Lets use HF as the example (again). If our kids apply the principles & rules of playing basketball (skill training, games, mental exercise, etc)  all summer for about 4-5 hours a day, my theory tells me we can whip HJ and Silsbee butt next season ;D
That's a good theory. But in reality, if your kids spent 4-5 hours a day in the gym all summer they'd be burnt out on basketball and HJ and Silsbee would once again whip's HF's butt next season. Just goes to show that there is a difference between theory and reality.  ;)
Ah but the true reality is that true ballers have no problem playing 4-5 hours a day, while the rest play video games. All we need are at least 4 true ballers to carry us in order to beat HJ ;)
Reminds me of the Oklahoma players from year before last. Came out too early. One finally made it somewhere overseas after being dissed by the NBA and the other was cut from a NBA team and I think is in the D-League now. Both came out too early and listening to the wrong people.

That is what is causing this.  Although he agreed to a plea deal and as long as he stays clean through 2013 he will have no felony on record this is what is keeping him from getting this job.
Thats a serious offense

He's been a sucessful coach at the Juco level, he was a good assistant here, he brought in most of the good players that Lamar has had over the past 5 years. I was worried that he wouldn't want the job because of his relationship with Roc, but since he's applied, I think it should be his job.
Support skelton all you want but saying that he brought most of the good players in over the last 5 years is not why we should hire him because there werent that many that good and the records prove it.
amen!

HJ may go to state next year. Those two studs they have coming back will be hard to handle. Silsbee will play small ball next year and may have a hard time against bigger teams.
Actually, HF will match up well with HJ this year. It will be different if HF gets the right coach to instill dicipline in the team and a will to win.
Who is it that will be matching up with Prudhomme?
Oh thats easy. We have two bigs to help out and quick guards to strip him when put it on the floor. OOPS! Too much info.
Sounds to me like out three point shooter is gonna have a lot of fun when all of those people stop Prudhomme.  Will all four of those (2 bigs and 2 quick guards) going to be new people?  I don't remember any of them doing much of that to him last season.
If HF hires who I think it will be, the new coach will see it ;)

But he has issues, his mouth. And will the community accept him back? Cross style fits the current team so some succes could come quickly. However he is a gamble, DI is very different from the lower Divisions. Skelton style could work in the SLC or WAC. However I think it would take him 2-3 years to build.
Okay, your opinions are being retired. Especially if you're giving Tom Abatemarco a green light. ::)
I know my older kid was coming home sore from weights and gym work. And trust me, the HF team needs more gym time than weight  time.

 12. Another ingredient that is left out is you have to have a little luck especially when the playoffs start.  Another ingredient is Serventhood, or the ability to give up oneself for the team concept. But I like all the ingredients you listed, those are without doubt needed to win. JMO
Ahhhhh!!!!!  I can't believe I missed that!  Good catch. But to your point, yes HJ has a solid youth program that is the envy of many other programs........ But HF also seems to have just as solid a foundation.  Something just seems to go amiss during the transition from 8th (and maybe 9th) grade to Varsity.  The wheels on the HF bus just seem to fall off, and most miserably at that.
The wheels fall off? I think the spare tire goes with it too. ;) Surely the blame can't be all on weightlifting because the football team has the same problem.....losing!
good question  ;D
::) Fellas, it's all about putting the ingredients together. Thats why I said , oh wait a minute. We can select 7th, 8th and 9th graders from HF and beat Memorial's 9th grade.  :o

 21. Nope! I never said they would win State at Hamshire in 2011. I said the road to State would start. The 2011 season would be the groundwork laid for the upcoming seasons for HF to reach playoff potential. Due to unforeseen circumstances this season, it could have happened by making playoffs this season. My predictions are still falling into place. The unforeseen may have been a blessing. Maybe our new coach will make his players see what they can be rather ........................ "A good coach will make his players see what they can be rather than what they are." -Ara Parseghian

On another note - Calipari has a lil bit of dirt surrounding him too.
Tubby was only guilty of starting his kid and playing daddyball which lead to its downward spiral ;D
