Wow...w three district teams ahead of them... Cant say that is a great rating..
i'd say it's pretty generous considering they're 12 games into the season without playing a team above 3A, or a quality opponent, for that matter.
They've played Hamshire Fannett 4 times 8)

 5.
HF is turning the corner. They are an athletic team with size, they just don't have a takeover player. It's hard to beat a team 3 times and even harder to beat one for a fourth time. Vidor better be ready to play hard and sharp in order to stay perfect on the year. It should be a great game.
Overall, HF is not an athletic team. They are a good group of kids playing the game and trying to have fun. They do have size and you're right, they do not have a take over the game type of player. But thats okay. Each player has an attribute but it has to recognized and used to an advantage. For example, against Vidor, HF ran one fast break the whole game and scored 2 points. HF basically walked the ball up the floor and allowed the defense to set up. Vidor didn't put a lot of pressure up front. HF had to work too hard to score.  ;)
 6.
Tinytorpedo I agree about building confidence. That can be done by playing a few "gimme" games in the pre-season not the entire schedule though. I think today's kids are smart enough to realize they haven't played any competition so I'm not sure how much confidence those vidor boys may have right now. I say this with experience as I am a PNG fan. For the last several years we have played a pre-season schedule similar to the one vidor has set up this year. What I saw those years once we reached district play was a group of kids that were totally unprepared to play against the sharper players who had been forced to actually compete in the pre-season. BTW we may have swung a bit too far the other way this year especially with the late arrivals of our football players but only time will tell. I hope I am wrong about vidor but my brain just keeps reminding me that you gotta play "up"
Don't think PN-G is a good example. They could play a tough pre-season schedule and it would not make a difference ;)

Doesn't mean the small Michigan school is better overall, especially if they meet for a second time.
Bluedove3, I bet you wish all games were played on paper, but they arent. Silsbee didnt look one bit intimidated by G-Ball being #1 on the state. They new they had talent as well. I can tell you one thing, G-ball started playing hard after that 1st quarter when Silsbee was getting fired up on them.
Never said Silsbee was scared!  Silsbee had nothing to lose. G-bALL felt the had the game BEFORE it started, plain and simple logic.  True champs show what they are made of in the final minutes. They won!

"If we played em ten times they would probably win nine. But NOT TONIGHT!" Set the goal and go after it, that's all I'm saying.
Good wisdom
That question will be answered on the court friday night  ;) Why does a person who follows a 3A school so concered about it? There ya go Stevie. Coach Richards and his team can make that third place finish this year. I'm sure he's got his guys focusing on that goal. It's realistic enough for them toget playoffs this season and go one deep. But its a start.
