I guess coach c thought we would be headed into 3a after last year . I think that's why he installed the copycrat offense . Don't get to complacent coach. We are still 4A so let's get back to the drawing board and get creative again.
I thought we already went over this raidernaytion. It's not a copy cat offense if no other team in the district is using it and last time i checked your team wasn't running the slot t so therefore it's not a copy cat offense. Or did you forget about our little conversation. ::) -
Keep underestimating us. I love it. 8)

Perhaps you..at the ripe old age of 22...are too close to the fire I speak of to see the flame. Your continual reference to "hippies" and "segregation" makes me think you are either stuck in a time warp or are channeling Cotton from King of the Hill. I realize that every generation has its shortcomings...but since you weren't yet conceived when I graduated high school you simply have NO perspective on this. Since you are a man of logic (at least one class worth anyway, huh?!) you should know that your argument does not fit, a non-sequitur if you will. Your contention is that kids today are no worse than they were in any other generation. WRONG....look at teen incarceration figures (both those held as adults and as juveniles)...look at numbers in alternative programs. I have taught and coached at every level....and junior high is the worst. Kids now do not care...period. You have no experience and no evidence to back your claims. Come back when you have experienced a bit more of what the youth of today are really like. Oh yeah.....one of my degrees is in Philosophy....lots of logic and ethics classes in my background. :)
First off the logic class comment was in response to you criticizing my logic, I wasn't trying to compare myself to you. It was more of a joke than a serious comment. [Hidden Content] This chart shows the decrease in violent juvenile crime from 95 to 08 [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] These two charts show the decrease in juvenile arrest rates. In fact 2009 had the lowest juvenile arrest rate since the early 70s. So we know juvenile crime is down, but lets look at teen pregnancy rates. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] This chart shows teen pregnancy rates from 1960 to 2010, as you can see teen pregnancy is much lower today than it was in the 60s. So now we know that juvenile crime rates and teen pregnancy rates are lower, now lets look at teen drug useage rates. [Hidden Content] This chart shows teen drug useage from 75 to 06, as you can see teen drug useage also peaked in the mid 70s.. [Hidden Content] This chart shows the decrease in teen smoking from 75 to 08. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] These two charts shows the decrease in teen alcohol consumption. [Hidden Content] This chart shows the decrease in dropout rates from 60 to 09 So now we know that juvenile crime is down, teen pregnancy is down, teen drug use is down, teen smoking is down, dropout rates are down, and teen alcohol consumption is down(the legal age for alcohol used to be 18 so that probably has something to do with thay decrease), but that's not all recently some prominent US citizens have shed some light on thier past. The president is his book admitted to "attending class sparingly drinking heavily, and using drugs enthusiastically" A story came out that Mitt Romney held a "presumed gay kid down and cut his hair off( I am skeptical of this story). Shawn Hannity said that there was a fight every day at his high school. I don't know about your high school, but at mine we didn't have a fight every day(try once a month maybe) we didn't have kids that never went to class, we didn have kids drastically bully other kids, and we had very few kids that drank heavily and used drugs enthusiastically. So I guess you were right about one thing I don't have the experience, but I dang sure got the evidence. Looking at the facts I would say it is pretty clear that kid todays are not worse than they were in the past actually according to the stats they are better. Today's kids are committing less crimes, having less babies, smoking less, drinking less using drugs less, and staying in school more than kids in the past.

but at mine we didn't have a fight every day(try once a month maybe)
Idk what school you went to but both high schools i went to ( and i'm only 2 years older than you) there were fights every day and sometimes two or three fights in a day
we didn't have kids that never went to class
seriously? did you go to a catholic school or something? my class started out at 394 our freshman year and by the time i left (middle of junior year) we had less than 300 left in school and my school i graduated from lost almost 50 kids in less than 2 years.
we didn have kids drastically bully other kids
Vidor hit list about 7 years ago. Nuff said. (if you don't know the story look it up)
we had very few kids that drank heavily and used drugs enthusiastically
i'm seriously beginning to think you went to a catholic school or something man. Now a days its rare if you actually made it through high school without drinking or experimenting with drugs. Now idk where you went to school at falcon but this is how it is in the two high schools i went to.
Went to Huffman high school and yes we had very few fights, and the fights we did have usually didn't happen on school grounds. If you missed more than 9 classes a semester you failed end of story. We did not have major bulling issues, of course some kids were picked on, but it was nothing drastic. We had very few kids that drank HEAVILY, and used drugs ENTHUSIASTICALLY. Yes kids experimented, but that is different than doing it every day.
Well no offense to you falcon but just because it has been your experience doesn't make it the only way it is. Maybe in small towns like huffman it is still like that but go to a big city school like beaumont or houston or dallas and you will see the difference. 30 years ago we didn't have cops giving out tickets to kids every day.
I never said it was the only way it is. I know the problems of inner city schools very well. Btw maybe they should've had cops giving out tickets 30 years, because juvenile crime today is way down and whatever they're doing seems to be working.
Obviously you don't. ::) Or do you simply choose to ignore them.
How so ??? Where did I say there weren't problems in schools? Maybe you need to reread my post. The only thing I have ever said is the kids today are no worse than kids in the past, and the facts support that.
And if you truly believe that then you are beyond help and this conversation is over.
I'm leaning more towards the first one.
it was directed towards the fans. Particulary the fans that have the solution for every problem your team faces. I read one comment, that said Lumberton "needs to change their offense because they need to come up with their own style," or something along those lines. So because two other teams run the same offense in your district, you cant run it? Currently that probably is the best fit for Lumberton from what ive been hearing.
I would say the same thing but some people just don't get the concept of the slot t or offenses similar to it. They just see it as a offense that doesn't pass much at all therefore they dog it. -
Sorry octfeb, but you haven't done it by way of SC. Until such time I suppose we are all at a standoff :)
So what your saying is that the only way someone can earn respect in your eyes is to beat you? I'm just trying to get this right. -

