident" happened and Murdock did not return to the game.  Brenham scored again on an "own goal" in the 70th minute. We had a great time in the triangle this weekend and the PNG players/staff are a classy bunch (including Micah Murdock). Teenagers are teenagers and they all have lapses in judgement, regardless of whether they are from PNG HS, Brenham HS or Anytown HS. I know one of my kids discovered that comments from the bench are not acceptable and the entire team will now come in on Monday for some extra "conditioning".  PNG has a very "supportive" student body and I am cool with that because so de we and most soccer teams would love to have their fellow students out there making it difficult on the opponent. We look forward to Don and the boys coming out to Brenham for the Showcase.  Best of luck this season to the Indians!
  18. 0 goals, 1 assist Vidor GK broke his collarbone in the 15th minute  :(  50/50 ball, very unfortunate.
  19. Cool.  The gray is a light gray.
  20. AD's?  They will tell me it's 53 yds + 1 ft X 100 yds.  Are there any other dimensions?  ;)
