I don't think Chester is dropping football, but they don't have alot comming up at all. Heck we are in the same boat lol. Those 2 men are real stand up guys, but going from 1a Chester to 5a Lee might be to far a stretch.

This district will be a dog fight all the way through. In case no one has looked at the scores, there is no clear cut favorite to win it. One game goes to overtime, one decided by 5, and the other by 9. Looks to me like it is going to go down to the wire.

HD 60 HI 55 Good game by both teams. HI was 3-18 from 3. #24 from HD had the game of his life. HD needed everyone of his points.

Bridge City 64 High Island 56 Good game by both teams. Very physical. High Island was down by 16 in the 3rd quarter and came back to get within 3. Bridge City hit their free throws in the end. Again High Island played short handed with only 7 players.

Very well said big time...You can't gauge how your team is going to do against another team in this district until the game is played. There might be different reasons why one team beat the same team that your team lost to. It will be put up or shut up time starting next friday. Good Luck to everyone.

Very good game by both teams. In the second High Island had as much as a 15 point lead. Game was close into the 4th but Deweyville hit free throws and High Island turned the ball over.

Andrews had 4 threes and then hit 12 free throws. He was not 6 of 9. I want to say he was 4 of 12 from 3.

High Island lost by 6. Another physical game. A player for Luthern South was ejected in the 3rd quarter for intentionally tripping one of our kids on a break away. The same kid elbow our starting center in the eye and busted a gash open. We just have to find a way not to start out so slow. Luthern South 56 High Island 50

This was a very physical game to say the least. Warren jumped out to a big lead, but High Island fought back. The rust from an almost 2 week lay off hurt the Cards more than Warren's game did. The first half was very flat for the Cardinals, but the second half was way better and they showed the intensity and spirit that they showed the previous 6 games. The halftime score was 35-11, but the second half is was as even as you could ask for, 30-30. #2 can stroke it that is for sure. He singled handedly broke the Cards run going 12 for 12 from the free throw line in the 4th.

Anytime you graduate 8 seniors off of a 2A basketball team, it is going to be a rebuilding year. They lost 2 of the best athletes in SETX off of their squad, Tramain and Vance. Give Coach Andrews a year with all of those underclassmen and they will right back to where they were. They have a varsity loaded with underclassmen and a tremendous class comming up from the 8th grade.

They do, I was going by who had started at the beginning of the year. Actually they have 3 LB's comming back and all 3 are pretty dang good, but one is going to be a beast, if not next year then when he is a junior.

High Island will be bringing back lot to the table. We only lose 5 seniors and 3 of those were 2 way starters. We return 3 linemen, our tailback, all of our recievers. 6 return on offense. 8 will return on defense. We will have 4 DL, 1 LB, and 3 SEC back.

People just hate to say that Lamar just beat them. That's sad. There always has to be an excuse.

What about that HJ team that set all of those scoring records? I figure they have to be mentioned. I think it was around 90 or 91.
