Good for them! Tired of all the negative talk. -
FYI: PAM's defense, yes their defense, will be the strength of the team. They are loaded with DI players on that side of the ball. Offense: Even tho you have a SR QB, he got little time last year and is hurt with a thumb injury and those lag and lag and lag. They lost 2 all-district WRs with 1 starter back (Solomon Jones) who only caught a couple of passes last year. The OL is the youngest its been in years. But, they are better than Channelview and Sterling. They will go to the playoffs.

Gary Stelly of KOGT reporting: Cameron Spencer, a 6-8 forward from LCM, is transferring to play at North Texas after spending two seasons at SMU. Spencer averaged 0.9 points and 1.7 rebounds a game in his two seasons. Spencer was named the District 20-4A Defensive MVP after averaging 14 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.5 blocks a game as a senior at Little Cypress-Mauriceville. From the Dallas Morning News: Basketball: SMU forward to transfer to Mean Green 08:20 AM CDT on Friday, August 22, 2008 By Brett Vito / Staff Writer North Texas head coach Johnny Jones and his staff hosted Cameron Spencer on a visit to Denton for a second time Thursday. This time the circumstances were just right for the 6-8 forward from Little Cypress-Mauriceville to commit to play for the Mean Green. Spencer visited UNT after his senior season in high school, but ended up committing to SMU. Spencer left SMU following last season and will transfer to UNT, where he will have two years of eligibility remaining. He spent two seasons playing for the Mustangs. “It’s a huge advantage for us and a great opportunity for Cameron,†Jones said. “He will have two years left to play, and with a redshirt year, he will have an opportunity to continue to improve and get acclimated to our system.†UNT will have two senior post players this season in Harold Stewart and Justin Howerton. Jones said one of the Mean Green’s priorities in recruiting is finding players to fill the void that will be left when both Stewart and Howerton graduate. Spencer was named the District 20-4A Defensive MVP after averaging 14 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.5 blocks a game as a senior at Little Cypress-Mauriceville. Spencer averaged 0.9 points and 1.7 rebounds a game in his two seasons at SMU. UNT is hoping that Spencer will develop into a contributor in its frontcourt while sitting out next season as a redshirt. “He’s the type of player we are looking for,†Jones said. “He has Division I experience.â€
