1. HISD population takes on many types of students that most suburban and small town schools don't deal with. Language barriers, economic barriers, life at home barriers, mental issues, etc, etc.
 2. new best 3-A coming next season ;D
 3. Didn't realize HJ would be so young next year. Do you guys see any major players  stepping in to fill the void Sean P's departure will create? Will Bosh and Johnson have to carry the load next season? I still expect them to make playoffs.
 4.

So, HJ only losing two seniors, right? Will HJ be considered  a young team or veteran team?
HJ lost 7 Seniors, two starters and then 5 reserves who played limited minutes.  HJ will have SEVERAL, I repeat SEVERAL Sophomores on the Varsity team next year!!!  A few who may start.  Only two BIG minute players will come from Seniors next year.
OHHH MAN! This could put a major dent in the HJ program next year, though I still expect them to make playoffs
 5. And I still remain a biased fan against HJ ;D

 7. Just guessing but I'm sure the Waco team was or at least hope this team is heavy with seniors this year.
2 out of the 3 meeting, 'someone' brought their thinking cap and actually outdid the other guy on the other baseline.  If the 2 only times he decided to coach gets you 2 wins and a co-district championship and a win against the obvious choice, then in a sense him getting this recognition is warrented.
I think Coach English did the best with what he had to work with and most coaches could not accomplish this feat. Coach English got my vote.
 9.
I would have liked to have seen Coach Neil of Hamshire-Fannett get Coach of the Year.
I agree. Everyone knew Silsbee and HJ would do what they did. Through all the drama, the HF coach kept that team focused and made it to the playoffs.
 10. Where is La Vega located and do they have a history of making it deep into playoffs?
 11.
I love the knocks on Nederland from two ozen guys and one of whom is a Hamshire descendant.  Hilarious!  How many district championships have those two combined for over the last couple years? ::)
3-A will never be the same. No matter how many times you try and slice it.
Yeah, but winning the region and going to state is a whole other ball of wax!  ;)...Its an Exclusive Club.... ;D ;D ;D
Don't get overly impressed with that statement.  Lots of people here have experienced those things.  After Tiger Woods won his first US Amateur, I don't think anyone was suggesting to him that he did not have the capability of joining subsequently more "exclusive" clubs.
tHATS GOLF, all you do is hit that little funny looking ball into a hole, tear up the grass, kill poor defenseless little bugs, and wage bets.

Regionals and State trips are the goals *unlike a certain 4-A school in Mid-County where winning district is their ultimate goal ::) ;D I guarantee there are many other schools wishing they could have had the run HJ had this year. Turn your pain into the momentum for next season's championship run. NOW! Lord it's gonna be a long Spring/Summer.  ;D 8) TBH, I have no clue what Ned's Ultimate Goal may be. I would have to presume that Winning District is ONE of their team goals (as most teams probably have), but the Ultimate Goal would be the same as MOST teams (I would hope  ??? )? I'm sure every season provides different goals depending on the previous years success and returning players. I would guess that Ned's goals will be much higher next year than they were this year after losing so much. The same goes for Silsbee, HJ, Ozen, and Central. I would guess that Silsbee will probably have higher expectations than anyone considering all they are returning next year.
Sorry dawg, I assumed winning district was the ultimate goal for the mid-county fan base. Sorry!  ;D
Bluedove, you didn't actually think that they thought they could make a trip to state, did you? :o ;D ;D
Nah, winning district would be the climax. The community would be throwing parades, businesses would close, a mid-county holiday would proposed, and a key to the city. ;D

 18.
Where are all the football nuts on the basket topics??  Basketball nuts want to come on the football site and blather on about how weights training is specific to football and that Athletic Directors should promote all sports.  You  live in Texas which is in the south where football is dominant.  You have an education but are obviously not educated.  Do the math University of Texas had a profit of 89 million dollars this year in football so they can make millions of dollars in one home game.  Now in high school a football game will have the football team which can be as large as 100 members then you add on the cheerleaders, drill team and band.  That is a ton of students that are a part of every Friday night.  So when you pay Coach Price 80K to rebuild a athletic program the one with the most impact is football.  Dove you can move to another school and please do but it is always the same football is and always will be king.  If you find recruiting in High school acceptable but UOS workouts not then you are hypocritical.  ask DV to explain to you what that means
Reading is so FUN-DUM-MENTAL! Where have I said weight training is not acceptable?  ::)
You are correct, but "some parents" write or have a "very qualified sports trainer" write some excuse for their kid to not participate in the workouts.  At both the middle school and high school level, right Dove!  ::)
The person in question had to stop lifting weights based on doctor's orders, not a trainer because blood was found...........wow! Doctor said stop with the weight lifting for awhile. Someone at HF High (you maybe?) felt he was ducking from weights. He had been complaining about pain for awhile but he still did the weights. Now, do you really want me to bring this up......hmmm?  WOW! Sad! And at the middle school, the younger never stopped lifting. So what is your point, dude? 8)
 21.
This is the absolute stupidest arguement on this forum... It's this simple. Assuming that kids have a SIMILAR skill set, receive SIMILAR levels of coaching ( to better understand the game and it's situations ), and are afforded SIMILAR opportunities to play - THE BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER KID WILL ALWAYS WIN. Count on it. Now, can we please get back to who would be a good fit for the H-F athletic program...?
You forgot to include the older kids who for whatever reason were held back a grade ;)

 23. Here is the deal fellas.  I'm going to keep out  some things because I have no idea who reads the forum ::): Mr. Mann has connections in West Indies, Africa, etc. He helps kids find schools in America to get an education and play basketball. Basically getting a kid a better opportunity to make his life better. He approaches Mr. Summerball Coach for advice or directing a kid into a good program. There are other variations but you get the idea. Coaches are contacted .......... :-X
