Yeah its easy to get players like that when you recruit from all over the world.

Of course they don't look at film lol. Do you really expect them to look at film from the players from every high school in TX? Here is how All-State works. Its all done by stats. The writers look at who has the best stats and combine that with who they have heard the most about and the make their pics accordingly. There are like 3 all state teams total. The most accurate in my experience has been the tswa all state list (the other are usually biased toward the dfw area). I have already said that this list is bogus. Now chs11 if you seriously think that reed should not be on the all state list based on what you saw in 1 game then it is you who know nothing about football. You make it sound as if we were the weakest district in the state. While I agree we were weak we were no where near the weakest. There are plenty of other weak districts where players don't get those kind of stats. Reed would have started on any team in the state from 5a to 1a. That's why he has scholarships offers from a crap load of D1 schools. If that's is not deserving of all-state then I don't know what is. BTW if we go by your logic then no one form our district including the coldspring players should be all state because our district is so weak right? Or does this just apply to the players who don't play for coldspring?

Well I knew they played and that WOS won, but I didn't remember the score. The point was to bring the  people made the inclination that evadale would "surprise" Bridge City if they played back down to earth. Don't get me wrong I know Evadale has a great baseball team and I believe they will go deeper in the playoff than BC. Mainly because region 3 3a is incredibly tough. I believe Evadlae will make it back to the state tourny and hopefully win it all, but to say the would beat BC is ridiculous.

Don't worry Trojan Fan. We realize that the postings of the few do not represent the feelings of an entire community. I have pulled for coldspring in every game this season except for 2 (Huffman and Liberty games). I will continue to pull for them. Good luck on Friday, bring back that State championship.

I don't know what it says about anybody I wasn't at the game. I do know that if a DE has 129 tackles then he must be pretty much the entire defense. And that it would be pretty easy for a good team to double and even triple team him on every play. Despite this he was still able to rack up all those numbers. All-state players are chosen based on their entire seasons performance not what may have happened 1 game. Cedric Reed is deserving of this honor and every other 1 he will get throughout his career. Even if almost every team torched clevelands defense. Reed was imo THE BEST defensive player in our district and 1 of the best in the state. Good luck to him at his future career at UT. CHS11 everyone knows that coldspring has great players and is having a great year. I don't know why you keep coming on here bashing players. I don't remember anybody bashing the coldspring players. Just because coldspring had a great season dosent mean they were the only team in district with talent. With that being said this list is crap. Both cummings and the other rb should have been 1st or 2nd team imo. It is amazing to me how brownwood can have 9 players on this list and they aren't even in the finals. It is very easy to see that this list is biased. Good luck to coldspring this Friday I will be there cheering for you despite the conduct of some of your fans.

Since there is no way to know for sure which districts are the toughest all you can do is speculate. I gave you my reasons for stating that your district wasent the toughest. You said my logic was flawed, but I still haven't hear a reason as to why your district was so tough. I guess you just can't come up with 1 which is what I tought would happen.

I was responding to some posters who said that your district was the toughest in the state. I belive its clearly not the toughest. Well I would say that district is definitely tougher than any of the local ones. My point was that some people are so blinded by their homerism they think they are the best at everything. I was just trying to bring them back to reality. Btw there are 7 districts in 2a which have 2 teams in the 3rd round 5 of which are division 1. Now I would say all of those districts are togher than yours. So at best your district could be 8th toughest overall and 6th of 16 in division 1. That is definetly something to be proud of lol. Districts with 2 teams in 3rd round Division 1 1 2 8 13 14 Division 2 9 15

I'm pretty sure that sfa didn't run the ball a whole lot more than lamar. The announcers in nova game said they only had like 4 rushing tds all season. I hope he decides to go to baylor. They are getting better every year and Ford would defiantly help. Plus you can't beat a free education from the most expensive school un TX.

Wow idk why coldspring should even show up. Carthage has won 2 years in a row and they are just soooo balanced that coldspring don't have a chance. The score will probably be like 1000 to 0 this carthage team is the best team to ever grace the football fields of Texas. I don't know how they lost 2 games this year. Oh wait they must have been trying to give some of the other teams hope since carthage is sooo much better than everyone else. Give me a break lol. Carthage may win this game, but the reasons some people come up with are ridiculous. What a team did last year or the year before don't matter, and who ever said that a one dimensional team can't possibly beat a balanced team is just wrong. A team with a great run game and great D can beat a balanced team. It just depends who is better at certain things. Coldspring has made it this far for a reason. every other team they played tried to key on the run and it didn't work. This game won't be any different. Coldspring wins by 14.

Just because there are a lot of close games in district does not mean that its the toughest in the state. I mean no one from this area made it past the 3rd round in 2a. So it couldn't have been that tough.

You said "that won't be hard, the big east is a joke" in response to someone else saying merka would do good in the big east. I never said merka should be mvp cause he was going to TCU. I said he should have won because he was more important to his team than anyone else in the district.

I think Alverez would be pretty dumb to leave what he has built in kirbyville. I know that they are losing a lot after this year, but I reall don't think they will fall of that much. Alverez has built Kirbyville into one of the best 3a/2a programs in the state. I don't think anyone would leave that unless it was a job at permian.

Coach DeBerry at Huffman is a great coach. He knows ALOT about the game. While he does not have some of the playoff acholades the other coaches in the area have. He has over 250 wins and was the last coach I belive(could be worng) to take Dayton to the playoffs which is sayin somethin lol.

Big east might be a joke but atleast merka will be PLAYING D1 FBS football. Which dayton players from this years team are gonna be doin that? Get off Merka he is the best football player in the district that's why he has a scholarship to TCU. We can argue all day who should have won mvp. Fact is it don't really matter. Merka won't even remember this after they are winnig BCS bowls at TCU.

We did lose our #1 last year in blane hashagen. That was the only starter lost off last years team. Tyler west(3-0 .53 34ks), cole deberry(3-1 .88 27k)s, nathan schwertner(1-1 3.15 21 ks) and dustin cook(3-2 2.40 28ks) all saw pitching time last year. We also return 8 players batting over .300 and 4 over .400. Top returning hitters are cole deberry (.514 20 rbis), corey spray (.426 13 rbis), austin listi (.419 26 rbis), and Garrett Jones (.435 20 rbis). This years team is very talented and has a lot of experience with 7 players having at least 2 years varsity experience. If they can find someone to step in as the ace they should be able to compete with anyone in region 3.
