Just to be clear - am I understanding correctly the following about the future?  The Longhorns will be in the playoff in 2011-2012 but will bring home the state title in 2012-2013?  If that is correct, I may want to delay my plans to move to Florida.
Pushing those buttons LOL!
 2.
I wish the team/coach much success.  However, if Phil Jackson comes to HF but his players have to spend too much time lifting, it still won't work.
You raise some valid points. :'(
AAU Championships. He's won two straight in the 13u and 14u with Houston Select. He's also one of the top and most sought out trainers in the area. A former high school coach.
Regarding his success as an AAU coach- Do you think that has more to do with his coaching abilities or his recruiting abilities?  I dont follow AAU that much- Are you saying he has won two straight NATIONAL AAU championships?
He just coaches. He does not recruit. Yes, he has won 2-straight National AAU championships. His last year team was kinda like HJ, but going up against a team like Jack Yates in a national championship. The other team(Indiana Speice) has 2-3 projected major D-1 prospects

Congrats! Now its time to get back to planning for HF's district against HJ now.
District?  Isn't 2012 supposed to be that Special year for the Horns?
:P :D I'm thinking it may be the fall 2012/spring 2013 season which could be special for HF.  It's also going to depend on who they hire as their next head coach.
Doesnt matter who they hire if the priority is always "do whatever is best for football".  The "bigger, faster, stronger" priority is proven to be counter productive in many instances.
Lets hope that is their priority!

Excuse me Dove, but are you delaying your "HF Takes It All' prediction to the 2012-2013 season in lieu of 2011-2012?
Some unforeseen road blocks have taken place which started at the beginning of the 2010-2011 season. We will be in playoffs next season.
Kelvin Smith from Nederland and Shawn Prudhomme from HJ would be my top two!!!!   My opinion is what they did for their team during the regular season as well as in the playoffs.  I know that Prudhomme averaged 25 plus points per game during the playoffs in leading the Hawks to wins over Huffman, Stafford and Cleveland.
Just when I was beginning to like you ::)
Hmm? If the Who's Who List of coaches applying for the HF job is true, I wouldn't be so sure. Plus, HF's speed will nullify HJ's chances next year. Sorry HJ ;)
Most every team HJ plays/played has more speed.
Most haven't been playing since pre-middle school days. And don't forget a new coach is in the making. 18. As long as HF doesn't play "little Johnny" ball. Congrats again HJ. It will e interesting to see how you do in district next year ;D
 19. Thought he should have been resting for the next game and instead took a really hard foul... from that perspective, doesn't surprise me they got out coached tonight...
It was rather class-less of the Ball coach to leave his starters in for so long. Coach English pulled his starters a five minutes before the Ball coach did. It appeared that he just wanted to run up the score, and for that reason, I understand other people wanting them to lose. Just what was he trying to accomplish?
I'm glad Ball didn't wait 8 minutes to pull them or you really would have something to say ;)
:D Wasnt at the game but ok.. I didnt like the cockiness they showed at the Bulldog Classic
It's swagger ;)
 22. I wish Nederland win. It will really help in my conversations when I'm in Houston. I can brag about SETexas whipping up on Ball.
 23.

So, let me get this straight. The football coach "leads" the Longhorns to an 0-10 season (or were they just winless in district?), while the basketball coach's team has a respectable year - the first respectable year in a LONG time...... and its the basketball coach that gets let go?!?!?!?!?!
Many might call it a respectable year. I don't. This team was much better than I expected and I think others will agree. Pre district Wins over Deweyville, Buna, Evadale, Sabine Pass, Tarkington, Orangefield, etc. Expect the best and the results will show. Nederland basketball is a perfect example. English has a passion for the game. Look what his passion for the game has brought to Nederland. Results and school pride in basketball. Well said! Nederland as a community has good basketball talent, as does most other areas, the difference is the commitment by a coach to do whatever it takes to develop the talent and the program. Coach English truly does have a passion for the game, proven by his actions not just words. His passion is becoming Nederlands passion too. I am seeing people at these playoff games that never before showed much basketball interest. Everyone loves a winner, and it takes hard work to become one. Coach English works hard and his players and future players love to work hard for him. Our kids are truly fortunate to have him and so is our community. By the way I am posting this just prior to leaving in a caravan to Katy!!! GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!

oH okay, so you're posting while on your way to Katy, huh?  :P  ;D
 24. No one can really argue that the punishment was unfair, though. The university is owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has a very clear honor code, which requires students to: Be honest; live a chaste and virtuous life; obey the law and all campus policies; use clean language; respect others; abstain from alcoholic beverages, tobacco, tea, coffee and substance abuse; participate regularly in church services; observe the dress and grooming standards; and encourage others in their commitment to comply with the Honor Code. Now, after reading the sTUDENT Honor Code, how can you not want to send your kid to BYU?
 25. It will be interesting to see the list of applicants. My first question will be: "You gonna play my sons?"  ;D
