Not sure if anyone is comparing but me personally, all I am saying is that Ozen provided a well-rounded academic program for my kids.

There is nothing wrong with BISD academics. My kids had plenty of homework. Sometimes I was wishing the work would slow down a little Study hall before classes and after classes. Saturday labs were also offered. It was a very good learning experience for those who took advantage.

It does not make a difference if you play for your father. It's all about residency. A former Ozen player went to play for his father in Houston and wasn't allowed to play varsity his JUNIOR year.

And maybe she saved up the money from her earnings or maybe she took out a loan, or maybe a relative loaned her the money, oor maybe she is from a well-to-do-family, or maybe ...

I just realized Nederland will have two former players playing D1 basketball. And you have one who is going to a top basketball program. Nederland is moving up.

Thats great! Playing in Hutchinson, KS for 2 years is no small accomplishment.

I never met Donohoe and I heard the same thing. I also know another D1 college coach during that time wanted him and he told me the same story.

Yep, I guess I didn't make myself clear enough. Menzies wanted Ballou BEFORE he took the job at UNLV, while he was still the coach at New Mexico State. Great opportunity for this young man. Hard work & dedication does pay off.

Jaylen Fisher decommitted but Ballou was already going to UNLV after Menzies was hired as coach. Menzies was interested in Ballou already.

UNLV going thru some changes right now. Menzies (sp?) from New Mexico State just took over after the previous coach held the position for about a week before he bolted to Texas Tech. Many of their players from this season have left from UNLV and transferred. It could turn out to be a good opportunity for Jaylan. I think his status right now is a "preferred walk-on."

You mean before the NCAA got involved and started having those "open dates" for them to be able to attend the summer events to watch the players.
