I think last year Central GAVE Nederland 1st place
More like scared to play Nederland. I call that a forfiet.  ;D
LOL!

 5.
A terrible season was expected with 8 new guys on the roster and no real shooters from last year's team. Knight also has said it was a mistake publicly about the schedule. Just a reminder Lamar's worst team ever was Jack Martin's 1967 team (5-19, 0-8). Two years later they were (20-4, 6-2). Let's see if there's an improvement next year. Two years from now they could very well be back on top.
They can do it. Just that bad cycle coming around.
They have a 6'4 or 6'5 post named Jarret Stidham, that is their tallest player and thy will run when they have the chance, but they don't like to. That is what a friend of mine from Stephenville told me. He told me that this 3A stuff was easy.  ;D I told him he had no idea what he was talking about. ;D ;D
He probably looked at HJ's schedule...................... sorry HJ'ers, I could not resist. ;)

 9. Dickie, I'm very curious and maybe you can enlighten us on the process college recruiters (like yourself) have as you travel around the country looking at talent. For example, I'm guessing at your university your looking towards the future in filling spots for the next 1-3 years. Also, what are some of the main things you hone into to determine if a kid fits your team concept?

It's the day after tomorrow. ;) Yates people still saying this game will not happen and never was to begin with, at least not on their end. ;)
I've heard otherwise Aggie from someone who knows WAY more about hosting warmup games than anyone on this site and have talked DIRECTLY with Coach Joubert. Like I said before the matchup came from somewhere. Why are you so interested or concerned that you felt the need to contact them?  ::)
;D

I think Ozen is a very good team.  The Ozen players and fans know it.  They do not need some random Vidor fan confirming it. Vidor has a good team.  This may be the best Vidor girls BB team in history.  But the refs did not cost Vidor the game.  They got beat by a team that played better than them on Friday.  I just really hate to hear people complain about the refs.  Especially in a blow out!
Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see where anyone dismissed what you suggested. IMO, It's not right when a kid cannot participate in a sport at 100% bc his other sport is in off-season training. In addition, when other schools allow their student-athletes to move their athletic class from one sport to the next, (but other schools (like Nederland) do not allow that)),it affects all kids in that other sport. Also, when one school has two coaches in a sport, yet other schools have 4/5 coaches, that also is not fair to the kids in the program or the program itself. My kid currently plays two sports very well. He is not sure of which one he wants to pursue when he reaches HS. He would like to do both, but he may not have that choice. Is that fair to him?
I agree with some of the things you have said but "Talent" on the basketball court "NO".  The teams from 2006-2007 like Silsbee, Orangefield, WOS, Kirbyville, Hamphire Fannett, Lumberton, Central and Hardin Jefferson could beat Ozen, Central and Vidor with no problem. There is nobody in this area with the talent like Brittany Scott, Brittany James, Chelsey Pickering, Courtney Wilson,  Katie Sanders, Kristy Sanders and Ang Green. There is a lot more I can mention. I have seen Ozen play and was not impressed. By the way it was against Orangefield and they beat us pretty bad.
You forgot KK Little, but I'm not surprised ;)
And I'm sure you could find some teams and players back in 1967 who could beat the 2006-2007 teams  ::)