Beltway Boyz are kicking AZZ and taking names this fall !!! I could give a rat's butt about the my little pony's tradition ! Ya'll ain't played us.
No they haven't. They gave you a change with there little brother's (aka Magnolia) and yall couldn't even stay within 20 points of them. And yall think yall can hang with Dayton. SMH. ::)
Check your stats bruh, we spanked Magnolia's butt ! And if your thalking about Mag West, the kids didn't lose that game( wink, wink),lol. Changing the subject, who is Matt Thomas ? Rest in peace young man
The kids didn't lose the game? Last time i checked they played the game therefore they lost lol. I would understand if you were saying that and the game was won by say a field goal but 20 points is quite a statement. And as for the story of Matt Thomas i will PM that.
Going to be a lot different this year.
That's what they all say. ;)
Just like all the Dayton fans talk about "their home turf" :P
Except Dayton has proven it. They have evidence backing there smack talk. Yall don't. 8) -

Come on 19-4a don't go hiding now!!!
Exactly!
Congrats. You beat a 3 seed.
By 15 points! That's not beating. That's humiliating!
Humiliating???? That should make the KIDS feel good!! Not sure why you would want to degrade the young men from Crosby. The first game could have easily went the other way. The second game LCM came out on fire and played extremely well. We should remember that these kids read these post as well. Show some respect for the kids and the game. Congrats to Crosby and LCM on a good year. Good luck in the next round.
That was not meant towards the kids TEL. I was directing that at the poster who tried to degrade LCM's win by saying something about crosby being a 3 seed. I'm sure those kids did a great job and they should be proud for making the playoffs. My apologies if i crossed the line.
Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I just don't like seeing grown up's trashing kids on here. Thanks, and good luck to LCM!
TEL, these posters from LCM are kids. Just FYI. at least the ones in this thread are.
Ok, thanks.
Why is it relevant the age of the LCM posters when it was a Vidor fan who made the comment??
I can guarantee you that i am no kid lol. And what does it matter about the age anyways. I've seen some kids with more maturity than some of the posters on here.

Nederland's main concern will be complacency due to overconfidence.
I don't think the teams in 20-4A will allow them to get too overconfident.
These kids are the hardest working group I have seen in a while and if everything and everyone stays healthy, It will be amazing what they can achieve. Underclassman are strong and push the Veteran Varsity players to a whole nother level. It will be interesting. Also, note the Seniors on down are all the beneficiaries of Junior League Football in Nederland(STJFL) started by Troy Jones a few years ago. To me, the league he built has turned a profit for the Dogs. When it started, everybody and their dog signed up to play. These kids have been taught, pushed and played long enough to be instinctively great on the football field. Thanks Troy Jones....the Dogs appreciate your vision!!!
I'm not taking anything away from your team, I believe they will be good, just as I believe that Vidor will also. But as I said they are playing in 20-4A and no one will just lie down and give them the title or allow them to just show up and they win. As I stated 20-4A will not allow anyone to be overconfident. Good luck to your team.
That is a very good point. We can sit here and talk all this trash and name all these people that we have coming back and underclassmen moving up and all that but we all should know that anything can happen on a Friday night. Injuries happen and people who weren't supposed to be good can change some minds. That's just a fact when it comes to Texas High School Football. 8)
I know you're right, and everyone who has been around or apart of sports, know it only take one injury to the right player on any team and it can change your whole season. And there's always that team that ends up surprising everyone. And in a district that has so much talent, it does'nt leave much room for error. 8)
If you notice, I do say everytime if all stay healthy. What is meant to be, will be. Dogs are set to have a tremendous season, and OF COURSE, 20 4A is tough. Dogs are very optimistic and have a HUGE target on their backs, as well they should. They are the team to beat and I WILL say this AGAIN, I WOULDN"T WANT TO SEE THIS DEFENSE coming after me!!!! It is keeping every offensive coordinator in 20 4A awake at night ;D GO DOGS!!!
The same could be said about Montana Quirante and Stevenson, Novak, and Moore next year. -
