  1. True enough. There are some who are Southeast Texas good and a few others who are really good.
  2. That wil help D Frank, especially with his experience for next season.
  3. Thats it! Nothing else matter. All will head down I-10 and lose ;D
  4. Wow! I answered your question with the coach's name of interest (but i deleted) but it would not be fair to mention his or her name at the time. But I have thrown out some hints earlier this week 8)
  5. Whew! Thank you, I was about to correct him about Spears.
  6. What? You said it first? Typical Aggie :
  7. Ur exactly right Bluedove. However, these AAU coaches need to be realistic with parents and players and recommend that they play on the level they belong on. EX: Ryan Donahoe.........had full ride papers on his desk to SFA where he was told he would likely start his freshman year. His AAU coach recommended he hold out for bigger offers.............now he is completely out of school and basketball. These kids have great direction from their high school coaches but the AAU coaches lead them to believe they can play at a higher level in hopes that they do so that AAU coach will receive the credit and get more players in the future. THEY NEED TO BE MORE REALISTIC!!!!!!!!!! Thats why parents need to take a more active role in the recruiting process and your child's activities. Attend your kid's games. Everybody is on the sideline telling these kids how good they are and parents buy into the pimping process as well. Kids in elementary and middle school being flown across the country to play ball and staying in hotels just like college teams. It's easy to get caught up into it, but at the end of the day, you need to try and have reality checks about your ability as a player and whats truly important for your son or daughter as a parent. As a player and parent, you have to try and recognize the hype and the truth.
  8. Fellas, the majority of young men (parent's included) want those scholarships but here is another issue to factor in with the recruiting process. A lot of kids (and parents) want to be recruited by and play for the big D-1 schools. Its a simple fact no matter how you try and define it.
  9. This is not always true. Just because you have a successful high school career does not mean you are destined for a college career. The number of players making a successful jump to the next level drops in numbers as the weaker players are weeded out for various reasons. I don't know about small 3-A schools where everybody plays two sports, but you will see at larger school players not making the transition from junior high to senior high because of the competition. The same holds true from high school to college. There are guys with natural athletic ability but won't be able to make it because their mental game is not as strong to compete on the next level. I've seen guys lead the nation in college scoring but that doesn't mean they will get drafted by the pros.
  10. I'll be cheering for ya but I'm still jealous of your winning program over there.
  11. Well, at least I'm cheering for a HJ win in Austin this week. But thats about all you'll get from me for the rest of the week.
  12. I keep forgetting HJ stated this board. Defintely free promotions for years to come. LU should hire you guys (HJ) to promote their games/teams.
  13. :o What does that mean?! It means what I typed..............Silsbee is likely a better job, more athletes, more tradition and more recent success!!!!! Why would he leave Silsbee for Central...........now Ozen on the other hand??? Kenny!!!! shh-hhhhhhh!!!!!!!! :-X :-X :-X The real question is when is Sutherland or Williams leaving for Hamshire because they dang sure know that they don't have a chance against HF in 2012? I wonder if either of the schools will let them leave for just the 2012 season and then come back so they don't have to coach against that team??????????? ;D ;D ;D Time is definitely running out for Hardin-Jefferson. The boys start h.s. this Fal semester.I think Sutherland has earned the right to a 2-4 year leave of absence until the graduating class of 2015.
  14. :-X :-X :-X
  15. We'll come and break in the the new gym and the nets.
  16. I think it's March 22nd ...nothing wrong with a good butt whipping. I respect a player or team that get that butt whipped in order to get better. Sabine H.S.? 2-A? I use to think that was Sabine Pass. Thats a long way for a butt whipp'n
  17. You should be tired of it. The hj boys workout in a barn...........that is why they just played in their 3rd straight regional final and heading to their 2nd State tournament in 3 years. Maybe HF should try it!!!!! We'll be in the barn this summer in HJ
  18. Did you see what HJ's freshman did to HF's this year? While it sounds great to play a whole freshman or sophomore team on varsity there are rarely if ever an entire group of kids ready to play varsity before their junior seasons. If you look around at schools most have one freshman every 4 or 5 years on varsity and maybe 2 or 3 sophomores a year on varsity and these are at HIGHLY successful basketball schools. In other words not Hamshire Fannett. HF can do this if they would like but it takes having 4 grades of talented basketball players and selecting the best from each of those 4 grades. Having a good group of kids will only result in one good year most of the time. By the way..........I consider a good year a trip to the regional tournament. Just my opinion. Ah-hh exactly! Hamshire has a good group coming in next year (9th grade). They can probably beat the varsity now.Let them play varsity as 9th graders and get the experience. Then there are several talented players coming in the next two years to help with the more experienced 11th graders (the future 9th graders). I've experienced it and seen it done. HF would be a contender by time the next year 9th graders are in the 11th. By 12th grade, the seniors and juniors would win State 3-A Now that is funny!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't care who you are!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D You know, there a lot of Hamshire people on here. They see you laughing at our program and not taking us seriously. When I see Sutherland this summer, I'm going to personally tell him we're going to dominate the Hawks in 2-3 years. 8)
  19. hahahhahaha. Actually I was going to tell him how many teams were in his division and try to scare him off........call 713-539-1067....sheez!
  20. he called them nitwits?
  21. Registrations don't ever really close hen money is involved lol. What is it called? Okay-yy! What age group?
  22. There was one in Houston for next month but registration closed today.
  23. I might just bring a few boys out there this summer to work out with yall- where do yall workout? In the barn or the high school? I'm tired of all this talk 8)
  24. Questions, may I assume that you are an unsigned senior and you want to play in a showcase? And what kind of suggestions are you looking for? They should just hold this event at Hamshire Fannett..................right blue dove??????? : : Oh okay, now you've become the Unknown Comic
