1. No, not at all. I was speaking of competition between mids and majors
Seeing as baseball is a thinking mans sport, probably a good idea.
Looks to me like baseball is one of those games where the mid majors can come and play the big D-1's anytime and compete. Don't think brains plays a major part as some would think.
 3.
Baseball is NOT the most popular sport in Houston...Lets take a poll of people who are actually FROM there and know the deal...I will start...HERE! ;)...anyone else? 8)
I second!
Really? Lets do this, man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 6.
I would say after Football, that Baseball is second in Houston and Basketball would round out at 3.  Houston has always been big baseball.
nOPE!
 7.
They should show class even if Wise didn't. BEANBALLS AND HARD FOULS WOULD STOP SOME OF THE LACK OF CLASS!
It is what it is.... Only a select few really cares about Yates losing by such a wide margin in baseball.

Please, nobody keeps up with that sport in Houston.
Craig Biggio and St. Thomas high gets alot of attention. 11.
Well it should not be about the coach making a name for himself, just make the kids believe in themselves and everything will workout.IMO
Good point! Hopefully the hiring committee will see whose for real and not.
 12. You know, you never know who people know. I actually had a college coach to call me about  Ciara ;)  :-X

 17. You guys take the fun out of high-5's. Might as well condemn them as well
 18.
You guys are correct.  I was thinking of the basketball position being tied into teaching.  But I don't see people like Wise having a full teaching load! LOL And the statement of basketball knowledge and competency might help...really all depends on where you are applying.  I know some hut hut schools that want dumb basketball coaches.  Easier to run over.
Greg Wise teaches a class @ Yates!!!!!
 19.
Poppa- Your last sentence is the key.  None of these kids are going to the NBA and will need to know how to "make it" in the outside world.  The very ones of which you speak have a head start in that respect.  They already know that pounding your chest, making the slit throat sign, and grasping what's just below one's belt will not get them anywhere.
::) I have some homeboys who you have just described when they were young. (pounding chest, etc.) One grad from Stanford, another from U of H, and several other players from various schools. One is a millionaire and the others are upper class middle class workers. They turned out alright.
 20.
He moved for baseball because there was no chance he would be able to play for Nederland this year due to his own actions. Trouble at HJ and move; trouble at Nederland and move; now to Vidor, where will he go next year?  Do we see a pattern here? First time might be bad judgement but second means lessons were not learned from the first move.  At some point you have to acknowledge there are similar re-occurring issues and address them!  Currently he has learned to run from all accountability.  It's a shame because he is a talented player with alot of future potential but not if he doesn't correct the behaviors that have caused him to change schools.  There are life lessons that need to be learned outside of baseball.  My parents would have told me to live with the consequences of my actions....not moved so I could play sports.  Will be disappointed in Kyle if he lets him play this year knowing the kids history.  He could teach a lesson and have him play next year.
As in most cases, I'm sure there are two sides to this story  ;)
 21. Getting off subject. Again, congratulations to the boys at Barbers Hill. Truly a great accomplishment and I'm sure many more to more ;)
 22. Great job guys- even though you attend Barbers Hill ;D
Yes he will. Can manufacture points and make plays for others as well as anybody else in the draft
yep!And the G.P.A. to match;)
Dove- Since Mr. Browns high school career took place mainly at Kelly (equivalent to about a 3-a public school) how did he achieve all of this without playing "real basketball"?
Read what Aces-Full says about Brown. Brown was gifted with his talent long before he hit Kelly.
