And nobody is saying a thing.  I don't expect miracles from the team but they must have run into a buzz saw in those woods up there.
What a smart move, the old stack'em up with freshmen and sophmores and lets ride for another 4-5 years. I must admit it s a good strategy. Bravo!

 6.
I haven't seen a game  yet where Roc has shown to be a good head coach. Making decisions or changes that impact a game.  I have seen several where he didn't make changes or adjust and lost!!       As far as a recruiter.  When you are recruiting form Memphis, Texas, Texas Tech, LSU etc. it's like picking a team on the school lot.  You don,t have to recruit much, just pick who you will allow to come to your team after the biggies are gone.
I'm not sure if I understand what you are saying here but: it does matter after all the big boys have their players on scholarships. Because now you have to compete for the best players who would make good lower level D-1 players. And some of these players end up at other schools in the SLC, who come back to beat your butt in conference play.
I saw that Cleveland Heritage team put on a pregame dunking exhibition before the played Kountze in a warm-up game.  Once the ball was tossed up in the air it was all Kountze!
I'm not saying Cleveland Heritage does this, but some private schools have 5th year players playing high school games. But maybe Heritage has several teams that play.
 9.
I personally think it is a terrible idea. What I have seen first hand over the years is that a select player is an absolute distraction to a high school baseball team. What happens in most, but not all cases is that the rest of the team sees the select player a prima-donna and most of the time the player thinks of himself as such. He is usually the coach favorite and gets special treatment from the coach. The rest of the team resents that fact and he becomes an out-cast while it ruins the team chemistry from there on. The rest of the team has worked just as hard and put in just as much time practicing but they dont get the credit that select players get for doing the same thing. Select ball has ruined all levels of baseball and most parents are also to blame for getting caught up in it. But to be honest- this is the U.S.A. and money talks!
You sound like one of those parents whose son has been surpassed by one of those select baseball players, who has put in the time, effort, and money to get better.
 10. From what I am gathering from the viewership here, there seems to be some problems with players and their injuries.  that may be an area that needs to looked at now and in the future.
 11.
I sure hope that the season ends up like 2 years ago... We played well in the beginning of the games and blew it at the end.... We got better and won a share of the conference championship... Hopefully we start getting better... shooting 25% is not gonna cut it.    Here are some things that really piss me off about this team... 1) Custer is still a wimp with the ball. Everytime he gets the ball he loses it... And  he still takes the ball to the hoop like a 12 year old girl... GROW A PAIR BUDDY 2) Roc needs to cut it out on the technical fouls... getting a bit ridiculous... (You are not Bobby Knight or Tark the Shark! thats for you UNLV) 3) Nabors poor shot selection. 4) ALL THE INJURIES for the PAST 2 Years... Roc needs to make a change we are losing people like flies....
Anyone know if the team employs a trainer for strength conditioning? If not, maybe they should put a position in the budget.
The truth is setting you free. ;)
I think most of us were expecting a rough start to the season, especially since the team's most experienced players were either freshmen last year (Harper, Miles), haven't played in over a year due to injuries (Nwevo, Nabors), or playing at all (Hall). The JUCO guards have been disappointing.  They should make an impact right away or don't sign them and get freshmen instead.  The silver lining in all this is that the SLC is worse than normal this year so there's a good chance they'll win a lot of conference  games.
I hope they win SLC, if not it's going to be a long season and the beginning of a longer post season analysis.
 13. We'll be looking forward to the future when HF rides the longhown into HJ country and smear up the new gym floor with streaking shades of blue and gold and the smell of burning rubber from their tennis shoes ;D
 14.
I believe Roc is a good recruiter but getting a great recruit to come to a lower tier D1 program is very difficult.  I think that Roc is still a very inexperienced head coach and it shows.  The question for LU fans is are we willing to wait to see how he grows as a coach?  Did not have a chance to listen to last nights game but I think it should be a rare occassion that a coach gets a "T".
Look, here is a preview of the ending season speech from the staff: " Look at our graduation rate among our players...."

They are extrememly deep so even when they clear the bench they are better than some starting fives.
I think that's the problem. No one should be pressing with that type of lead. It is possible to alter that style of play. You just have to be willing to do it.
In business, do we tell our sales staff to stop or slow down selling products because we are out- selling  our competitors and we don't want to make them look bad?????  I don't think so!! You can't expect your 2nd tier players are as talented to lay down and play down.
 18.
Sorry, beat the crap out of everyone you play, so when you walk in the next gym you play in your already up twenty. It's more mental than anything. :o O' yeah they beat us by 30 last year.
Yep, more mental for both sides. Depending on your sport, you always want a few extra points BEFORE  the event starts. I don't believe in slacking off on an opponent. mental toughness.

Yates intentionally ran the score up because of some comments made by the Sam Houston coach prior to this game. The Yates coach was asked how many points he was going to win this game and he siad, "As many as I can".
I'm not shocked that Greg Wise would say that. To me he's the Coach Allen (Carter's basketball coach up here in Dallas) of HISD.
Not sure what kind of basketball some of you guys were raised on, but he took his starters out and don't think theyare going to lay down because of the score. It's not fair to the bench players because they are trying to get better  for the future too.
Then play better teams if you want to get better, I don't know how beating someone by almost 100 is helping, seems like they'd get better practice from their JV.
Even Duke plays smaller schools for practice and work on their sets. And yes, they do play very good teams. You can't  expect your bench to play down  when you're always expect them to do their best.
