That is when a qb looses faith in his line to protect him and starts heaving the ball just to get rid of it and avoid the sac or the bruising from all of the hits. Not standing up for Bevil but there have been many outstanding college qbs fail in the pros for that reason. David Carr and the Texans are just one example I can think of.
Perhaps one of the best examples too! AAW, JJ has never played a collegiate game, you don't know what he will do. Silsbee high school and the competition in Class 3A are not even close to Lamar football and the SLC. Just because he was successful in HS doesn't mean it will translate to success on the field in college.
Of course, there are no guarantees that he will succeed at the college level. But, I am willing to bet you any amount of money that he will be the starting QB for Lamar before the season is over and he will have success. I know what the coaches(LU) and scouts(at camps) have told me personally about JJ. I'll take their word over yours about him any day. ;) My point was that he will not play like Bevil like you stated. He will utilize his athletic skills to make plays, something that Bevil could not do. JJ's 4.38 forty is just the start of his advantage athletically over Bevil and the rest of the QB's. Bevil runs a 4.8. ;) You will soon find out.
As much as I hate coming to an agreement with you on ANY topic, I must agree with you on this one. The reports I keep hearing are high for this young man. Now, will I post this or DELETE IT giving you the satisfaction! Oh well here goes.
Silsbee will be hosting their big 3 day summer tourney in July. Last year, there were 24 teams in tourney.
Good, I know a local summer team looking for some good competition in the area. -

Nash you are something else but I love the flavor you bring. Trust me it ain't our Longhorns, but it will be a team effort. HF will be in the playoffs. As you know there is a coaching change and from what I am hearing, the boys will be definitely learning how to play basketball in a new system. The coach has agreed to start my freshman and sophmore son for next season, so I am really excited......... Okay I'm kidding. Seriously Nash, our respective schools should pay us a commission off the gates because we have truly hyped up the district for next year. ;D
You mean you havent received your commission yet? Things must be pretty slow over there. I used mine as a down payment on a new ATM just for you just outside the entrance to the Hawks gym.
Thanks bro! I couldn't take another season with a bank in a trailer and NO ATM!!!!
I will NEVER let that happen again in METROPOLITAN Sour Lake. I just need to make sure we haven't hired the BISD electrician to provide the ATM with power.
It ain't that many power grids in Sour Lake to overcharge ::) ::) ;D

Summer Basketball League in Area
Some crossover leagues and some just play in one league. Different hosts due to convenience. HJ, Silsbee, Lumberton, and Kountze will all play in HJ's and Kountze's league. They will play on Mon. and Thurs. at Kountze and on Tues. at HJ.
Oh I see. Makes sense now. So, what league will the 5-A teams possibly play? -
Question? So how does this summer team work in this area? If HJ, Ozen, Dayton, Kountze all have summer leagues, do they play on different nights and all these teams partcipate at each school's league? Or they play in two leagues? three leagues?

I'm sure little Johnny's parents are saying its the refs fault and their baby is never wrong instead of dealing with the problem.
When my kids were in school I told them they would not always agree with a teacher, coach...etc. But if they did it was myself and my wifes job to take it up with the Admin...etc if we thought there was any merit to it. They would always show respect to an adult.
Thats why its so important having a two -parent home ;)

AAU AAU=The Devil
Nope, no just AAU or summerball. It's in the public and private schools seasons as well. Youth sports from little league to big leagues.
I have been coaching/teaching for 26 years. I have NEVER seen a player hit a ref. NEVER.
This past season a kid attacked a ref during a high school game. First time I heard about a player attacking a ref. But seeing it live is so different.
Got to admit AAU is more tolerant of physical play, hard fouls, back talking players, coaches who scream and yell and come halfway on the court protesting calls, players fighting, and even parents getting out of control. Unfortunately like it or not this behavior is becoming all too common place in AAU play and is making AAU less desirable for many. My son played 2 years ago for a Houston team and this behavior was more common then not in most tourneys. Although I must say I never saw a player hit a ref, I did see players hitting each other, I saw a player hit a coach, I saw a coach shove a player to the floor, I saw a parent go onto the court at the ref during a game, and I saw parents from opposing teams get into a fight. Overall a pitiful display, however it is really no surprise that a player hit a ref....things have been getting out of hand for quite a while. AAU can be a wonderful experience for us and our kids, or it can be an embarrassing display of what we are allowing it to become.
There are some bad apples ;)
If I had to bet, this so called player does not attend one of the higher quality schools. I wont go into detail but I would bet if he plays basketball at his high school, there most likely to have numerous problems there as well! Discipline , class, character aren't on the high priority list. This is pitiful, official missed a charge call most likely and kid didn't like it! AAU coach most likely runnin out with him cursing the official.
Actually the official called a charge against the perp. It was really no big deal but the kid lost it in a split second. Unbelievable.

Sadly, it was a Houston Hoops tourney (Cy- Fair area) and usually they are trouble-free. The ref filed charges. They have to locate the kid now because nobody was giving up info on the kid. Sad
that's the worst part to me. people connected with the kids wanting him to avoid the consequences of his actions. :-\
Yep, they will get him. Just will take longer because now they gotta go thru court system to take further action.

In all my years of watching sports, I have never seen a player hit a ref until today. I mean cold-cocked & blindsided the ref in the face. The player's coach would not release any personal information on the teenager. :o

I'm assuming the Bmt. schools are in it but any other non-Bmt. teams in this summer league?
