Unfortunately for you what goes down does not have to come up!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!
Hey, it will be nice to have a district where there are at least 3 or 4 very competitive teams. Makes your district APPEAR stronger, especially since most of the teams in this district play in weak tournaments & a soft district.
21-3A's third place team WOS made it to the regional quarterfinals before ending their season to the eventual regional champs Silsbee. BTW, the runner up, HJ, made it to the regional finals losing to Silsbee. With 21-3A sending a team to the state tourney for 5 straight years I believe gives the appearance of a tough district. Only one team has been the cellar dwellar every year in this district.
*SMITE!*  :D
Yeah but we still have all the bragging rights right now: lead the series 7-6, reigning district champs, reigning regional champs and won 2 out of 3 this year. :)
Yep, enjoy it while you can. And 10 years from now you can tell your grandkids how great the team was "back then."

Only if they: a) move to another region. or b) move to another class. Oh wait.  There's also c) If HJ moves to another region or d) If HJ moves to another class. :D
Yeah maybe HJ should go back to 4A I bet it would be a lot more quiet in here then.... :D :D
Silsbee is a lot closer to a 4A than we are I think yall have about 300 more students than we do.
They'll never win State if they go up to 4-A. bEST TO STAY IN 3-a and smack around HJ some more :P

 8. Texas players are lucky that they can play in organized leagues after the season. There wasa time UIL had a firm grip in what you did in post season play. No camps, no this, no that, etc, etc, bah-hh!
 9.
As a pro, Bosh is an Allstar PF and  Perk is one of the better Centers in the league.  Perk doesn't get the shots bosh gets and his role is completely different.  But back to the State game which is what the argument is about.  Below is a quote used by the official site for Texas Basketball State championships! "The final matched two future NBA stars, 6’10” Sr Chris Bosh of Lincoln and 6’11” Kendrick Perkins of Ozen, in one of the greatest individual match-ups in the history of the state tournament.  However, Lincoln routed Ozen by 20 points utilizing a press and half-court trap that forced 27 Ozen turnovers which the Tigers turned into 39 points.  Statistically, Bosh and Perkins fought to a draw." Stat Line: Bosh with 21 points, 11 rebounds, 7 blocks, 2 steals and 2 assists Perkins with 20 points, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks and 1 assist Perk had that kind of Stat line and his guards could not get the ball across half court.  27 Turnovers!  It is amazing to pull that Stat line when you can't even touch the ball.  Over half of Bosh's points came off fast breaks when the ball was turned over!!!
And since DV is not here, I can say this: those Ozen guards sucked ...played scared ;D

Congrats to all these players and particularly to D.C. Stallworth, an MVP that's well deserved.
Anything to take away some thunder from the HF program...sheez!

Drexler may not have had as good a high school career as some of these others, but his college and pro years trump most of these players.
Well, you need to title it All-NBA

 16.
These kids know one way to play... If a team had good enough guards to put this team in the half court, Yates would lose.  Keeping them in the press allows them to mask that deficiency.  I am sure they could blow a twenty point lead as fast as they built one if they stop pressing.  I have said it over and over again that this is not the most talented team.  What I respect is Coach Wise putting together a scheme that allows this team with little true skill to be so dominant. When I was coaching summer league back in 2001 I played the Silsbee/Kountze/Jasper team.  They did it to me and I did nort feel that they were wrong...  They dominated with a three-quarter court press.  They backed off late in the 4th when they were up by 40. The next time I played them we were more competitive but in the end we still lost by 15.  Half of the issue was that the kids kind of feared that team.  They were never sure of themselves, eventhough the scheme I created had worked, we were down 5 to start the 4th.  But the stigma was too much.  I feel that Yates has done the same thing to its opponents.  Kids and Coaches come in with a certain kinf of fear and make more mistakes than they normally would.  coaches over analyze and the kids are super nervous.  To me its good coaching.
They still don't get t

They have to score 100, which makes the game a blowout against any other team, and this is in the playoffs. They're the #1 team in the nation and we should all be proud a Texas team holds that honor. All this ghetto talk and these racist remarks against SLC, why don't you guys go crawl back under that rock from whence you came. They didn't pass which is somewhat comparable to Yates stopping the press.
Ran the ball? For what? Why didn't the team just fall on the ball at the end of each play and PUNT?  :o :o

Don't give him the pleasure of indulging him and simply move along...nothing new here as the topic of this thread has been beaten like a dead horse. Let them win their championship any way they see fit and turn the page and soon they will be an after thought! I do know this...on the way to our State Championship in '06 we played Yates in Rice stadium. The score was something like 31-0 at halftime us ALL over them easy...the final score ended up being 46-0 on primarily running plays in the second half. Could we have lit them up for 70? Yup, quite easily but we showed a little class and respect for our opponent and didn't choose to humiliate their once proud football program...nuff said!
First of all the bold is very annoying and hard to read...if you'll had beat them by 80 itd have been No different than beating them by 46
I was thinking the same thing. Why didn't the team just stop at 20-0? "oh, we decided to score 46 points and stop scoring. sheez!
I guess 46 is the magic number lol
No, I think it's 50. Anything under 50 points is not embarassing the team :D
