  1. You, working in 3-a? How can this be? How many times have we heard you malign 3-a schools and players? Hmmmm. Yeah I almost turned the job down when they told me that!.... : :...When we go into the UIL, after the next realignment, thats where we have to go initially...3A....Yeah it sucks doesn't it? :....BUT a 3A in Houston is definitely a GOOD THING... ...Ask Dallas Madison. ....I can deal with it...I coached in 3A before, Mr. Nash, when I was head coach at Wilmer Hutchins in Dallas (now defunct)...Lost to Van (2005 3A champion) in the 2005 regional finals with NO SENIORS, the last year the school was open...The kids had to transfer to Dallas Roosevelt (2006 3A champion) and the rest is history... :'( Are you sure about this, Dicky? See this is what I am talking about. You make false comments on here all the time and then you get all mad when someone calls you on it. You want to cry "technicality" or something. : It just amazes me that you continue to do it when you know how easy it is for someone to find the truth out. Doesn't look like it's to anyone's advantage to be conected with Boutee regime right now
  2. 36-0? Oh sorry, I thought that was the year Chris Bosh kicked dat butt
  3. Dickie, so now you're back in the middle of battling to gain the influence from your players versus his AAU coach. I see it now, one of your well known players has to make a decision and his AAU coach has all the pull, or does he? I never believed in allowing AAU coaches to have ANY influence or pull...The way that the NCAA has it set up now, D-I coaches are no longer allowed to attend AAU events until July...They CAN however visit a kid in a non-organized workout or pick up game at his or her respective HIGH SCHOOL...So, with that said, who do YOU think has the influence once again? THE HIGH SCHOOL COACH and THE PARENTS! Thats where it SHOULD be!! Which bring up another question now. I had some parents bring to my attention (yesterday)that Ozen players don't get basketballl scholarships, even though it's a very successful program. If this is true, how much is the coach's responsibility to get this kid a scholarship? In my opinion this is a credit to the coach... The coach is taking good players and going to State with them... The exposure was there, from National games to national rankings. To me the scout recognized the players were not as good as this arrea thought they were. The coaching got Ozen there. Those same kids have been at Central and Westbrook for years and the coaching could not get them over the hump to becoming GREAT TEAMS... In fact Central and Brook have had arguably better talent (outside of Perkins) in the 90's than any of the Ozen State teams and could not even get to regionals. Am I lying Dickie? HUH? I can't hear you.... :.....What!! (like Lil John would say)... I DO know that the talent has ALWAYS been there, long before Ozen came on the scene...In my opinion, WESTBROOK had the majority of it, and were probably INITIALLY affected MORE by the opening of Ozen than Central was. We had ZERO division I signees when we won state in 2001...NONE....We had a FOOTBALL signee in Brandon Rideaux (Kansas), but no basketball signees, and we had 7 seniors on that team. (We had one to walk on at SHSU, one go juco, and another go NAIA) The next year we graduated 7 more and had 3 Division-I signees... It varies from year to year, dependant upon who sees them and that particular school's needs. Hello, that team was lucky. Had those slow guards NAIA material

  7. Typical. I'll say one thing abou this story. I have a feeling this board is going to get a little testy before it's over Typical? Tell me why you would consider this racial profiling? Plus, you better be nice to me. My boy Quanell X will be in a town near you 8) A little history about "your boy" from Wikipedia® Quanell was a drug dealer in the Sunnyside community located in southern Houston, Texas. In May 1989 he spent a brief time in jail and received 10 years probation for possessing and dealing crack cocaine. It was during this time that Quanell claims to have had a life changing conversion and decided he would devote his life to the betterment of African-Americans in Houston. In 1995, Quanell was quoted in the New York Daily News as saying, "I say to Jewish America: Get ready … knuckle up, put your boots on, because we're ready and the war is going down. … The real deal is this: Black youth do not want a relationship with the Jewish community or the mainstream white community or the foot shuffling, head-bowing, knee bobbing black community. … All you Jews can go straight to heck."[4] Quanell was forced out of the Nation of Islam for publicly inciting violence with his televised, and highly publicized, exhortation to Houston-area blacks: "if you feel that you just got to mug somebody because of your hurt and your pain, go to River Oaks and mug you some good white folks. If you’re angry that our brother is put to death, don’t burn down your own community, give these white folks heck from the womb to the tomb. Dove, I hope this is not your mentor! Do I sense tension brewing already? I have a prediction that by the time I get back from my KKK meeting, the thread will be locked! ;D ;D THAT WAS A JOKE FOR BLUEDOVE! I despise the KKK as much as the black panthers! I grew up one house down from Khallid Abdul Muhammad. Don't mess with me hippy!

Typical because YOU would feel it's not profiling. Team Bush were masters at profiling. I just had to input a little *Bush*

  14. uh thats pushin it sabine pass beat hf twice this year so i think hf should just play small schools like chester and colmesniel burkville and they own jv lol... > :'( > are u cryin or wat Both!
  15. So how many of us with our highly touted college diplomas are knocking down a couple of $100,00 a year? College sports is on of the biggest rip offs off all time. How much money is generated off these kids back? And they don't get enough money to buy a pair of tennis shoes. Thats why there will never be a playoff system in football, too much money lost. The purpose of an education is to have a better life. His dad sounds like a smart man, the kind who would invest the money wisely. I say go and get better. He could get hurt but that could happen in college also, atleast he'll have a big money to back him up. Dapz to you my friend.

  17. Man, I always thought prep schools were where you took your bad /rich kids off to get an education and they wear uniforms. All this is new to me with basketball and prep schools. But yes I do know what drop dime means..hahahha
  18. Highland Junior College in Highland, Kansas This is the type of question that I think sets DV off about SETX and "not getting out" very much. First, Donahoe had an opportunity to sign with SFA and chose not to. So he could've played DI. He will play DI after one year at Highland. Second, 6 foot and 5'8" guards are a dime a dozen nationwide. If you are a 6 foot guard.......you better have something that separates you from everyone else in order to play at even the mid-major DI level. Most DI colleges won't even look at a 5'8" player.......especially a 5'8" shooting guard.........kind of the same deal as McGee getting drafted by the Cowboys and Harrell not getting drafted at all.........a lot of it has to do with whether or not you fit the prototype they are looking for.........and if you don't.....you better be able to do something super special that makes you worth the risk. And the key words here are "Super Special."
  19. Maybe Dickie can help answer this question: Stephen Jackson, Carmelo Anthony, and now a kid named Tiny Gallion attend Oak Hill Academy in Virginia.I was wondering with tuition being so high, how do they pay the tuition?
  20. ho-hum How many from HF going, Dove? Wait, I'll bet your answer is you are "not sure" how many are going this year but when that class of 2013-2015 graduates, there will be 5 or 6, right? Too early to tell if they are college player material. When the get that "guaranteed " state championship(s) there will be colleges interested. There you go. I've never said a guaranteed State championship. :-XDistrict title

  22. It is great knowing that you wish you or your child was at HJ winning championships instead of sitting at home once the playoffs start??? When was your last State Title in any sport??? ;D ;D ;D He lost in the first round of the district debate playoffs. You are so wrong!
  23. Please stop counting the cows and sheep in HJ 's district
  24. Have you factored in our baseball team for this season? Surely that will put us above HJ's ranking on this one sport alone, whereas HJ only has Basketball to tout it's horn.
