Jones, Nate Archibald, Bill Russell, Cornbread Maxwell, Dennis Johnson, Tom Heinsohn, John Havlicek, DAve Cowens, Don Nelson, Kevin McHale. OH, and, of course, Greg Kite ( I wonder if he went to Yates)
Might as well. His school was real close and probably shared some magnet school functions back then ;) -

Exactly! ;) ;D ;D
If I was in the room with LeBron, Kobe, MJ, Bird, Magic, Auberbach, Jackson, Krzyzewski, I wouldnt have to ask who it is. Pretty sure you are not yet in that crowd.

So, I'd like an answer to my previous question: who / how develops the player.......hmmm?
Parents, coaches, siblings, friends, neighborhood kids, self (notice I did not mention government ;) ). It starts at a young age. From little dribblers to the driveway to middle school and high school. I don't think one person or entity can take credit for one's development. AAU is where kids can improve their in game skills and decisions, but I wouldn't give AAU credit in developing players per se.
Well, actually government is a part of any public school...hmmm :) So I guess we take out middle and high school >:( Nah, just kidding. But you're right , no one single entity is to take credit. It s a combination of things that work together as a team. So we really can't knock the other ( AAU, middle school, high school, etc) because its a team effort. Good point Abe. I rest my case!

I know my friend DV is quite busy around this time so I thought it would be interesting to put a little pressure on him when he returns. DV, why aren't you guys keeping Texas recruits in Texas??? 8) [Hidden Content]

Keeath Magee recommended to be new Ozen HC
BLUEDOVE3 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The subject is relevant because Ozen is concerned with cleaning up it's image and reputation due to recent events. So maybe they hired a man the exuded discipline and character instead of someone with a winning record. They need someone to be able to deal with kids who dont have an advantageous situation or structure at home. So its not highjacking it's just a few people arguing opinions on a discussion board.
Finally!!! We get to the most likely real issues ............. -
That's the most spot on post I've seen in a while describing AAU. It's a great place for DV and others to find good players, and it's good as a high level of competition.
I've also been told by the 'powers that be" that summer ball is their best evaluation time for players based on its the closest measurement to college ball, as far as speed of the game, defense, leadership and of course scoring. So yall can sit there and knock summer ball all you want to, it is what it is!!!! I learned either you accept it and deal with it or get left behind in the past.

Actually I was trying to bait those Central supporters again. Its gonna be tough this upcoming season to make them believe they gonna win State. But with that sharp shooter transfer, Central can't take Nederland lightly.

Nash, I have no problem with Nederland reloading for next season. That's Central's problem. ;)

I was only referring to Central being in trouble winning district next year because Nederland is reloading & getting a new player (s) (according to summer ball chit'lin circuit news). :-X
