Coldspring wins, but maybe not by as much as some think. I just don't think they are comfortable yet with the new offense. It is their first year to run it and it looks like it. They definitely have the better athletes and should win.

This is his 4th year and I THINK his record is 8 - 26 so far. He is a very good coach and great guy. Orangefield is very lucky to have him.

The district is VERY weak this year. The only game Shepherd has a chance of winning is this friday night. From what I've been told, they have had a crappy week of practice so far, so they may not even win that game. The talent to win is there, but the kids do not want to do the things that have to be done in order for them to win. Until that changes they will always be battling somebody for last place in the district.

This is the week Shepherd finally breaks into the win column. Coach Hanks and the kids get their first "W".

Few things in life I dislike more than Homecoming. All the distractions and the parades and Pep Rally skits. The kids are more interested in what's going on after the game than playing the game. Can't be over fast enough for me.

Shepherd does have talent, lots of it, but they have no work ethic and no discipline and no desire to do the things it takes to be sucessful, until they do,they will always be battling someone for last place.

Shepherd QB seth keith is out and they only had 1 move-in, a kid from Lufkin. Jesse Butler will be the starting QB. East Chambers will win by as many as they want to. The pirates are in for a long season.

Helton is a great kid, hard worker, but he is not a QB, he MAY be able to run the option as well/better than Ramsey, we'll see. He has alot of trouble throwing the Football. Period. He does not have a strong arm and does not have the reps to be comfortable enough to make the reads for the passing game, in the blink of an eye. Orangefield will struggle offensively. Granger is not the answer either. He is slow, immobile and just flat out is not a QB. They need a move-in like a dead man needs a coffin, BAD!!! I'm not trying to bash or be negative, just giving my opinion,I'm a whole lot closer to that situation than most of you.

Yes, you're correct. I spoke with Coach Mangan yesterday morning and he confirmed that Coach Broussard was going to PN-G.

No way. I coached last year in 21-3A and this year I coach in 22-3A and this is a weak district. Orangefield beat Splendora in Splendora last season and all 3 play-off teams got the boot in the first round last year. 22-3A is a weak district. I'm not trying to offend, just stating my opinion.
