Brenham - 10 shots on target, 3 goals Central - 8 shots on target, 0 goals While the scoreline is what it is, it wasn't exactly dominating either way until Central went down to 10 men with about 10 minutes left and was having to expose themselves in the back to try and climb back into the game. Then Luis Ceron came up huge on several breakaways from Brenham to keep the score down.

The reason players become eligible during holiday breaks of AT LEAST one week is because the UIL has deemed that those week(s) would be beyond the normal three week punishment for failing a class.  At XMAS, a player may pass the 3rd six weeks, but his grades won't be reported and collected until teachers can proof everything when they return from holiday break.  So a player would miss another two weeks of eligiblity (basketball mostly).  They feel it is better to let an ineligible kid get a week they shouldn't get than have an eligible kid miss more time than he deserved to miss. Not saying I agree.  Just sayin......

No.  Waco University/Waco High are in the same quarter as Brenham/Central and Nederland/Huntsville. PNG is in the quarter with Waco Midway.

Thanks!  The part I'm most proud of is that even though they have earned the right to wear the green jacket, they don't feel that they are entitled to cheat on their girlfriends...........  :o

Waller, Montgomery and Huntsville returned 8 or 9 starters apiece from last season. So they are pretty much the same, but BETTER and BIGGER than in 2009.  The 2009 district champ (Willis) returned 9 starters and finished 5th. It was a war every night. Two of my ties were against the 6th and 7th place schools. Brenham returns 1 starter and a guy that started some due to injuries in the starting 11 from 2009. They graduated 17 lettermen. The only thing that will look familiar is the uniforms...... ;)

Congrats to Central.  They did a good job getting the result and we will have to be at our best and get a couple of breaks on Monday night or they will keep on rolling. You guys should be looking forward to the Tomball facility.  GREAT grass surface and a really nice atmosphere in the pines.....

First, the Lumberton/Central coaches chose to flip home/home. Central won.  The fields in the area are not in very good shape. That was apparently a big factor in the decision to flip home/home. The Nederland game at Charles Street is probably being played there due to the same field conditions reason. Plus it is somewhat half way for both teams.
