High Island's boys were 1st overall and our girls finished 4th.

The score would only be 1-0 for a forfeit. They only give the lowest number of runs it would take to win a game. Same goes for football, but it would be 2-0 for a forfeit.

Any info on schools such as West Sabine, Zavalla, Broaddus, and Burkeville will be greatly appreciated? They are in our district in track but have not heard how they are doing this year?

They would really be loaded if the player off last years team had not signed to play in Spain after last season.

You can still become a teacher/coach with a degree in General Studies. After Graduation, that person can enter the Teacher Certification Program through the Region Center or go through an ACE certification program. There is nothing wrong with getting a degree in General Studies. Also is lets a person study in more areas, because you have to declare 3 fields of study. For instance my 3 fields were History, Criminal Justice, and Kinesiology.

2010/2011 season will be the first season..We have to finish off the last realignment.

Copeland was the MVP last year of this district.

The 2 girls did an outstanding job.

High Island will have a good one next year. His name is Mason Mounkes. He rushed for over 1200 yards this year.

Sounded like a good game until the 5th inning. 3 errors in one inning will almost always cost you a game. High Island was having to start a kid who didn't even think that he would pitch this year, because our #1 is out with the flu.

The 2 injuries sustained in High Island were on hustle plays. George got tangled up with Doanld Hooks not the alleged 30 year old ( Colt Hughes who is 18). As for the 2 in Spurger one kid rolled his ankle on a layup, and the one who had his head smashed was on a blocked shot attempt. He drove down the lane and slipped and when our played who tryed to block his shot came down he landed on him. It was not intentional or dirty. You can not change directions in mid air.

In our athletic program, if kids are caught with marijuana then they are automatically kicked off of the team. They can not start another sport until that sport is over. Case inpoint we kicked 2 of our best basketball players off of the team right after christmas, after they were caught with marijuana. If they are repeat offenders then their athletic future is done. They will be kicked out of the athletic program.

Well said Rebel Yeller... I know Chance and he is as strong as an ox. High Island has a kid who could make a run all the way to state in Lynn Harris.

Copeland had 21 for the Oilers. Tiner George had 23, Max Reho had 12, and Steve Landrum had 13 for the Cardinals. The Cardinals came out flat with West Hardin scoring the first 10 points of the game. The Cards went on an 8-1 run to end the quarter, and outscored the Oilers 24-9 in the second. Copeland got into foul trouble early in the 3rd and the Cards took advantage outscoring the Oilers 11-5. In the forth they traded baskets as both teams scored 14 in the final quarter.
