What else do you want from me? I said this team is one of the quickest teams I've seen since I've been watching LU off and on for the past 20 years. But you really can't judge this team based on the competition from last night. I've seen high school guards with better skills than those two point guards I saw last night.

Bob West: Lamar’s Woodard schedules Aggies for 2012 season

I wonder if there would be a huge fan support ( buses, etc) for games if LU scheduled teams like Rice, UH, SMU, Texas Tech, LSU, and other teams near Beaumont? -
WHOSE READY FOR THE GAME TONIGHT?!?!?!?!
BLUEDOVE3 replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Iguess we could say LU DID what they were suppose to do against a weaker team. The Louisiana team was a step or two above a high level high school team. But it was a good work-out for LU. I agree, it's hard to see how good this team is based on last night. The Freshmen looked good but I think they are in for a rough time against seasoned vets. Those guards for Louisiana were sad. I've always said if you have a little talent and book smarts, you can find a scholarship to play basketball. Those guards proved my point last night. -

A&M, Oklahoma State and TCU already do a fair job of filling the stands regardless of opponent...not sure how Lamar being there would boost attendance in College Station, Stillwater or Fort Worth. : Sorry, I meant LU home games whenever they schedule some of these schools for home games. -

He did call Okie State and LU is playing them in 2013, along with TCU. I like this aggressive scheduling. Not only will it help with recruiting, it should also help to keep local interest up, bring in much needed money to the program, and also help Lamar figure out if moving up to FBS would be worthwhile. This will defintely look good for the program and fill the stands for these games. -
Quickest LU team I've seen in a long time. Other than that, their season is going to be up and down. The team they played tonight must have been a low D111 school.

Okay, it's time for basketball again and a Houstonn forum brought up the question about the whereabouts of J'Covan Brown and what he is doing. Has anyone heard any new updates on the kid? From what I could piece together, the kid may have been attending private school to get his diploma.

Crowd-pleasing opener as LU pounds Wildcats

Good game tonight. Cards look faster than I've seen in 20 years of being in Beaumont. Granted, the Louisiana guards looked more like a high school guards, but overall the Cards took care of their business. -

I plan to be there tonight. I just need to see some basketball. I need it basketball. -
Alston runs the offense. He plays a key role for the Rockets at the point guard position. Every team needs a floor general and for right now, thats what he is; a floor general.

Man, I wait forever for the season to start and now I'm reminded that I'll have to listen to another Godly season of basking in the sun with HJ and Ozen. Sheez! I am so jealous of their success 8)

I hope you remember you have fill the stands to keep a program

Question about PN-G, Central Fight

Democrats = higher taxes, gun control, pro-abortion (unborn baby killing), re-distribution of wealth (socialism), socialized medicine, bigger government, anti military, gay marriage, anti freedom of religion....doesn't matter if he's white, black, purple, or green a vote for a Democrat is a vote against America and the belief system it was founded on. By the way, I was listening to 93.3 today and the black community (I think it is in Houston) is organizing a rally to support the first black president. They are encouraging everyone to wear BLACK to support a BLACK president. Is it just me, or is that overflowing with racism??? I'm happy to hear you were listening to a show about Black issues. That makes me feel good because I listen to shows all the time with White issues. You and I have found a common bond. Thats what America is all about. Now, was the group going to wear black and spew out racial hatred? -
T-Mac hit 27 last night against Phoenix didn't he? Could be he is not fully recovered from painful injuries. But I've never been a T-Mac fan.

I have a whole new understanding of respect towards Shaq-Fu now. All those wimpy guys pushing on each other and falling down. Shaq-Fu comes over and pushes both teams and just about all the refs down to the floor. Thats ended the scuffle right there. And I didn't see nobody get back up to push Shaq back down.

As a player, I always thought the 1-3-1 was the dumbest zone ever invented. Especially for the poor fella at the point of the zone. But when it's working, it's a work of art and a little luck.

Even if they were to schedule 5A\4A teams it could still happen. Finally!!!!!!!!!!! Basketball!!!!! Bobcat, now what grades do you keep up with/ And is that girls and boys, or girls only? Because I will be cheering HF as we roll through the season
-
Congrats girls..go take it to 'em

Wow! This is not good news for the Beaumont and other local teams, but I think this tournament is about to grow and certainly some exposure opportunity for the university.
-
Thank God basketball is here. I was about to lose it a few weeks ago. Man I'd go watch biddy basketball if they were playing

Thats good news! I hope this is true. But good points.
