  1. From Fox 4..... A judge has filed a temporary injunction against the owner of the Southeast Texas Mustangs. That injunction prevents Jordan Maswoswe from firing head coach, Steve Tucker, or any of the assistant coaches. Two other owners requested the injunction. Those owners, Gerald Nelson Jr. and Jason Apodaca, feared Maswoswe planned to sabotage the team by firing Tucker, and the assistant coaches. The team has 14 wins and only one loss. Nelson and Apodaca claim in their lawsuit that Maswoswe also threatened to bring in a general manager from out of town, and to give certain third parties an interest in the Mustangs instead of monies they are owed. Nelson and Apodaca filed the suit because they say Maswoswe breached a contract in which he had agreed to sell his remaining interest in the team to Nelson. Nelson and Apodaca say they already own a substantial interest in the Mustangs. A hearing will be held February 13th on whether the temporary restraining order against Maswoswe will be extended.
  2. Coker was passed up at Rice for Bailiff...Rice couldn't come up with the $$$ but that was right after he left Miami. Be interesting to see how much this pays.
  3. Art Briles never signed a Parade All-American at U of H....Kevin Sumlin did in his 2nd year.
  4. I'm sure they have one of Kenny somewhere.....
  5. You may be asking 'i thought this guy was going to sign or I haven't seen so-and-so's name'... Probably because they didn't qualify. I've ran into that several times today with certain players.
  6. FYI...There's another side to this story as well. I can tell you its not just in basketball. If a varsity football team scratches a crew from a friday game, don't expect to have subvaristy covered that week. That's just how it is.

  14. The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Board of Trustees will receive a recommendation from Superintendent Dr. Pauline Hargrove for Randy Crouch to be named as the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach of LCM. Dr. Hargrove will make the recommendation during the monthly School Board meeting on February 9 at 6:30 p.m., at the LCM High School auditorium. According to Hargrove, sixty-two people showed an interest in the position of Athletic Director/Head Football Coach that became available earlier this year. Of those expressing an interest in the position, sixty-one actually applied. A representative committee of nine screened all of the applications, narrowing the field to twenty-five. With a second round of screening, thirteen were examined more closely and the final list of applicants to be interviewed included seven names. Of these final seven, one withdrew his name prior to the interview and another following the interview process. According to Hargrove, “All of the finalists were clearly outstanding individuals and it was an extremely difficult decision to make. We feel thankful and blessed to have had such a wonderful pool of applicants and look forward to an exciting new era in LCM athletics.†Coach Crouch has head coaching experience and every program with which he has been identified has been successful. He is presently offensive coordinator for West Orange-Stark High School and has also served as offensive line coach for that district. His successes in those positions have included undefeated seasons in 1998, 2000, 2005, 2006, and 2008; district championships in 1998, 2000, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008; and a state final game in 2000. Crouch’s high school career has also included time at LCM High School as offensive coordinator from 1994 to 1997, when the team was District Runner-Up in 1995 and reached Regional Finals in 1997 – the highest level of play in the team’s history. He was head football coach at Sulphur High School from 1988 to 1990; head football coach at DeQuincy High School from 1987 to 1988; assistant line coach at Sulphur High School in 1976; and was named a high school All-American Football Player in 1971, while playing for Sulphur High School. He was offensive line coach for Louisiana Tech University from 1978 to 1987; a graduate assistant at Baylor University from 1977 to 1978; and defensive end coach as a graduate assistant in 1975. Crouch was named to the All Century Team at Louisiana Tech University in 2001; coached LTU in the 1984 National Finals; was named All-American Guard for LTU in 1974; and played on the College National Championship Team, Division 2 for LTU in 1973.
