1. Bryce Cooper, safety, is getting looks and so is Blake Dalenburg, DE/TE and Johnboy Smith, DE/TE. Other than that nothing really. And i'm sure Jakobi Jones, Ozen RB, is gonna get some looks also.

Might be wrong, but thought the region did the district schedule. Anyone know ?
The district schedule is created by the district coaches/district executive committee.  It is usually done by a draw.
Let's see; we'll play Nederland in Nederland and PNG at Indian Stadium again this year because that's the way it always is....
Actually we switch. All the home games we played this year will be away and vice versa so it will be Nederland home Lumberton away Ozen home Central home PNG home Livingston away LCM away
 3. i can not believe you posted this video man.
WOW, you speak the truth! ;D Good team, could be a great team but it would require them to utilize the entire team and not just 3 out of the 5 players on the court.  Should be the game to watch.
IMO it all depends on our defense and who can step up and tonight besides jacks, jones, and richmond. And if Richmond can keep from fouling out also.
 5.
Kats still have Haywood, Jacko, and I think a few others ???....might take another year to get right again, but you never know. As for bottom dwellers.... I doubt that :P
My bad. I forgot about Haywood and Jacko. Haywood sure is fast. Broke a fast one on us last year if i remember right. And Jacko's playing speaks for itself. But I don't think that'll be enough to make much noise in your new district.
 6.
Concerning Vidor's football schedule as part of this discussion was about it, the fact is that a lot of teams would not give us a home and away, not that he wanted to play weaker teams. Jeff had to pick teams that would play us and COME TO VIDOR which used to be an issue. Texarkana Texas High is a state playoff caliber team that accepted the slot vacated by another school. I think the quality of teams in preseason is picking up especially adding Clear Brook and Santa Fe; I like seeing us get out of the area. We have a quality football program and community which we need to showcase outside of the Golden Triangle. Jeff will always play BC because he is an alum and wants that smackdown. Besides, they always put a good team on the field with the type of offense we face in 20-4A. Jeff Mathews and his staff have done more for Vidor in the last ten years than anyone else I can think of in the last fifty....and I'm a lifelong Vidorian. GO PIRATES!!!
Great post. I also am very happy that he finally went above our class level. I think its been like 4 or 5 years since we scheduled a 5A school. I'd love to see how we fare against them next year. And BC is always fun since they are right down the road and that makes for a great game and the fact that they run the offense that most of our district runs. Good luck to everyone next year and GO PIRATES!
 7. Went down to overtime and free throws last time. Will we see a barn burner like before or will it be a run away? Will Vidor come up with the victory and the tie for second place or will Central once again prove there dominance. My guess it Vidor by 3.

He was the best shooter i've seen come through Vidor in a while.
Yes, Cole was a starting underclassmen on that senior laden Vidor team that Beat Ozen 3 times in 1 year.  After all of those seniors left, Cole came into his own as a clutch player.  Although that team really wasn't as good as the year before, Cole commanded attention close to the end of games.
Noah did not start on the team who beat Ozen 3 times in 2004, but he did come off the bench for quality minutes. George did not even start on that team as a Junior until later that season. Vidor made the playoffs in Noah's Soph and JR seasons but fell one game short of the playoffs his senior year. He did not have a lot of help his Senior year.
MUST you put emphasis on "the team that beat Ozen 3 times in 2004"? ::) ::) ::) 8)
Truth hurts dickie  8)

Hell they could lose all there games and they would still make the playoffs because there LCM and they haven't missed a playoff birth since 2002. Dang. When the game was on the line, there was no doubt Coach English was going to him.
He was after George. He was only a sophomore when George was a senior. And if i remember right Cole was not to far behind Williamson on the ppg.
I remember Noah very well. Watched him play all 3 years. He was special in his own way, but when it comes to who I would want taking a last second shot to win a game, IMO, George is the man for that. I really don't think you can go wrong with either player.
True. Good point.

I don't think Boise State approached their BCS game against Oklahoma a few years ago when they were clearly the underdog, yet beat all odds and won the game. They were not afraid of their NAME only!
I think Vidor was picked a favorite in 3 games maybe this year in football and yet they went 10-3 and to the 3rd round of the playoffs. Odd's don't mean a thing.
they had a good year, but realistically, they still had no chance to make it to state.  the same holds true for our teams out of 20-4A this year.
We were in the playoffs, therefore we had a chance at one time. Ned is going to the playoffs, therefore they have a chance. It doesn't matter how small of a chance. They still have one.

 23. No offense to k ville but they will more than likely be the bottom dwellers this year. Unless they have some major talent coming up because, IMO, they lost the only decent guy (lil will) to graduation.
