  2. This will get ugly if they TAKS thing goes thru.....
  3. This topic has been moved to High School Football . [iurl][Hidden Content]]
  4. Countdown is on to see which coaches get fired from their current job because they applied for LC-M and their name was released to the public.
  5. Not sweating....I will have the list and will post, print, copy, snail mail, e-mail, and text it. ;D
  6. Check this out: Here is the official ruling stating you have to release names of football applicants from a public school: Original AG Ruling
  7. Jeff McCarson (yes, the nightclub guy) was the first head coach...think it began in 2002.
  8. Several media members will partake in a round table discussion regarding the secretness of PN-G football coaching search this Thursday, 9pm, on Fox 4.
  9. From Philip Klein's blogsite: Talk about in your face? And maybe even a lawsuit before it is all over? <start drums> How about those damn Indians over at Port Neches? The story is simple. A long time football coach quits. So everyone applies for the job to the Port Neches Groves school board. The applications are put into a ranking and on and on. So the media wants to know who applied. Any normal district says - well here are the names. But not Port Neches Groves. They violate almost every law that can be violated by telling the media no. You cannot have the list. So how do they do it? By doing the old end around and asking the AG for an opinion. That stops the process for at least six weeks and then when the AG comes back and tells them to release the names they will after they have selected the new head coach. But wait! There is more! By doing such they stall the media and stop any suggestion of any negotiation for any school district that may want to keep their coach by making the pot sweeter. Now for the question - does this open the door for the district to be sued. And we just do not know the answer to that. However, seemingly it is a bad deal for the politicos on the school board. What are they hiding? Who knows? Who is behind it all? Who knows? Is it legal what they are doing? Hell yes. Is it what should happen in a free and open government? No. But remember - it is Port Neches where football is king. And making it even more funny - it has taken the eyes off the ball as they say. No media is reporting that the old coach is staying on with his whopping huge salary and now they will add on ANOTHER huge whopping salary. Ah yes - bigger is better. And there is nothing like more corruption and manipulation of the law in the most corrupt county in Texas! Applicants - please apply and your name will not be released. Really - we thought that no elected board could get lower than what goes on in Port Arthur or the Jefferson County Courthouse. Opps....we were wrong.
  10. I am waiting on the deadline for ap...Don't know when it is but will find out Monday.

  13. We always ask for them and it's never been a problem until now. LC-M releases applicants; PN-G not so fast By Chad Cooper, Sports Editor The Examiner Port Arthur Memorial, Port Neches-Groves and Little Cypress-Mauriceville will have a new football coach in place before the school year is over. Memorial is in the process of accepting applications as is LC-M, whose deadline was today. LC-M has released their list that included 51 applicants. Of those, some names of interest are Randy Crouch (WO-S offensive coordinator; former LC-M assistant), Jeff Harrell (Texas High assistant athletic director/offensive line; former LC-M assistant), Josh Rankin (FW Haltom HS, former LC-M grad/assistant) and Mike Stewart (Orangefield offensive coordinator/ LC-M grad/assistant). The district is also seeking input from their community by taking a 15 question survey regarding the new coaching search at www.lcmcisd.org. The new coach will make $68,026-$80,596. PN-G on the other hand is keeping quiet. Despite deadline for entry on Jan. 9 and a slew of Freedom of Information requests, superintendent Lani Randall was quoted in the Port Arthur News saying the district would likely seek an opinion from the Texas Attorney General. The Freedom of Information states information sought must be promptly released according to the availability or, if not available, they have 10 days to do so. The Texas Attorney General’s office released in ruling 2000-0035 that a public school could not keep secret the applications of coaches. An opinion from the Texas Attorney General would take a minimum of 45 days, well beyond Feb. 10, which is the date they district wants to recommend a name to the board. PN-G School Board President Rusty Brittain was also quoted in The News and mentioned what happened to coach Jeff Jagodzinksi at Boston College. It was announced that Jagodizinksi, the head coach at BC, had applied for the same job for the NFL’s New York Jets but was fired by Boston College for doing so. Applying for a job at the high school level is nowhere near the level of applying for a position from a school in the ACC to the NFL. The public and most importantly, the tax payers of the PN-G school district deserve to know who they applicants are for the job.
  14. What's funny is it takes a minimum of 45 days for the AG to give an official opinion, which that time they will have already hired.... Guess what...Even if I get the list next year, it will be released.
  15. Contested or not...It will be released. BTW, no ruling was made on it. PN-G will be releasing the list sooner than later.

  17. I reported it and recall other sources doing it too... Don't think Drillers or Crappers have anything to do with it. Market will not support these entities. I dont know why teams keep coming in. Even if it were the NBA-D League, it would fail.
