If powell and harper get hot from outside kountze will pull the upset....  only thing kountze cant match with yates is height......
From what I am hearing from the Yates folks, this game ain't happening.
I can  believe this. It does not benefit Yates to play Kountze.
Well, maybe one or two more quality wins  ::) just don't get it for right now. I guess TABC read this forum.  ;D
TABC know's the deal!  ;) :D
LOL!!!

 6. I thought Harmon and Bosha did a good job representing HJ.

 9. And speaking of Winslow, The Houston Hoops are definitely taking advantage of his basketball exploits on the Hoop web site.  And Justin Jackson.
 10.
Just was told from a source. Its about a 60 percent chance this game will take place Kountze vs houston yates
I'm calling my source  ;)
 11. I just don't see this happening. Yates vs Kountze
 12.
He is playing at St. John's...SPC league... ::) ::)...He is talented, but SUPER SOFT, and though he would be an above average talent in 4A/5A, he would not stand out as spectacular as he is now.  I saw him in November and was not impressed. He COULD have taken over the game against MUCH less talent, but just floated along and blended in..He was not that good then.  HCYA's Justin Jackson, is a really talented player with great upside as well, but once again, that home-school league is not helping his game either. Summer ball will hopefully save them both. Yes Bluedove, AAU is STILL the devil, but it is a necessary evil for some!  8)
"Summer ball will hopefully save them both. 13.
It maybe because of the three takedowns Lumberton players had on the Central players in Lumberton,or for the one player that got ejected for taking ToeToe down by the neck while he was trying to dunk.
Sounds like the Vidor player throwing elbows and pushing an opponent in the back during an attempted layup.

I see the need to speed up the game. I also understand allowing high school coaches to use more strategy in order to win games. I guess Plump (real guy from Hoosiers) doesn't get out much bc he believes recruiting doesn't happen at the high school level! ;D
Definitely some good points on both sides. The most interesting point that struck me and I've never given it a thought at the high school level are the ticket sales /fan support and high scoring games.
I'm not convinced that is the reason for low attendance, bc I have never heard anyone complain about that, u? I notice a larger turnout when the game means more (PNG, Central, Ozen). We have a great turnout for most home games, but there is definitely a spike in attendance when we play more competitive teams. But that is the same with all sports in all towns. I don't think a shot clock is NEEDED in HS Bball, but I would not oppose it, if one is implemented into the game. Should be at least 35 secs.
Yep, not saying it would hep attendance either. just never heard that reason for a clock before. Texas will be the last State to implement a clock  :D but I'd go for 30 seconds.

 16.
I just I'll be the first one to throw the question out how many more losses would ozen and central have over the past couple years if they weren't too scared to use the same district refs? From what I've heard only 4 or 5 schools use this chapter so one could easily say Beaumont ISD is employing these refs because they are only reffing Beaumont games. Now if they want to prove everyone since this is the schools last good year why don't just for one game, like the 2nd place game next Friday, agree to let another chapter like Baytown ref the game? It's just hurting Ozen and Central seeing the same refs and they will both only go two rounds deep because of it Oh and for Bluedove I'm neutral and even I could see that if #14 wanted to she could have mugged #3 and had nothing called.
OMG! This is worse than I expected. LOL!!! I do know on the boys side its been tried and tested; the same results - losses!!!
 17.
Bluedove were you even at the game? Yes the older jacks was not a 100% so that played a little effect. Now to say the refs weren't bad is total bs when multiple players have said the refs were talking crap to them during the game. You and chocky may say the refs were fine in this game but it just proves how big of homers y'all are cause ain't no one but an ozen fan would say that.
Ozen fan? LOL! Dude, I'm somewhat of a basketball purist. Refs are part of the game and they will make bad calls, its human nature. Don't make the turnovers, don't make stupid defensive plays, don't miss the opportunities afforded you in the games, stop the stupid fouls, etc. Now do you get it? Practice, work and focus on the things you have control of with your team. Take a survey in team sports, very seldom do you find winners complain about refs when losing. They just complain about the coaching  :D
 18.
i didn;t mention the refs in round  one.since the refs were suppose to have gotten paid,i guess in round one they did not get there bonus check.Lol!
Usually when there is a blowout, refs ain't got nothing to do with the outcome. Just need to look at yourselves as a team and coach and realize there is still a lot work to be done by both parties. Its just that simple. ;)
 19.
vidor was defeated before the game even started.Their star (jacks) was not ready, something was bothering her(hamstring, cramps?)so that left them with one player(Blair) shots were not falling. They had a bad game. That happens.Ozen Rawls 30 pts. Jones 21 pts having a  good game.Even Vidor coach said that his girls were scared.
And thanks for not mentioning the refs
 20.
Looks like based on the score he could have put his 3rd string in at half or 3rd period.  Still not sure why you want to press and run up the score with a min left.
This is not biddyball anymore.  The coach had the opportunity to get his bench some real condition game playing time. Thats better than practice.
 21.

All this game proved is as far as 20 4A is concerned Ozen is way ahead of the pack. ;D
And Vidor still needs a lot of work  ;)
Work at what? Paying the refs? cuz thats all we saw last night. Get outta here with all that bluedove.
Refs? Thats what  teams use as an excuse whenever they lose. And by 30-40 points?  I bet if Vidor had made their shots, less turnovers, less bad passes, etc, you would have lost by a smaller margin.
 22. Winslow and Jackson will go high D-1 because  of their size, skill level, scoring ability, and other intangibles.  They will work on toughness later when they get to college. It is what it is. They won't pass up on these kids. Just because Dickie said he played soft is not a negative comment. I bet Dickie hears that a lot  among his cohorts about players.
