1. Aggie, is Ozen on Silsbee's  preseason schedulel this upcoming season? IF so what gym?
 2. Well at least you're not a consolation winner
 3.
Dove- did the playoff system become watered down when they added the fourth, third, or second team?
Kinda like winning the Silver Bracket in a tourney. But you made Silver because its where all the losers go from LOSING in bracket play, and you weren't go enough to play in Platinum Bracket. Silver and third spot is still a losers bracket.
 4. And Nederland would still have bragging rights finishing 4th, because of the watered down playoff system. 8)

Therefore saving myself from living on crow in basketball season.
You know why I like you? Cause you're a funny guy! Since there is no clear favorite for the 4th spot, Vidor could surprise us all. If I recall, Vidor was young last year, no? In addition, it was Larry's 1st season as HC. The Pirates should be more competitive for sure. I still think it will be between Livingston and PNG, but it's truly up for grabs.
Naw, you know whats really funny???? Nederlend gets the 4th spot  ;D

Brook will not get past North Shore and those Houston area schools. Most schools making playoffs should not be or make playoffs in these modern times. UIL or whomever has a liberal playoff system. What is it, five teams get to go in 5-A? The whole basketball system is watered down from playoffs to teams, to talent, etc. So what you may think is a good team.......well. ......... time will tell.
Oh!!!! So you like the CONSERVATIVE approach?? Wait until Nash reads this!!  ;D ;D
LOL! Yeah I know. I do believe in earning it!!!! Nash knows. But in relation to basketball, so much of this stuff is watered down and no true competitive playoff teams.

 8. Still gotta get past North Shore and that ain't happening. So Westbrook will end up playing a top 5-A team out of Ft.Bend, Cy-Fair or Clear Lake area & bust.
 9. Depending on the contract, legally binding so maybe it wont make a difference - depending on what's being offered.
 10. Lumberton has a good group of kids coming up. Keep working.

Size may be a issue against 1-2 teams until football is over. We then add Couron and Washington who are both 6'4" with big bodies. In addition, Kimler brings athletecism to the team. He will likely be a defensive specialist. He gave K. Smith fits last season when the two teams played in Nederland. Last year's team started without any returning starters and only 2 players with varsity experience. Taking all of that into account, I like our chances: 1. Nederland 2. Central 3. Ozen Soulja-From what I've been told, Ozen only returns Jakobi Jones, D. Sams, and Alex 'Duck' Williamsms from last years team. Jones and Williams were starters while Sams moved up from JV mid year and came off the bench.
We'll just have to wait and see about that......
Sorry if I missed other players. The information I received was from a reliable source. Please add more players if there are additional returning lettermen.
I don't think thats what she meant ;)
::) My point was just what Soulja said.. Ozen used to get every kid with basketball talent to go there.. The fact that there is even a question to where they are going should tell you enough.
Actually, Central alums  :-X are doing a good job of promoting their school,as they should.

 14.
The realignment that went into effect this sure definitely helps both of their chances. Matchups are always important, so it depends on who is lined up in front of them. Kingwood Park and Humble seem to be good every year. Humble has a new head coach. Will be interesting to see what he brings to the table. Definitely helps all 4A teams in the region since Yates, Jones, and LaMarque dropped to 3A. Still have to deal with Dawson too, I believe. Silsbee has a good shot too since they only lost 1 (maybe 2) player to graduation. In a one game contest, I think Silsbee could beat them on a good night. Silsbee's outside shooting has definitely improved since last year, which will help them immensely. And you can never count HJ out of the equation. They tend to 'reload' as good as anyone in the area.
Humble will not be in the race this year.  They had their chance last year & blew it.
 15. What about LCM? What do they have this year?
 16. Trust me, Ozen is young with babies.

They will have the most experienced players. Ozen will be too inexperienced this season but will have the most speed out of all the other teams in the district. Ozen and Livingston will be battling for for 3rd and 4th spot. Ozen is just too young to make any noise this year. So, just take Ozen off the radar. Plus Ozen has several players leaving the program this year to attend other schools. On top of this, the top freshmen are reported to be enrolling into Central. Looks like Central will win State this year.
Is that a confirmed fact?
Even I'm not buying that one.  You must not have seen our 'staff' in action.  8)
From what I saw last year most of the coaches in this district are good coaches.

Does anyone know for sure if he will play basketball for Livingston this year?
They gonna need more than Collins.
 23.
Yes J'Covin brought him down there in the post a few times.  But he also taught him how to defend in the post too.  He was talking to him too.  Jekore is a high riser Dove.  if these kids thought they had hops, then he showed them that they needed work.  J'Covin threw 2 or 3 alley hoops from half court to him.  After they played then they took them over for dribbling drills.  We are trying to move the workouts to the Rec Center for a few weeks, because they are getting the gym floors together.  You're boys really enjoyed Port Arthur.  My son has a good time with them.  Thats whats it is all about, these young boys establishing relationships/friendships that will last a life time.  And having one common goal, GETTING AN EDUCATION BY USING BASKETBALL, NOT LETTING BASKETBALL USE THEM.
See, thats the thing I really enjoy about this whole basketball thing. These kids are bonding and making lifetime friends thru this sport. Yep, the younger one been staying overnight in PA too much. Some girl also keeping his attention..sheez! ;D
hows Jekore Tyler doing?  i seen him since lee college
Is he the one at UAB? Heard he was killing the young pups too.
