lmao, but Liberty is returning good players hopefully they will make the playoffs, and compete for a District Title??? 8) 8) 8)
As proven last year when Liberty returned "all the great players". Liberty is still Liberty.
@89Falcon what is that suppose to mean? Huffman only beat us twice out of proably 20 times in school history. Huffman wasn't even all that good last year. From what I'm hearing we changed up or defense against yall last year, and was  trying to run our best player at Tailback instead of the slot receiver. So coaching has alot to do wtih the panthers being 9-1 last year instead of 7-3
Ok first off we beat yall 3 times all in the last 4 years 8). This isnt the same Huffman it was 10 years ago. Huffman is miles ahead if liberty right now. You can blame your losses on coaching all you want, but you could've had Vince Lombardi as your coach last year and Huffman still would've beat you, because Huffman is the overall better team with bettet players. Oh and I consider 9-3 with a trip to the second round of the playoffs a pretty decent year. When was the last time liberty won a playoff game?
Huffman typically only plays 4a and 5a teams before district, however they will play 4th ranked sweeny on Monday.
BC and Silsbee are better than a lot of those 4a and 5a teams that Huffman is playing...IMO
Never said they weren't, but Huffman has played some good teams. New Caney won 26 games last year, St Thomas is very good, klien Forrest was .500 in probably the most difficult district in the state, and GCM. Its not like Huffman is loading up on cupcakes.

I am glad you figured that out.
Then you do realize you are posting on the baseball thread and not jacks or marbles....lol
Yes, the only two that could go either way is WOS/Silsbee. HF is really strong. What is really scary is all their starting pitchers so far this year are not even seniors (with the excepton of wendling who has been injured). So I see them possibly finishing 1st for several years to come. These kids playing now have grown up with ford park complex in their back yard and you can see the training is really starting to pay off. That Hicks player who started at Varisity last year as a freshman is lighting it up this year. Had a walk off grand slam the other night against buna. Baseball at HF is strong.
BC has first wrapped up. They are ranked like 2nd in the state and have 3 D1 players. The best HF or anyone else in the district can hope for is 2nd.
Deel was approved 7-0 by the board and will continue to be the HC in Liberty.  Whether that is good or bad, time will tell.
The 'Board' has nothing to do with and does not vote on whether or not the AD/HC stays or goes. This decision sits entirely in the Superintendants hands until his contract is up and I believe he still has another year in his contract. When his contract is up, then the board  will 'vote'.   If Slack has been seen around campus it may be because his wife is the head volleyball/softball coach there.
Personally I think we should fire Deel and hire Texasminuteman as our new head coach maybe then we will be able to come within 100 points of the all mighty Huffman Falcons.
Doubt it. Yall need more than a new coach ;)
Yeah, maybe fire Orr and hire ex-panther as our new OC, that might be the icing on the cake to put us in the same ball park as the Falcons.
you never know what the future may bring to good old Liberty,TX
I see a bright future. Liberty getting back on track sending Huffman back to 4A with a big red L, as they rack up 2 wins and 8 losses in a 4A district for the next few season while Liberty continues to get better, eventually dayton slows down and our athletes come back, then who knows...
Don't worry you will have atleast 4 more years of domination by Huffman before they move up. Splendora will probably go to 4a before Huffman does seeing as they are currently the largest school in the districts. If we do move up to 4a you can be sure that Huffman would have more wins there then Liberty would, because after all Huffman is an overall better athletic program than liberty.
LL is different. The arm of a 12 year old is not mature enough or strong enough to throw 100+ pitches.

It wasn't directed at anyone in particular.

It's a paradox: The less they throw, the more often they get hurt." So pitchers are throwing less than ever before, but they are getting hurt more. Hmm maybe they shouldn't be relying on pitch counts.

Because I think Bridge City's 3 D1 signees might have something to say about that.
 18.
to many pitches this early in the season, I been around the best ball you can play and been there and done it!! its to many pitches this early on in the season its just that  simple!!!
So have I ;) alot has changed in how we understand the arm since you played. In 2004 a prominent doctor described labrum tears as "baseball's most gruesome injury", now there is near a 70% chance you will make a full recovery. Again all I said is that pitch count alone will not prevent injury. I don't disagree that it was probably a bad decision to throw the pitcher that much. However if the pitcher has played year round, is a good athlete,  maintained good mechanics throughout the game, and properly rest and recovers he will probably be fine.
 19.
Trey Hearne on that list was one of the best pitchers in the nation that yr and he has already had 2 surgeys, and I know about 14 more players on that list that has had surgey!!
Just because they had surgery dosen't mean its beacuse they threw too many ptiches in one game. Pitching is an unnatural act as I'm sure you know, some players will get injured and need surgery regardless of what precautions you take. There are alot of things that could of contributed to thier injuries like not recovering properly or not getting enough rest, bad mechanics, and whole number of other things. Some injuries such as Tommy john come on sudden sometimes on one pitch, then other injures such as labrum tears can be built over years of throwing. It would be difficult to find anybody who has played baseball for a significant amount of time that doesn't have atleast some labrum damage. I myself just had a tear of the gleniod labrum that was repaired in december. The doctors said that the injury was built up over years of overhead activity. All I said is that pitch count totals for 1 game are overrated. over pitching a pitcher over the course of entire season is definitely going to lead to arm problems.
 20.
[Hidden Content] I am 24th on that list and you know what my arm kills me everyday from the wear and tear from that 2005 yr and I was never the same in 2006, plus I need to get my elbow cleaned out because I hurt every single day!!!
Sorry to hear that  you were injured, but there are probably many people on that list that never were. Tim Linsecum is one example. All I ever said is that pitch count alone is overrated as an injury prevention tool. A pitcher could get tired at 80 pitches and could be at risk for an injury while another pitcher could go into the 120s+ and be fine. Then there are still others that will get injured regardless of what you do. The pitch count is just a number, there are alot more important things to pay attention to.

 22. Here is a list of pitch count numbers from last years D1 colloege baseball season. [Hidden Content] I know its college, but as you can see pitchers routinely cross over the 100 pitches mark. A pitcher crossed the 120 mark 610 times last year, with some getting into the 180s.
 23.
Falcon thats way to many pitches this early in season!! its that simple
Never said it wasn't. I just think people focus on the number of pitches way too much. Pitch count can be usefull,, but it shouldn't be the only thing determining when a pitcher should come out. Some coaches will put a limit at 100, but in reality 100 is just a number. Some pitchers will tire before they get to 100 and some are capable of going much further.
