The pitch count is one of the most useless things is baseball. As long as a pitcher does not get tired and keeps the right mechanics he can throw 200 pitches and be fine. The injuries come from other things like not giving a pitcher proper rest. If a pitcher starts a game then he should not go out and play shortstop the next day. He should not even pick up a baseball the next day. Also if a pitcher throws 100 and 80 of them are curveballs or Sliders then that kid is going to have arm problems as well.

The falcon are ranked 11th in the state and should roll through district, possibly without even playing a full 7 inning game.
Roll through district most likely, but not playing one 7 inning game? I would hope they would struggle at least once for a win. It would help them when get to the playoffs.
Well I would like to know who gonna give them a game in this district? Huffman plays a hard schedule before district starts because they know they won't see any good teams in district. They didn't even play a 3a team until district started.
I don't think anyone will give them much of a game in district. It would be more likely that Huffman just has a poor game and probably has to find a way to win. They are a very good team.
Well I guess that no 7 inning game thing didn't work out to well lol. Huffman 7 Cleveland 1 -

Seems like the winner is in the driver seat in the district. Got to assume it will be Stallings (Splendora) vs West or DeBerry (Huffman). Good luck to both teams.
Didn't Stallings throw alot of pitches Tuesday in the win over Coldspring? Either way, Splendora is scrappy, can they give Huffman a game in Splendora? After two blowout wins might the Falcons take one for granted?
No coach Deberry won't let that happen. How Big Are the Baseball fields?
falcolnfanatic replied to Popa Blu's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Idk if Woodville's is the biggest in Texas. But Huffman's park is big. 325 down the lines and I think 410 to center. I have never seen anyone hit a bomb to center there. -
Huffman no other team is close to them.

I think its funny how people are talking about a state championship and Evadale has not even played their first game yet.
Saw Lufkin at AM Cons last week, brutal weather. Riley Farrell was sitting on 89/90, a few above 90, only pitched a few frames. (Not McFarland's day). How's the pitcher in Crosby out of the gate? Any reports on P Jacobs ? Any on Brenham, Roberts & Bolcerick? Who's number one hurler at BH this year ? Who in SE Texas is throwing 90 plus currently?
Huffman JR Dustin Cook committed to UH is listed at 89-90 on perfect game, but I have not seen him throw in person.

As far Evadale vs. Bridge City THat would be a good game . I don't think it would happen but if it did Bridge City might get there feelings hurt.Evadale will play WOS this year.
evadale would get ten run ruled 3a baseball and 1a baseball are alot diferent
arrowhead3, you must have a narrowmind if you think that. it would be a close game, neither would run away with it!!
How can you say it would be close when evadale got 10 run ruled by wos and bc beat wos.
You cant go by that. All games are different.Evadale can compete against alot of 2A and 3A teams .
I'm sure they can, I never said they couldn't compete with some 3a teams. However they would not beat bc, and imo Evadale would be lucky to play a full 7 innings with them.
Help me with "no pass no play". Why are kids that do not make their grades allowed to practice? Shouldn't they be attending study hall? I was informed this afternoon that one local school lost 3 of their starting pitchers to failing grades, and instead of going home to study, they are being required to attend practice which some evening may not end until 9 or 10. Coaches, I beleive "No PASS NO PLAY" was intended to motivate the student athelete - to penalize those who fail, and reward those who pass. Just my opinion. What's yours?
I would like to know who's practices end at 10. I have never heard of a school practicing past 6 30 maybe 7. I also think it is a pretty big incentive for kids when they can't play. They have to put in all the work and don't get rewarded for it. I really do not think the is a hs coach in this area that would tell his kids they can't go to tutoring if they needed it, but even if there was the kids could always get up early and go to the tutoring sessions before school.

Wow are you people serious? I don't think it has anything to do with race. I think it has more to do with the environment that the different groups were raised in. I think everybody would agree that the majority of inner city communities have a high population of black people, just like the majority of suburbs have a high population of white people. Now look at the differences in these communities. In the inner city there are much less form of entertainment that are available inside the house and is some cases the homes do not even have air conditioning. This drive the kids outside for entertainment and in the inner city basketball is very popular. Basketball is a high endurance sport that would increase overall athleticism if played regularly. Just look at how many pro football players are interested in playing in the nba if there is an NFL lookout. Now the suburbs have more incentives for the life to stay inside, which means they are not going to be as athletic as an inner city kid who might be playing basketball every day. Another great example of this is back in the day when colleges would go to the farms to recruit the big "country strong" kids. They were typically stronger than kids who grew up in the city because the had to do heavy lifting on a daily basis. It has nothing to do with race at all.
