2. Yall gotta a better chance of getting Bill Cower to come out of retirement than you do of getting Gage. No real reason why he would wanna leave BH.
 3. This game will be broadcast on psnsports.com

Really, your top three teams should read: PAM, NED and VIDOR!!! I don't think Coldspring can hang with any of us. Actually, I don't think they could hang with any good 4A team much less a 5A team. Ya'll are a little over the top with this one.
Look I like vidor and all but cs could definitively hang with Ned and Vidor. Not knocking either team, coldspring is a great team would probably be the best defense either of those teams have faced.
Didn't Vidor play BC this year and beat them by 15 points?
Didn't kville beat vidor last year? and getting beat by 15 points isn't exactly a blowout so I would say BC Hung with Vidor. Also WOS lost by 1 to Ned this year which is better than what Vidor did against them. Coldspring is atleast as good as wos if not better. So do you still think cs can't hang with and even beat you?
If you were at the game, Instead of speaking our your head like most people on here do, you would know that it was very very rainy, wet and extremely windy at Vidors stadium the night they played BC. I was at the game, Vidor's defense dominated but couldn't get much going due to the weather.
Weather isn't an excuse. Both teams have to play in it. Maybe you should stop "speaking out of your head". I would also say a rainy and windy game should help vidor since they are run based and BC is more balanced.
 5. You're right vp32 it was another vidor fan that said that. This ranking is not about who would beat who, if it was that way then most of the 3a school would not even be on there. It is based on who is doing the best in thier own division. I think we all know Pam is by far the best team. However coldspring is 11-0 and has dominated thier opponents, Pam lost a game so Pam dropped.

 7. You actually did say they couldn't hang with Vidor, you even said they can't hang with any decent 4a. Cs found out a real defence is and almost lost? Yeah having 277 yards on the ground  (that is less than they had against Huffman) while missing one of you're best backs and holding the other team 100 yards dosent sound like an amost lose to me. But since you dont think cs could beat you, could wos? they played Ned closer THIS YEAR than yall did and almost beat them. CS could beat Vidor no matter how laughable you think it is.
 8. I really hope this was just a very unfortunate accident. Finding out otherwise would make it even worse for the family, the community, and all other parties involved.

 11. Navasota is a very good football team, and could possibly have the best offence we have faced so far. Huffman hasn't faced a team that can pass like Navasota yet. So that scares me a bit especially since our secondary has struggled at points this season. Navasota runs for about 193 yards a game and passes for about 240 so they are pretty balanced. They are a big play quick strike offence, we will have to contain them and force them to make sustained drives if they want to score. Receiving wise almost 70% of thier receptions are split between two players #12 and #2 with #12 being the big play threat. Thier QB protecs the only throwing 2 pics compared to 30 tds while completing 64% of his passes, but he also likes to run and has more carries than any other player. We will have to get pressure on the QB and they have given up some sacks this year in thier loss to Willis they gave up 9, they gave up 5 to Cameron yoe, and a couple in the Lagrange game. So defensively we have to contain the big play and get pressure on the QB and force incompletions, against Willis they only completed 47% of thier passes. Defensively they are not that great, imo CS, silsbee, and probably KP were all better. They give up close to 16 points a game for the season and nearly 283 yards a game in the 6 games I found stats against them. They haven't faced an offence like Huffman's offence every team they faced ran the ball atleast 35+ times even Willis who threw 27 times still ran 46 times. Huffman averages about 33 pass plays compared to 18 run plays a game, Navasota's opponents ran close to 35 times and only passed about 15 times. Huffman should be able to move the ball and score on this D, we just can't make mistakes like we did against silsbee. Last week we over 400 yards of offence and ran better than we have in most games, but we can't have the turnovers. Townley can't throw pics this week or we won't have a chance. Huffman has to eliminate the mistakes, we can't have kick off returns for tds, give them starting filed position at our own 4, or have dropped passes. I believe our Defense will hold navasota to limited numbers and if our offense can score 21+ points we will have a very good chance to win. 24-21 Huffman
 12. Let's be real, no one is saying they would beat Pam, but they could definitively compete with and beat 4a schools. Newton a 2a school routinely plays up at the 3a level and has had success. Kville a very small 3a about to be 2a school plays with 4a schools. Didn't Kville beat Vidor last year? So don't say CS can't complete with our local 4a schools, because they can.
 13. Yes, but BV has a weaker schedule than CS. Also CS dominated thier weak schedule, BV did not. That's all I was saying.
 14.

