I have heard that there have already been many advanced ticket requests!!! There are fans, bandwaggoners, college recruiters and even a man claiming to be from the Harlem Globetrotters coming to see "The Greatest Show on Earth" when they come to Sour Lake to play the Hawks on 1/30!!!! :o :o Better get your ticket early!!!! I am going to camp out near the HJ gym following the game on the 27th so that I can be in the gym to see this team play!!!!! Early lines out of Vegas have the Tigers as a 37 point favorite!!!!! : : : : This is why I can't like HJ. The attitude of a winner

Whats the kid's name that played for LU but transferred to Georgetown Univ. in the mid 90's? He was a good one who got away.

Question for someone familiar with the LU campus

Hmm? Are you sure you are ready for this? -
I haven't watched all the pg's who came through Lamar, but I did see Brown play and he was nice. But Dawkins! Oh my God! I've played against Mike Oliver once in the early 80's but i don't remember Oliver having moves and the quickness like Dawkins. I have all the respect for pg's who can score and still lead their games.

Good question! If there is a high skill level when the boys reach high school, we'll have to transfer from our district. :D Thanks

No, the SLC was founded in 1963 as a NAIA conference but has been a Division I conference since 1975. The LSC was founded in 1931, but there's a lot of former LCS schools in the SLC now. At least that's what Wikipedia says. Okay, maybe thats why I thought some of the SLC schools were in the LSC. Seems like SFA and maybe Sam Houston were in LSC. -

Wasn't the SLC once known as the Lone Star Conference? -
And my school (Wheatley) will be waiting down the road ;D

Times have really changed, there use to be a time when you would butt into grown people conversation, you would get punished. Usually I don't explain myself to youngsters but Boutte's loss equaled the loss of several players from your program. And even if Boutee was still there, Wheatley or Yates would end your season early in regional playoffs

Hmmm? This is a hard question to answer. Ozen lost their best players and things seem to be on the downward turn

Remember to take your medication and everything will be fine.

Wheres Dickie when I need him? Is this the beginning of the end of the Ozen dynasty? Will I not be able to discuss the reasons why Ozen will lose if they head I-10 West? Will there be a new district winner in 2009? -

Coaches are suppose to set an example for their players. -
I've seen the drawings for the soccer field, behind Beck Field.
-
And you have parents who bask in Little Johnny's accomplishments in 2 OR 3-A but don't have the skills to compete outside their comfort zones.

Go to : www.window.state.tx.us/scholars/schools/index.html It says Lamar University - Beaumont, not Lamar Beaumont. Ruckdad's point is that people still say Lamar - Port Arthur, Lamar - Orange and Lamar - Beaumont, as if they are at the same level. That all changed when the LU system merged with the Texas State system. Well at least he didn't say Lamar Tech!
-
Interesting, you all agree Hamshire-Fannett will come in winless and last place. But you can't decide on the other teams.

Sheez! Maybe Central has a chance this year to win district ;D -
I'm seeing a pattern develop here. None of you can agree on places 1st thru 4th, but you have no problem with agreeing that HF will finish in last place in the district.

Sounds more hope than reality ;D Nope. The reality is that Orangefield is not that good. Okay, let me find a seat and relax. Hah-hh, okay Bobcat05 it's your turn

I just thought it was kind of strange. I guess I can't ever remember a recruit saying they were going to one school and the next minute say (in the media)he had a couple more visits and maybe additional schools to consider. -
That can be a tough situation (sometimes a curse)for a young kid who is 6'0 plus and in middle school. Especially if he doesn't get the experience at playing the guard spot and always playing the post or forward. I've seen a handful of fathers who recognize the situation and if the kid is gifted enough with "handles," will get the exp. at the 1 or 2 spot.
