You will get to see Lancaster PG Tre Lynch in Austin. He is supposed to be pretty dang good. Chose LU over some DI schools like WKU & TCU. Maybe he can start right away, IDK. I saw Harper a few years go in Austin when SA Madison made the state tourney. Wasn't impressed then and not impressed now. Milk Harris has been a BIG disappointment after showing some promise early. If Rice can keep their football commitments, then LU will keep theirs. I wouldn't worry too much about that.

What happens on Saturday?
HoopInsider_Cooper replied to LumberCard's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
They own the tie-breaker with McNeese...so throw the Pokes out. They would need Northwestern State to lose @ SELA. It's just not a talented team. They have their runs but having one good game is not enough. Most of these young players don't have much promise. -

I love it when teams play the "whoa is me" card. Reverse psychology. -
As bad as this team is, the teams below them are worse! IE: McNeese. Despite an awful team, it comes down to Lamar @ Nicholls on Saturday. The winner gets the 8th spot. I watched the game for the first half. These players aren't very good. Nabors is the best and he has 1 good leg. Custer is so weak and timid, he is a perimeter player now. This Mathis kid that is starting plays hard, but isn't too good. Miles turns the ball over too much. Milk has tapered off. Hopefully with some fresh faces like the kid from Lancaster and a few others, this team will have a spark next year. If not, there will be a new regime after next season.

Heard it again last night at Livingston Jr. High. Wherever he ends up, I hope the young man succeeds. Good to see some old NW friends last night....Tried to recruit them to the message board but they were not (edited for T) interested. -

Everything I saw Lazeek has a problem with it. ;) Offensively, no they are not better than Silsbee. They were awful from the outside tonight. Defensively, the way they played tonight, they could have beaten a lot of teams. Outside of Yates, it was the best defensive game I have seen all season. -

One side was dead set on playing there. To avoid flipping, they settled on that location. Super nice for a Jr High but terrible for a game that big. Court was slick...players on both teams sliding. By no means did the refs cost Kountze the game. One had it in for Kountze and one had it in for NW. They called several fouls on different players and one time a player they called it on for NW wasn't even on the court. As anticipated, it was a great game. Sucks that hundreds were turned away. Gym way too small for that crowd. Heard Ch. 6 photog didn't get in! Should have texted me Alex!!! LOL -
Lazeek: roll your eyes all you want...I was going to pick HJ (-9 or 10) but I knew you guys would really think I was off my rocker....I'm sure you didn't read my preview, if you did, you would know I was all over H-J in this one. Of all the teams, H-J and Anahuac had the two best chances on winning tonight. Keep hatin'. Indian0for2....I don't care. All your wins were blowouts this year. The close ones? (except for one PAM game) were loses. Same boat next year.
