  1. Ah-hh hjhawks, this is an open forum to discuss current topics of interests. He has become a poster child. Hopefully we can learn from this and not see a repeat of this situation in our own sons or relatives.
  2. Yep, Lamar usually has a big crowd with a marquee name school comes in to entertain.
  3. mffl, you are always positive after a loss. As much as I like to "kid" and sometimes get you fellas shaken about LU, I still have to admire your attitude. But don't get all watery eyes because I'm still going to mess with yall about LU :P Well no point on dwelling on anything after it's over, you gotta move on, there's a lot of basketball left to be played, this should be nothing but a good experience for us. mffl, get over it please LU has no chance this season. You and three other people feel this way
  4. Dang Tiger! It's almost as if you and I are one
  5. YBL that weekend too? Hmm? I may need to cancel my LU game

  7. For me, it's not from a view I wish for him to fail at all. I've mainly expressed my opinions from an academic point of view, not basketball. Yes, he has become a poster child for some of us who are parents and maybe for the kids in the future who will hopefully learn from Brown's experiences. I'd love for this kid to overcome his hurdles. What a backdrop for an inspirational story.
  8. Okay, here is something else to consider and you may want to check on this, especially if someone on here is a UT student or recent grad. If you score low on the THEA or COMPASS (Test), UT will send their applicants to Austin Community College. Does UT offer any developmental classes to their students?
  9. Games with the big boys will help with conference play.
  10. Possibly a changing of the guards taking place in this district?
  11. As an athlete, one of the easiest tasks is to physically practice your sport. It's easy because there is a measurement entity involved in the process. For example, we can set our goals in practice to shoot 50 free throws and make a minimum of 45 shots. Now that's a routine one can see and measure. Telling an athlete to stay positive is easier said than done. Especially when one is about to meet a bigger and stronger foe. All of that being positive attitude can fly when you're on the court and they are all what you subconsciously knew in the beginning. In other words, LU already has a 10 point advantage as of Dec 6@12:02 p.m. Saturday morning. :