I really don't think cs will have a problem with bellville. BV's D has given up more yards and points than both Huffman and BC have  and BV played against weaker competition. BV hasn't faced a D anything close to what CS has. I think BV will move the ball better than BC did just because they have a very good running attack, but they still won't score enough to win. BV played a very weak schedule and didn't dominate the way CS did, imo BV is not as good of a team as BC. Like I said before 20-7 CS only because CS dosent kick the pat.
Here's some of Coldspring's pre-season games..   Kirbyville   Tarkington   Shepherd   Splendora     Cleveland * some of theses teams are in a rebuilding year...I wouldn't call this a real tough schedule... ;D ;D ;D ;D
lockhart (2-8), cuero(3-7), needville (1-9), Lagrange (4-6), brookshire royal (2-7), Caldwell(1-9), Columbus (5-6 although they did win a playoff game), and stafford (2-8) these are some of the teams BV played. There are 8 teams with a losing record on this list. CS played 4 teams with a winning record and 5 if you include BC. So who has a weaker schedule now?
Well I guess we'll see then.  I forgot the win over Crosby automatically put Vidor in contention for the state title.  Man you described every team thats in the playoffs (playing hard all 4 qtrs etc etc).  Vidor & their fans should have a chip on their shoulder and congrats to the kids they deserve it.  Still have to pass in the playoffs and the coach knows that.
I didnt say they would win state, I said I would love to see it. I realize every team in the playoffs is dedicated and has heart and all, but vidor has something else, they are playing for a fallen team mate. They have dedicated the season to him, and will not quit period. Teams like that always have a chance.

I am very impressed with the way they play football. Hard hitting defense, straight ground and pound offense. Who says you need a 5 WR flashy offense, and 11 Deion Sanders on defense. Very disciplined, controlled themselves against after the play nonsense against Crosby, won with class.
It's just the first round and Vidor had trouble with Crosby...each week the competition not only gets harder but the depth of each team becomes more athletic.  It's not, well this team has 1 or 2 studs to watch out for, it's the whole defense and offense you have to game plan for.  Eg. Lake Travis, Brenham etc etc.  Vidor won't win unless they throw.  Period.
Then they won't win? They are in the 2nd round without throwing so far. Euless Trinity, 5A played for a state title last year and very good this year, 3500 rushing yards, less than 1000 passing. Yeah you are right if you don't throw you lose, lol.
Vidor and Trinity are two different animals. I won't say they cant win without passing, but it will be very difficult when they run into a good defence. Most teams that go far in the playoffs are balanced, that way the opposing D cant key in on one thing. Trinity however is just so much bigger, so much more athletic, and has more depth than almost every team they play, Vidor dosent have any of that.
Very true my friend. I was simply saying that overall, no you do not have to pass to win, that is all. I know Vidor is no Trinity, I am not saying that by any means, I was just saying you do not have to pass to win period. Vidor has been through a lot this season, and if you haven't seen them play you may just think  this boring offense will be halted soon. However, it's more than just their effective run game. Every back they have runs hard on every play, every single o-linemen is blocking like his life depends on it, and they play hard nosed defense for 4 quarters. Well disciplined and well coached. They have all the qualities of a very good football team, and seems to me they are underestimated simply because of their offensive playbook.
I don't think it is a boring offence, it can be a very effective one, but when you are one dimensional it is easier for a D to stop idc how good you're run game is. In the playoff they will have to rely on sustained drives to score and play outstanding defense. I have no doubt that vidor can do this, it will just be more difficult. With that said idt think there is a team that I am routing for more than vidor (other than Huffman) with the things they have been through this year it would be great to see them go on a run. Vidor is a team that dosent have the best athletes, dosent have the biggest kids, dosent have the most depth, dosent have 74 D1 players (brenham), but you will be hard pressed to find a team with more heart. With the offence they run they don't have to be the most talented, they have to excute to perfection, and simply out hustle the other team. I would love to see a team like Vidor win a state championship, no matter how unlikely it may seem right now.
 19.
Sorry everyone, but saying Coldspring, a SMALL 3A school, could handle a 5A power like PAM is just ridiculous. They have some quality players but I'm absolutely sure that across the board they could not put the talent at every position a 5A or good 4A school could. The real breakdown would be the fact that Coldspring has several players going both ways where a PAM has two quality players at EACH position. They might hang until halftime and then, with their collective tongues hanging out, they would get wore out by the speed and DEPTH of a school like that. Period. Keep it real, please.
Who said they would beat Pam?
The best team they played was 8-3 Sealy who just got donkey stomped by navasota other than that there are atleast 7 or 8 teams with a losing record on thier schedule.

Have a really good shot of going deep
That's true.  they have the chance of going the farthest of all SETX teams, especially seeing Coldspring stumble somewhat to Bridge City.
hhhmmmm did Coldspring stumble.... or did BC coaching staff do their homework and prepare the team and game plan that stumped Coldsprings team and coaches..... or was Bridge City just under estimated...
I have no idea.  I wasn't there.  I do know that Coldspring have been puttin gup ridiculous numbers all year and Bridge City came in and gave them probably their first real game of the season.  I have to say that Coldspring stumbled, becuase if Bridge City raised their level of play that much, they would have wond the district title with little or no friction.
Huffman gave them a pretty dang good game. We gave up less rushing yards and score more points than bc did, heck some of the coldspring fans will even tell you we probably shoulda score a couple of tds if it wasn't for dropped td passes, but oh well. Coldspring is a great team and the only thing that will stop them is coldspring. And no offence to Pam, but they will only go until they meet katy. I really don't think anybody will stop them this year. They are on a different level.
