The Freshman PG for HF can go. I don't know his name or anything, I've just put pieces together on here to figure out it's Bluedove's son (I think). Only reason I went to watch HF play. I have to say sir...if that is your son...he's good and you and previous coaches have done a good job teaching him the game. I saw tons of height on that team when I watched them play. Guard play is going to make or break that team.
so which team did lil dove play on last night?
We had a guard from the JV play some minutes for the varsity last night. Excellent move. He will be part of the future. Get him dirty now.

Only seen him play twice over at the Gamble Classic at PA Memorial, but you can tell this kid can play
And you know whats weird? As good as he is, he didn't get a lot of playing time with the Houston Hoops this past summer. Shows how competitive it is out there.
Blue That Dist.24 4A Will be the best dist.in 4A I Thing Nobody Will Win All There Dist.Games. ;D ;D ;D ;D
CATMAN, I do agree with you 100%. Haven't seen Ball but I have seen a couple of their players balling. It's going to be tough.

What kind of AAU coach is gonna keep a kid that is #76 on 2011 ESPN recruiting class on the bench?
A coach that has three other guards in the top 10 ;D ;D
 4. I've learned and was taught a loss is a loss just like a win, no matter who steps out on the floor or not. Using missing or injured players is a readily excuse. ;)

 6. Silsbee have some good players. And more than just one. That says a lot.

 8.
It is early on.  Coach will certainly give the upperclassmen their chances to lead the show before pulling up talent from below.
When you see me at the game, why don't you and I discuss what you see versus what I see. Maybe I need to wear your glasses. Because I don't see it.
 9.
Perhaps their Freshman PG should be up to either start or come off the bench. He seems very quick and knows how to play the position.
See yall think yall know da Dove. You don't! The coach did something smart in the Tarkington game. He brought up another guard from the JV. It was a good move. Why is it so hard for some of you to understand what is missing on this team or what makes a team go? The point guard (pg) with experience knows how to break down a defense and create shots for his teammates. This creates other avenues to score. I'd use that kid Malveaux till his his arms wear out from being fouled and shooting foul shots. Right now, HF doesn't have a pg to create from the offense. What you have is a bunch of role players. A good pg will make role players look good. If Coach Richards is as smart as I think he is, I predict you will begin to see some changes to prepare for next season. yeah, yeah! I know the season just started.

 13.
looks like that universal off season is finally paying off.......
Well, Tarkington isn't really that good. Good players shine whether good or bad teams.
I bet they still need alot more tweeks to compete in 21 3a
A whole lot more. HF is going to have to bring in players from their other teams to play better. They are hurting @ point guard and need to role play or bench many of their vet players.

 20.
Not a guru but do have a couple of opinions, first with no disrespect, if a kid gets a letter at this age I used to call them an everybody letter, just add a kids name and bulk mail.  Even going into senior years kids will continue to get them.  As I am sure you are aware it is when the money starts coming for the scholarship is when the letters matter.  Those letters for Div 1 are few and far between.  Granted there are alot of schools out there but most kids think if a Lamar comes calling its a joke and they are way to good for that.  Reality can be a strange thing.  Was watching KY play tonight and and their 9th man was the former Mr Basketball in Kentucky.  Now barely plays.  The next level is something that most kids do not have the dedication for because of a couple reasons. First, if they are really good then they are not really used to getting coached aka yelled at, cursed at, having to work harder than they ever have.  In college sports they own you, plain and simple. There are not alot of one and done's out going to college.  Second, as long as football coaches are the AD basketball will always be 2nd or 3rd or whatever.  The reason this does not and will not happen at an HJ is because of the success of the program.  Could you imagine the fb coach going to Sutherland and saying, not gonna have your kids to day unil they get that work out done.  Believe me, it happens mnost other places.  Get rid of the FB AD and make it a separate position.  On the other hand, good luck with the year.
Excellent points you make. All parents should be very aware of the pitfalls ahead that you bring up. The college letter was an example to teach what can happen IF you continue to put in the work.
 21. HF 9TH graders play @ 1pm
 22.
Those lights are huge.  Just keep working , getting better everyday.  The lights will find you when its your time to shine.
The Houston Hoops make those lights shine awful bright. You'll see it this year at The ESPN Center when your team gets there this summer.
 23.
With DC's talents, I'dlike to see him play more of a guard type roll. Since he is one of the tallest if not tallest ont he team, he will have to play down low. At 6'3 he should be able to handle the ball just fine.
At 6'3, he's a guard at the next level. Ihope he has his dribbling skills down for that position.
 24.
the truth of the matter is this some people will never understand the aau circuit. some would fault you and your kids for getting them better. bottom line is if the kid can play under the big lights find some school who would let him.P.A.M has a freshman starting on varsity and its a football school and he was a stud on the football field just glad the coaches are willing to let him find his way.
The lights are big, aren't they. But you do speak the truth. They don't want to understand...
