Yes, the 4th spot will be a little weak going up against a BARBERS Hill or Dayton. But, it's better than sitting at home.  ;D 20-4A has been one of the toughest districts in Texas girls basketball over the past few years. They say it comes and goes in cycles. We have the #1 team in the state with Ozen and a strong Central team. Vidor is very competative. It was only about 5 years ago when Lumberton took a trip to the state quarter finals. Our girls are trying hard and getting better. Who knows, we may even surprise Vidor tonight  ;D Good Luck Lady Raiders!
You certainly are one of the teams that could. Last game could've gone way different. But I think Jacks and #3 will not be so cocky as last time. Look out for Jones and #14 as well.

 6.
Who will break records this Year?
I believe David Bolinger will. He was a state contender last year and has bulked up since then. Gained like 30 pounds and pushed each of his bench, squat, and dead lift up by 50 lbs or more. I'm telling you he is on his way to break a new record and possible get himself a state championship.
 7. If they kicked a football player out for taunting then they wouldn't make it till halftime and teams wouldn't have enough players to play the game. IMHO taunting is just talk. when he starts to walk towards the guy or does something physical is when it gets to tech territory. But i also think the defenseless receiver and excessive celebration rules are the dumbest thing to ever be thought of in sports history.

Squats over 600, dead lifts over 600, benches close to 400.  Last squat without suit and knee wraps was 585.  We also have a few lower class weights that are monsterous as well. Look forward to the BC warm up event this weekend. Love watching all the kids from everywhere. Good luck to everyone out there.
I'll be there.

Undersized, under rated, lion hearted. Lead the district in rushing and second in team offense. Three rounds deep in the playoffs!! Dumb question.
Everything that you stated about vidors line could be said about Kelly's to. Not saying vidor didn't have a better line than Kelly I'm just saying it seems like both teams offensive lines were very alike. Under rated, undersized, and fought till the end every play. Both teams also had a potent rushing attack it seemed like anyone with decent speed could have gone in the Kelly backfield and picked up significant yards.
Here's a stat i bet you can't say about the Kelly line. In every single one of Vidor's game the offensive line was out matches by atleast 50 pounds per player and 2 games we were outmatched 100 pounds per player. That means each player had atleast 50 or 100 pounds less than the guy in front of them and yet they were still dominating. Here
I'll look up the stats tonight but it would not surprise me If Kelly was outsized by that much.
The fact that Kelly plays private school footbal means that it is highly unlikely they faced teams that out weighed them by 50-100 pounds, aside from the week they played Liberty they would have faced 300 lb Omar Tebo, and 270 lb Ryan Melton
Liberty wasn't even the biggest team they played. How many private school teams have you seen? Every team we played in playoffs was bigger than liberty other than TCA. And St Thomas and Pius were bigger to I think.
Oh, BTW, did I leave out the fact they were predicted to finish LAST in district?
we were picked to finish next to last in district and we made it to the state championship game
Vidor - 4A Kelly - Private School Nuff said.

You have about five different debates going at one time. Remember that this is about the 27 game district winning streak that Nederland currently has. You are bringing up all of these other years, which have no relevance to the debate at hand. If we stick to the facts, it suggests that Nederland would still have their win streak alive.
It is VERY relevant, because some of you act as if you have forgotten what Boutte has done here! NO...Nederland would not have won 27 games in a row had he still been at Ozen...NO WAY.. 8)
According to the facts presented here today, there is no evidence suggesting that Nederland's 27 game winning streak would not be what it is today regardless if Boutte was the coach or not. In the past 2 seasons during this streak, Ozen has not had the talents of: K. Perkins Keenan Young Brandon Chappel Willie Jefferson DeCarlos Franks Since Ozen has been 'down' over the past two season, like they were in 2004, Nederland would still have a 27 game district winning streak. I am not disregarding what Boutte did during his time, it was amazing. Nobody on this thread has said differently. But during his ONE down year, VIDOR swept them 3-0. For the 4th time, the kind of talent Ozen has now was just the same in 2004, when Coach E's team went 3-0 against Boutte. The same would happen with this Ozen team.
There is nothing factual about this statement other than there not being any "marquee" type players..Coach E's Vidor team was SECOND PLACE BEHIND OZEN IN THE STANDINGS TOO in 2004...Why is that FACT so hard for you to digest...COACH E's Vidor team LOST IN ROUND TWO OF THE PLAYOFFS...OZEN WENT TO THE REGIONALS AND LOST TO EVENTUAL CHAMPION HOUSTON JONES IN A "DOWN YEAR"...REPEAT...NEDERLAND WOULD NOT HAVE WON 27 GAMES IN A ROW IN DISTRICT IF ANDRE BOUTTE WAS STILL COACHING AT OZEN....Thats just it. Case closed...(because I am tired of talking about it!) 8)
Yes Ozen went further in the playoffs and yes they won district that year but they won district because they beat everyone else expect vidor (i think). Yes Vidor lost other games but the fact is that every time Boutte lined up against English he lost. That is a fact that you can't deny DV.
3 wins out of more than 25....Richard Hamilton (Florida St.) has beaten Coach K this year...should we give Coach Hamilton the nod for Coach of the Year? Makes no sense, huh? EXACTLY
College and High school are two different things man. To compare them like there the same thing is just showing your ignorance.  8)
No ignorance here...That is why I am walking away from this one...have a great day. Please, do not patronize me...I am simply telling you guys that we did not just roll the balls out and headed to Austin and win a state title, as some of you may THINK we did. 16.
200 yards in 3 quarter? You guys rushed for 221 for the game, does that mean you guys only rushed for 21 yards during the forth? What starter was out?? Rushing Name Att Yds Yds/Att Long TD David Bolinger 2 -3 -1.5 0 0 Brentyn Clark 15 79 5.3 0 1 David Smallwood 9 52 5.8 0 0 Austin Powell 1 1 1 0 1 Montana Quirante 4 27 6.8 0 0 Jeremy Stephenson 6 24 4 0 0 Justin Moore 6 41 6.8
Bolinger was out. He tried to play as you can see the 2 attempts but was still injured. And yes as many people have brought up we changed our offense in the fourth quarter when powell went in as the passer. So yes my numbers may be a lil off but if we didn't get 200 yards we were no more than 10 yards away from it.

 21.
Bud Crosby fans didn't make excuses we got beat because our team made mistakes and Vidor didn't . The closest thing to an excuse given was the fact that one of our 2 beast on our defense hurt himself and got knocked out of the game in the 2nd quarter. When vidor wins vidor fans will try to rub it in for hours. Dayton was probably more talented than Barbers Hill this year but issues and BH's option offense won vs Dayton Due to matchups. Honestly Vidor is a matchup problem for almost any team without a top notch defense... ala Angleton. It's like this is 19-4a would have gotten the matchups to suit them best it probably would have been PNG v Dayton, BH V Vidor (LB core was very good), Crosby v. Ozen (Very similar teams.) and GCM v Nederland (Mainly because nederland had a great defense vs a pretty good power run game.) However the matchup of Vidor vs Crosby is in favor of vidor because they simply didn't make a single mistake all game, and Crosby is an opportunistic team. I like how 40 times tend to matter to you guys, but honestly the thing that sets Austin Walker apart from other backs is his extreme quickness and his ability to cut back. Some of the better LB's in the region (BH) couldn't touch him let alone tackle him. Dayton had a very tough time with him as well. Vidor played well but we got down and just started throwing the ball so much it wasn't our offense anymore.
It still baffles me why yall did that. To be honest we wasn't stopping your running game so why try to go to the pass? Because yall were down so much? But that's just my opinion.
