They are better than moat 3A teams but I think a team from 213A will upset them.
Yates is not as good as in the past, I agree. But Yates is still above most public schools in Texas. Yates can match Silsbee's speed AND they are big and athletic. It is what it is!!
Yates is beatable this year.  It will take a great effort to pull it out but it isn't impossible.  Yes size is their BIG advantage.  After seeing them earlier this year,  I feel my Tigers have a slight edge in speed.  If you get Yates starters in foul trouble,  there is only one or two players left on the bench with any significant size.( if they are still starting the same five)  if they are starting those same five,  their ball handling skills were not great, granted this was the first game of the year.
I agree with you 100% ;)

 3. I knew there was a good explanation for HJ beating Longview ;D  I was telling a friend at the game how the Longview coaching style was a good match for his team. Didn't do a lot of over coaching and let his team play
 4.
Finally will be off from work so I can see them play. What time does Central play tomorrow?
Looks like 4:30 against winner of Lake Charles vs Westbrook
 5.
Longview had their football players when they played HJ!!!!!
The football players had the flu that week and didn't play. :D
 6. Yates is too big. Plus they are just as athletic and fast as Silsbee
 7. You could tell Longview had their football players back ;)
 8. SEC school and a couple more watching from the sideline.

 14. I think the elite kids have enough pressure on them with school, homework, practice, people (kids and grown-ups trying to discredit their accomplishments, etc, etc, bah-h-h-h!!! For the adults and the few kids  ::) who read this forum, if a kid is getting looked at by college scouts, be very thankful. Maybe your kid will get a look too, if he or she is prepared for the opportunity. When the colleges come look at Tony Brown or the WO-S defensive backs ( and D.Thompson's dad is a friend), all the kids benefit. This is all that matters. Some players who only heard or read about their peers being recruited now actually see it happening. Just make sure you keep your kid 's eye on the prize
 15.
I have no choice but to respond with:  I predict that Central will win the tourney- if they do not win it, they will advance further in the tourney than the Panthers
Lets hope you are wrong
 16.
As difficult as it is, since this is that special time of the year,, I must wish my half brother, Da Dove a Happy Holiday Season ( note the liberal leaning omission of Christ) in this greeting.
:'( Happy Holidays...my brother from another mother!!!!
His many connections informed him that Ozen will be the victor.
No, I only predicted Central won't win ;)
 18.
They could meet in the championships.
It would be the perfect storm.

Dravanti had a great soph. and jr. season received a full ride to Texas before his senior season. Alot was expected from him his senior season. When he made a mistake people over reacted. When teams made a game plan I am sure it did not involve attacking Dravantis side.Chris Guttieres had a great season playing the middle LB position.Chris had more tackles than Dravanti in games.I saw a similar situation play out with Jordan Wood this year.He was the only unanimous defensive first team all district pick his soph. year. His junior year he was first team all district and super team member his junior year. Alot expected of him his senior season. He also played outside most of the time. Stampley had a awesome season playing a full year at middle LB position and deserved every honor he received. He had around 150 tackles and Wood had around 120.When giving out superlative awards linebackers off the same team are not a common site. Dravanti and Jordan had a hard getting the tackle totals from the outside.Just because they did not have the stats does not mean they did not play well!
DJ was the 3rd best player on that defense behind Grogan and Guitierez.  I remember the Waller game when Grogan was playing out of his mind and Dravanti got all kinds of rewards and was named player of the week by multiple sites.  Grogan sacked the Qb and the ball flew up the air into DJ's stomach and he ran 25 yards for a TD.  Later Grogan stood up the QB, stripped him and ran 80 yards for a TD.  Grogan made both of those huge plays, but DJ got all of the press.  The AP 4a defensive MVP was a joke.  There is no way the MVP should come off a team that lost 63-0 to Dayton and didn't make the playoffs.  The AP writers vote by how many stars a kid gets while the local coaches actually watch film.  The hype is sometimes greater than the substance with major D1 recruits.
Would you also agree  that college coaches see something in kids that fit their mold for an athlete and their college systems? You see *good* high school players all the time who are good in high school, but don't have the tools to play major college D1 ball.
 22.
Hightower gets the 1st round bye, guess because they're the defending champs!
PALife, you and me buddies. So I was figuring yall set up a nice decent (HJ TYPE SCHEDULE) for the Bmt. teams against the Houston teams :)
 23.
Go Jags! 8) 8) 8)
Souljah, just remember I told you last week at the game that the Jags have peaked and now it's time to feel some pain
