  1. Are you a betting person? Whatcha got you wanna lose..err bet?
  2. Hahahaa! Okay, I wasn't trying to put Lamar down. Boy, I can say you guys stick up for LU even when all hope is lost. And the season just started. But seriously, I meant what I said on another thread, this is the fastest LU team I've seen since I moved to area some years ago. Go Ca-aaa! Go Car_r-r-r-! Okay give me alittle time and I might jump on board as a fan 8)
  3. He went to Central! Don't every make that mistake again! ;D ;D Where is Ivory now? When I last met/talk with him, he was going to train with a coach at UofH. Nice kid.
  4. Season is still too early to get excited right now.
  5. can you post a link to ul-l site? You might as well find the other school sites. I'm sure there are a lot schools who feel the same way about Lamar, as ULL.
  6. I was wondering what happened to Vidor. If he is the kid who I think it is, this is going to be a big loss for Vidor.
  7. Wow! Is this some improvement for Horn fans?
  8. Hey man don't you remember he got a job promotion on the show? Exec. Ass't. or something like that.
  9. Which is why you don't coach ;D Why not keep jay Brown in; who else does he have to replace him?
  10. We were talking about the 1-3-1 zone on another thread. Did Ozen play a full court 1-3-1 zone press or half court? You have the right personnel with 1-3-1 and you can kick some butt.
  11. Wow! I'm not familiar with the current USL team but if this team is very athletic, LU is going to have a hard time beating them. But lets hope LU is red hot with their jump shots.
  12. Nope. :...I will say this...If you could not attend a university due to grades in the fall, and you DONT attend a JC or prep school, how do you magically become eligible in January??? ???...I know what he SHOULD do, but we shall all see in January. Me? I never said he would be eligible for January. I was saying the kid was suppose to be taking classes to get his high school diploma. My take on the matter was that he was trying to bypass TAKS by attending a private school. Maybe we can get his "relative" to give us new information since they spoke out a few months ago about him going to UT.
  13. It will not be a long season for you because of the success of great programs such as Ozen, Silsbee, HJ, EC and Kountze..........it will be a long season for you because of the fact that you follow the HF program!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Now see, you know you are wrong for that but I can't get mad at cha because it's true ;D And while we're on the subject, I heard the basketball coach at the (????) school has the basketball players lifting weights in preparation for football next season. Sheez!
  14. Yeah i played this kid in little dribblers one time, the kid was a balla I saw him play for an AAU team during the summer and he looked a little out of place. But he can play ball. I'm just not sure how good after he starts to play guys at an age where they all mature and the playing field begins to level out.
  15. oH BOY! I had to put up with Ozen last season and now another year of winning for HJ. It's going to be a long season. :
  16. Oh no, Tommy never left Madison. In fact, word is that the kid got homesick when he went to Brazil to play during the summer. He also had his best friend to transfer to Madison before school started. It's also been reported that TMG sustained a hurt back a few weeks ago.
  17. What do you guys mean? Back from his injury after he hurt his back a few weeks ago? If Tommy is healthy, watch out Central or maybe you should postpone until after football.
  18. You know, I had two good friend to attend Sam Houston Tech back in the day. They wer eboth very good players but I never could understand why they picked Sam Houston
  19. MEMPHIS, Louisville and Kentucky will not match LU guards. They will overpower the LU guards along with their frontline. Games like these are good for low mid major schools like LU. It gives the players or should give players added confidence to compete in their conference play, where it really matters. If Roc contiunes to schedule these type of schools, it's going to look good for recruiting whenever they go after a big man who lacks D-1 skills, but is coachable and promising. Good moves by Roc.
  20. I'm not familiar with Liberty's team this year but I do know Liberty has a history of better athletes
  21. I guess I tend to look at young basketball players in a different light because I get exposed to so many different types and at various ages and development stages. Kids scoring 40 points in the 8th grade means it s due to a few things: a. They are a grade exception and playing younger kids b. They are truly in the 1% and are exceptional and talented basketball players c. They are grade exceptions and playing less talented kids I saw this kid play against older kids in a game and he didn't show me much. Maybe he had a bad game that one time I saw him.
  22. To make sure I'm on the same page with you guys, I'm talking about a full court 1-3-1- trap zone. As a player, I cannot express how much I hated that defense when Dickie Vitale's dad made us run it. You hustled as if you were playing two men at one time
  23. I really have to agree with you on this one. If this team can come out and hit their open shots and wear down the bigger teams with their spped, I think they have a chance. Also, there is no way LU can depend on Brown(?) hitting the boards for them without some help.
  24. Sorry, but when you experience an economic depression, you tend to save your money in pillow cases under the bed. I still remember 1988(?) and LU had a decent record. They quit football because the program was losing money.
