2.
Did he play on the 7on7 team, and if so didnt they make it to the state tournament. He would have been an ineligible player then.
Its possible he could have gotten an age requirement waiver from  UIL during that time.

 4.
I lived in Houston for over 10 years, and I go there every week for business. Houston is very 'patchy'. You can have a $2M home on one street, walk 3-4 blocks, and have a 'rough patch'. The location where U of H sits is not considered to be one of the nicer parts of the city. I'm not 'dissin' the area, I'm just making an observation.
Huh? You need to get off the main roads and see those homes. Been there for years.
 5.
I agree with an earlier poster as this happens a lot with 19 yr olds. If a kid was held back a year in school prior to attending high school he would probably be 19 at some point during the football season. Once you make it to high school you only have four years of eligibility. Now, I do find it difficult to believe a soon to be 20 yr old didn't know his correct age.
Plus he has a late birthday, making him double grade exception
Yep, before you know Nash I'll be demanding mandatory urine test for all democrats ;D
Tests for Democrats?  I thought it was already established that they were not involved in those sort of activities?  Dont they spend most of their time making sure the environment is protected and that the "rich" don't stay that way? 16. I still believe in the *open gym* concept and playing 3v3 or 4v4. Nobody getting the *touches* to work on real game situations. Bad footwork, poor shooting form, lack of contact (kids missing too many layups due to lack of contact & playing  3v3 games) My extra 2-cents  8)
 17. The NBA, trainers, coaches, agents aren't going to Africa, China, etc, etc for nothing. They're building bridges.
 18.
Well, these boys are from Africa, so it may be true that they need Yates Magnet school expertise in communications. The fact that they are 6'9" and 6'10"  is just a bizarre coincidence. I'm guessing they will not even play basketball so they can focus on their broadcasting and communication skills. Why are we all so suspicious and judgmental??
I agree. We have always had a foreign exchange program. No big deal ;D

Anyone who believes that is about as naive as you can be. You don't see a lot of 6'10" people who go to school for communication purposes. I'm not saying the coach himself is the one who is recruiting, b/c I don't know their coach, but someone could be doing it on his behalf. It sounds dirty to me. Again, when did HS basketball start becoming college programs by recruiting kids?
Yates high school basketball coach is none other than Greg Wise, Mr. AAU. He coaches an elite AAU team (of course none of those players on his AAU team play at Yates or that would be illegal ::)) but that doesn't keep him from............ ;) :D
:-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X

I know how those kids ended up at Yates. He didn't recruit them. But I do predict we may see more students from Africa coming to attend high schools here and just so happen to be 6'5" and up. ;)
Blue tell them how it works in Houston.Bellaire does the same thing. Tell them what man they need to see so he can them some tall ball player. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Frank  :-X handles the tall & older Bahamians. The Africans? I don't wanna know ;D
