We will probably also let a company from Houston build even though there are plenty of capable builders here and not to mention it would create jobs in beaumont and give back to the taxpayer. Wouldn't want to do that would you BISD!! Sad but that is what Butch does.
Did you complain when Bud Leonard Stadium used Houston contractors?
I think they call it the YMBL, held at the Montagne. 16 teams, pretty good tourney.
Pasadena TOUR. Has 48 teams now that a TOUR. ;D ;D ;D ;D
CATMAN knows about the big tourneys. Teams from all over Texas, boys and girls competing. The BISD complex would compliment such a venue. Also you would have the facilities to bring in regional playoff action.YMBL could bring in additional teams to make this tournament a major deal and bring in dollars to the area. CATMAN love dollars. ;)

Hamshire Fannett-Rebuilding Year?

I think it's just cycles where you get in several very athletic kids who turn your program around. -
Hamshire Fannett-Rebuilding Year?
BLUEDOVE3 replied to BLUEDOVE3's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Championships are made during the summer. I'm sure the HF coaches are preparing for the future right now. It's all about playing for pride from this point. -
HF fans have been real quiet this season. Opinions have been far and apart this season. I know this is another rebuilding period, but what are the thoughts out there?
HF has no talent in basketball. They are better off not even putting a team together.
Well I think it's good to put a team together because it would get boring playing each other in P.E. everyday. Plus it helps the other teams in the district to get in a "soft" game so their non-starters can get a run. ;)

Actually I like Ozen. I like to talk about them like I do H-rejects....errr...HJ

It don't matter if you can't win with talent.

I doubt if Yates want to play Ozen. Ozen just doesn't have the product to compete on that level.
If Yates wanted the best challenge in SETX and had to pick between - Silsbee & Ozen They would be better off playing Silsbee
Tiger05 I agree Silsbee has tons of talent, but more than Ozen??? I think not!!!
Hello!!!! This is 2011 not 2003 ::) ::) ::) Ozen does not have Perkins anymore Yes Silsbee has more talent than Ozen.... Silsbee had more talent last year in which Silsbee beat Ozen 60-40 Silsbee also has more talent this year also If you disagree list the Ozen roster and give me an explanation of who would line up against who and why they have more talent….. Here I will help you out and give you the probable Silsbee line up: DC Stallworth Xavier Harris Prentice Lane Kelton Gaines Tommie or Ronald Barrett
Tiger05, some people have trouble hearing the truth. But you are correct about Ozen.

I want to see if it's luck or what that keeps you guys in the run for playoffs.
Guess it depends on your view of mental toughness. Is mental toughness being able to beat up everyone else, or the ability to stop yourself from beating everyone up, even when you know you can? What do you think about siblings brought up in a rough neighborhood, the same parenting, or lack there of, one goes on to be an inspiration to everyone he/she touches, and the other ends-up in prison? Same environmental controls with a different outcome! Which one is considered mentally tough? What about the great parents who raise three great kids, but have one that is a total loser? Same environmental controls with a different outcome! Now I completely agree that it can be taught, but….. you have to have something to start with! There will be those who will succeed no matter what, and … there will be those who will not succeed no matter what. That’s the genetic luck of the draw.
Huh? I never said anything about beating up anybody. I said taking care of yourself will make you mentally tough. I too have always pondered how kids from the same family/parents will be or could be so different in positive versus negative paths.

How bout the Coaches take some blame
You are so right my friend. I think Woodard is a good coach from what I hear from players, they really respect what he has to say and he seems to know a lot and is a great leader. However, I'm not so sure about his hires. I think Coach Hinshaw is a great coach, his resume proves it. However what he did as a D-Coordinator then was with way different talent. Coach Whitten... well as much I hate to say this, but the katfans have seem to be right so far on this guy. The jury is still out on these 2 guys though because as I said, it is still our first year. I will hold back my criticism until year 2.
mffl, you're a man(?) of conviction. Hard to sway you to the darkside. :D -

HJ seemed to move the ball with somewhat relative ease, but almost every drive stalled with the 42,000 penalties - HOLDING, HOLDING, HOLDING!!!!!!! I'm interested to know how many penalty yards the Hawks incurred in this game. For AAW & all Silsbee basketball fans, one of HJ's starting bigs went out early with a shoulder injury. He is scheduled for an MRI on the shoulder Monday. I'm sure coach Sutherland is awaiting the results with great eagerness.
Just another reason why basketball players should not play football in high school. :o
Just another reason why HJ continues to beat HF in football as well as basketball because they don't feel as you do!!
I have nothing to do with HF and HJ outcomes. Many of HF boys play at least two sports as well as HJ, I'm sure.

Basketball is his second sport.
Thats good to hear that football is his #1 sport. I know a kid in Humble area who has signed with Texas A&M football. Loves basketball and eventually hurt his knee this past summer in basketball. I'm hoping it doesn't hurt his football career. But those are the chances you take.
