The problem is that would hold true going to a black school. I think a lot has to do with understanding. I think the majority of people confuse "not understanding" or "unaware" with racism. I think it's completely different. I have worked with a black women for about 12 years. When we first met, she thought I was racist because of things I said. One I recall was when she called me a racist, my initial reply was I was not because I had a close friend who was black. Her response was that very statement was racist. She explained why and it made sense. No one had every told me that. I still disagreed with her, but at least understood where she was coming from. Hmm? So hippy, you've been to a Black school and you know how it is?

I think just as some of us bring up racial issues there is an opposing side who are in denial about how race affects our society. Just the fact that you have students in this area who have never had contact with kids from other races until they enter college still is hard for me to imagine. Bridge City, Lumberton, Vidor, etc. Race is real! Race denial is real too! I lived in Port Arthur for 27 years. It was a 50 50 mix of white and minorities. When I was in High School it was not a black white issue, it was a blacks/whites being racial against Asians and Vietnamese. You are the opposite extreme of white racism. Based on all your post, you use emotion to form a conclusion instead of facts.....OR you use one fact (a man is dead) without looking at any other facts. S what does your statement have to do with my post above? Its a very true statement I say above.

History and everyday events tells us that most individuals are selected based on their popularity or who they know. Or better known as the good ole boy system. I think the timing was just right for a person like Obama to come in and win (obviously). What I didn't like was the hatred that came out towards the man. And I just think that he had a very effective, successful marketing strategy. Much better than McCAIN & Palin...obviously -
What about D-3 or NAIA? Certainly a 5'8" would be welcome with game.

I think it would serve your purpose better is to sign up your players for the showcases that are happening in Texas. College coaches are attending these events. At 5'8" the kid better have a lot of heart, skill and luck.

Her experience is a Governor for 2 years and a Mayor for 10 years. Name me some of those bright, articulate, accomplished GOP women who have been doing big things in government and in the business world for years. You have NOTHING to support that argument. : : Partial List of Republican Women More Qualified to be President Than Sarah Palin posted by Gatemouth Fri, 08/29/2008 - 11:04pm Senators: Lisa Murkowski, Alaska(?!?); Olympia Snowe, Maine; Susan Collins, Maine; Elizabeth Dole North Carolina; Kay Bailey Hutchison, Texas Governors: Oline Walker, Utah; Linda Lingle, Hawaii, M. Jodi Rell, Connecticut Members of the House: Ileana Ros-Lehtinen Florida; Deborah Pryce, Ohio; Barbara Cubin, Wyoming; Sue Myrick North Carolina; Jo Ann Emerson, Missouri; Kay Granger, Texas; Mary Bono, California; Heather Wilson , New Mexico; Judith Borg Biggert , Illinois; Shelley Moore Capito, West Virginia; Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee; Ginny Brown-Waite, Florida; Candice Miller, Michigan; Marilyn Musgrave, Colorado; Thelma Drake, Virginia; Virginia Foxx, North Carolina; Cathy McMorris Rodgers, West Virginia; Jean Schmidt, Ohio Cabinet: Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State; Elaine Chao, Secretary of Labor; Margaret Spellings, Secretary of Education; Mary Peters, Secretary of Transportation; Susan Schwab, US Special Trade Representative Judging by the way they've been voting recently, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins probably wouldn't have taken it and might not have been that committed if they had taken it. Kay Bailey Hutchison, although a very good candidate, is getting up in age herself, and would have added a card to the Obama Campaign's "youth and vigor" strategy. Besides, she's determined to run for governor. I doubt she would have accepted the invitation, anyways. Condoleezza Rice would have been the best pick, in my opinion, but the McCain Campaign was trying to set itself apart from the Bush administration, and she was in President Bush's cabinet, which could invalidate all of the women pointed out that were involved with the Bush administration. Then again, Condoleezza Rice would have made a great Presidential candidate, in my opinion. Kay Granger would have been a good pick, but I think that McCain was also trying to set himself apart from Congress in addition to the Bush administration. All of these points narrows it down to the four GOP female governors (your three plus Sarah Palin). Of these four, Sarah Palin was the youngest, and McCain was trying to add a "youth and vigor" edge to his campaign to counter the one the Obama Campaign had. Seems to me like Sarah Palin was the best choice, given the circumstances. Yep, she brought all the Goobers out of the beer joints -

And I bet you think Palin could run the country, don't you? Her resume looks a lot better than Obamas Really? Now what is her educational background? She is a college grad. However, her executive experience is a Governor for 2 years and a Mayor for 10 years. He has no executive experience. Plus the fact that she has a fairly nice...uuuhhhh... ;D she is hot! As much as I thought Gomer Pyle was dumb, his cousin Goober was dumber.......too many of you think with your third leg too much. You don't agree that she does have a nice smile Dove?? And Ouch!! that remark hurt!! :'( She's nice to look at but I equate it to once I look past the looks, how much money can she bring home to help pay for the bills : -
A chance to keep stirring the pot. Keep it stirring, it makes for an interesting evening. And most of you are in denial about the truth. Question, are udercover cops allowed to take drugs on the job? Denial is an easy accusation as anyone can say it to anyone else and have the same meaning.... which means that they have no other argument of facts. I have never heard where they can take dope while on duty but they can possess it, sell it or buy it. If you have evidence of an officer taking drugs, I suggest that you turn it in to internal affairs, the DA or another agency. Gee, you answered my question didn't you! It's illegal to use the merchandise...think about it

he also went to state prison for dealing crack.... a felony... Would you defend a Klansman like you're defending TurdX? They are one and the same. See, this is one of the major differences in you and me. I'm willing to accept a *change* in a man's life such as George Wallace the obvious racist into George the human being. Whereas, you can accept X's old life as a drug dealer. Once you are able to move on from this old news, then maybe we can start discussing his politics more in detail. We might find that you and I aren't that far apart in agreement. But I won't hold my breath No, once again you are totally wrong. I am totally willilng to accept a change in a person's life. However, TurdX hasn't changed. Just two days ago he vowed to tear Lumberton to the ground. Do you condone that? You didn't answer my question either. Would you today defend the head of the KKK? TurdX is a different side of the same coin as the KKK. QX is not going to tear or burn down down Lumberton. Maybe in a figurtive way such as his burning words of hate towards the town. Would I defend the head of the KKK? Sir, in my lifetime I have ate and conversed with more racist than you ever will in your lifetime. How many have you dined with? I have just replied to one Wow! Edgy today hippy? -
And the argument that all this leads to "no quality players" also doesn't fly. For the first two years the players were mostly club-level players. But by the third season, 90 percent of the roster were 1st team all-district players, and the talent level has risen every year. All of those 1st team all-district players didn't make the grade in college basketball. Look at last year's team. They all were stars in high school, but Jerre Cole intended to re-sign only THREE of them for the 2009-10 season. We'll find out how things go in next year's recruiting class beginning Tuesday afternoon. Oh well, this will eliminate the HJ class from going to the next level.

Sounds like a program for Hardin-Jefferson players after their high school career is finished. They can go home to eat, sleep , and ask for money from their parents. Quality is a whole *nother* subject

Anyone confirmed this story? Stop the presses... (even though we haven't received the press release yet). Time Magazine is reporting - burying rather - the news that Joe the Plumber, also known as Samuel Wurzelbacher, is quitting the GOP. That's big news considering Joe became the new GOP mascot during the McCain campaign and has since advised the party during conferences and in Capitol Hill briefings.
