1. I'm sensing that Silsbee folkx aren't taking this game seriously. :(
 2. I haven't seen these two teams so I can't predict a score. But I think you know who I will be cheering for on game night ;)
 3.
Now Dove your going to have to explain that one to us>>. How would lossing the only business in town make the town grow?
You would not have a school. Bused to another high school and probably 3--A . Simple deduction.
 4.
One more thing, either a kid loves a sport or they don't. If a kid loves multiple sports then that kid will play multiple sports. No coach or parent can change that. I don't know if I would say kids have gotten lazy, I would say their interest has changed. Are kids lazy? You bet but my parents said I was lazy too. LOL!!!!!I don't believe anyone in Orangefield that has started a select team has told a kid to only play that sport. I also think the parents who started select teams in Orangefield did it because they wanted the program to flourish as a whole. I mean look at softball, sure parents do it because they have a kid playing but all in all they are doing it for the program plain and simple. JMO!!!! ;D ;D These parents are not getting paid that is the difference.
And most of the select sports run into other sports starting up during the oncoming season. Select sports is so competitive that you have many kids working with trainers during and after the season

I love your gym, the passion from the fans, and ? and? and? hmmm?
Man I love how HF won't even make the playoffs this year and IF they do all I can say is 1 and OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!  Ohh and I also love how embarrassing HF's athletic program is right now!!  ;D but you all know this is jmo.
If it wasn't for that paper plant in Evadale you guys would be in the same shape as HF. You would be in 3-A and losing :o

Good coaches know how to put their weaker players in situations to blend in with their stronger talent. Good coaches teach the fundamentals of the game and get their players to do it in the game.
Couldn't agree with you more....
Good coaches DEVELOP talent... (aren' t blessed with it always)... Good coaches teach fundamentals that enhance ones talents and minimize flaws.  Blue Dove... we finally agree on something.... but to say a coach at a winning school is blessed with talent and that is why the consistently win is flawed... Boutee, Sutherland, Williams, etc. could probably win 20 games where ever they coach at...because they will develop talent... ;)
I agree after watching what Sutherland works with over there ;D
All the pieces aren't there yet. We have a big coming in and a couple of other players who will also make statements in the future. I can tell you this.HF will have three of the quickest guards in district together in a year or two. Gonna be scary when they ipress.
Quickness is great but unless accompanied by several other skills, plus sufficient basketball intellect, and, last but not least, weight lifting on game days, nothing much will come of it.
Yep, you're correct. But its still in the making if all the pieces come to HF. We Have kids who Have transferred and will be transferring.
A good recruiting program is hard to beat
Stevie, you are so correct.

I don't know about now but their little dribblers program was strong. They always put solid teams on the floor. But when they get to High School they seem to underachieve. I don't understand. Not knocking Bridge City, have seen them play. Their inside game is much improved but they still lack the fundamentals needed to go to that next level. I thought that maybe club volleyball was hurting their basketball program but I was told not many players on the basketball team are playing club volleyball. That is why I cannot firgure them out. In the past IMO it was club Volleyball.
Same with boys. Strong in middle school.
I don't think it is coaches, I think kids lose interest. The girls have been losing numbers for the last 10 years that I know of.  Most of the classes at Orangefield have 1 maybe 2 seniors on the team. In 2007 we had 7 seniors, that is a rarity. Again I have a opinion but still don't understand. Back when I played we had some good athlete's that quit but there was enough to fill the void. Now it seems there is not enough.
Good point. Kids probably sign up for X-Box tournaments or stay home on FaceBook ;) That is good Dove. I am on facebook as we speak. LOL!!!!!!  Don't forget about the Wii.

I got addicted to my daughter's wii. I'm just now recovering the past two months. Haven't had a stick in my hand. ;)

 12. I'm hoping HF will change their schedule for the next 5 years or so with tougher teams. Hopefully Evadale was the last year for HF. I'll "man-up" after HF take Eva...ooops! I meant Evadale off the schedule ;D

 14. Maybe HF should slow the game down and make it in the 40's

 16.
H-J fans have to sit on the visitors side because we have so many fans that go to the games, which is not usually a problem for other teams. ;D ;D ;D
I'm starting to gag on HJ :D
 17. I'm going to have to find a 1-a team to handle Evadale. Seem to be getting a little cocky on here ;D
 18. Just curious but whenever HF tends to run more, they seem to play better IMHO. I mean, the tempo up and when the fast break wasn't there, they ran their sets and looked inside for the bigs, or hit the open shots, IMHO. Or did someone else see it differently?

I'm not saying he isn't doing this but I certainly hope he is preparing his Freshman guard for the future. She may be the key.
That guard is a Freshman?  She is very good and aggressive!
