No, Marsh may or may not play AAU ball. But my point is that Marsh may be the man at 2A Hardin, but outside of Hardin, obviously he wasn't looked at seriously by the Gamble camp as a 6'2" post. Again, too many times we make these kids out to be more than what they are sometimes. Once out of their comfort zones, the truth comes out concerning their real talent.

'Dickie V', your statement about says there is no way a 6'2 class 2A post player is going to be chosen for the Gamble team. Question, at 1-inch taller, you have Devin Brey from Kountze(2A); plays in the post; are you saying that as a Junior/Senior in the years to come, he has NO chance to make the "Gamble" team? Carry on.... People!!!! I keep repeating here! You gotta get out of Southeast Texas and see the other side of the Mississippi River. I just got back from an All-Southern Elite AAU Tournament and major teams from Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, TN, etc were playing 17u, 16u, 15u, etc. 6'2"???????????? Please! The average post size was 6'8". I repeat..average size.............. What is the meaning of this post? I am quite sure most people would know if you take the ELITE players from mutiple states and not just an area the size of Southeast Texas, you're going to get that type of size. I don't think anyone is debating that here. Just what is your point? There were some comments on a kid from Hardin who at 6'2" plays the post. Let me explain my comments to you in simple terms. There is a concept called 'King of the Hill" where people remain in a comfort zone and not really compete against the big dogs to see how good their skills really are. Giving props to a kid in a 2-A division (6'2" post) and why he wasn't picked to play in an all-star game are obvious. Totally different level of play.

Be careful what you ask for! Not too many teams can fill seats losing games.

They will automatically be dominant in their weak district. They will be right there in the mix to Austin. Thats almost a given fact. Its' also a given fact I will be right here next season repeating what I said this season about Ozen ;D

Ozen will win district or co-champs. Go on to regionals and falter.

As I stated earlier, this si why the applicant process was started again. LU HR does not feel comfortable when the pool is small, even though they may have already picked who they want :-X

Lamar would be lucky to win 2 games the first year. It's a building process with experience, mental maturity, talent, etc. It will be easier to recruit local talent to fit into football than basketball. Basketball takes more development skill and smarts. Oh yeah, I broke the news about the hiring process before the papers.

I do not recall a time in the last 10 years where the SWAC was above the SLC in terms of football. Even in McNeese's lean years, they knocked off the "Black College National Champions" (just as mythical as the BCS title) from Southern...Nicholls and SLU even took SWAC squads to task... You must have low expectations of your Lamar FB program... I have low expectations for the program for the first 3 years. After that, there are no more excuses.

I knew there was a reason why LU fans felt so strong about their teams. I remember liking this cheerleader in high school. I was only able to go so far (but so close) with her. It made me think I always had a chance with her, but it never happened. It took me awhile before I moved on. So maybe Lamar should go into the SWAC. LU would dominate basketball but not football.

He may already have his pick. I suspect the first bach of applicants didn't meet some sort of guideline thats monitored by HR.

Don't over react... As noted before on this board, "All posted classified positions must be advertised a minimum of five (5) working days before a job offer can be made. All professional, non-classified and faculty positions shall be open for a minimum of ten (10) days." This position is posted and after the time frame in which they are required to keep the position open for, they put until filled...which is just the usual way things work. The reality of this is that a new packet of potentials were picked up today for additional ;)review.
