UTA vs. Memphis/Memphis Wins By 24!
BLUEDOVE3 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
This was so long ago but Malone hurt a player from one of the Houston schools. It was either Houston or Rice........ :-\ -
I agree. We (We? Sheez, I've been in Southeast Texas too-oo long-gg) have no control over that decision, but at least give us the area north of Lufkin.

Okay give us a harder question. You are always trying to give LU props on everything : -
WILL THEY RELEASE THE LIST OF APPLICANTS FOR FOOTBALL JOB?
BLUEDOVE3 replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Okay, I really couldn't help it. Lord forgive me. Hey , the man end here with a winning season. -
Excellent observation. We should make the people over there at the MC accountable. Too much business out there to let the MC just sit there. I would be first in line to offer my facilities to UIL for regional playoffs, bi-district play, championship tournments, etc. It gives the kids a chance to see a very nice facility.

Karl Malone was slighted by LSU when he was coming out of high school. Now you're beginning to step into places you know nothing about. Welcome to my home turf. Malone wasn't well known outside of his hometown. -
No, MB is cool with me. She markets the athletic programs reserved for the center. She doesn't go out and solitcit business, does she? Ooops!

The guys you are mentioning just happened to have an ability to play at the next level LATER ON in their college careers and took advantage of their talents. You go to the Big 12, SEC, etc to be seen/exposed. Dumars was happy just to get a scholarship to play. Those guys developed in college and that made them the players they became. -
Montagne gets passed by more than you guys (?) realize. Venues from Houston bypass this area and would rather go to Lafayette and use their facilities. The majority of the time the Montagne is sitting there gathering dust and grease from Mobil Chemicals. Granted, its an excellent place to play ball. You would also think it would have been an excellent recruiting tool. But your top players still run as fast as they can away from it. Whats' missing is a marketing director to fill up the center at least every 3 months. Ooops! But I forgot, you have that other building on I-10 thats taking business away from the Montagne Center.

Gosh! This is why this forum is so great. Different opinions all the time. See, this is where we differ. I'm a realist and your a dreamer. I know they will be good but you wish for them to be great! :

2008 Southeast Texas Rounball Classic -April 4,5,& 6th

From what I was told yesterday, there are several teams from Houston coming. I don't know their names. -
As I remain on topic :, there should be plans to add additional parking via a multi level parking garage. provided LU can get back to it's glory days. But LU officials have been burned in the past for thinking too far ahead, i.e., Montagne Center .

Challenge: ALL TIME GOLDEN TRIANGLE TEAM

I found the culprits. They are "AggiesAreWe" and "Bluedoves3". ???I'm innocent bro! -
I have always liked the women's program, except for when they brought in those strong-arm brutes from Australia back in the 90's. They were good for roughing up players only. I'm expecting good things from the Lady Cardinals next season.
-
Actually, LU's enrollment has improved because of quality dorms. Once they were built, the enrollment from Houston and the surrounding areas increased. Not taking anything from Simmons, but a ot of things were already in the making (Master Plan) before he took office.

Crushing Alabama in NCAA toughens scheduling for LU
BLUEDOVE3 replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It's not just LU. Ozen is included too As I have said before, I like Ozen and LU sports. I think both have very good high school programs. I just enjoy taking a different approach. Actually I'm very well connected to LU sports 8) I like messing with LU fans. -
"Report says success on fields, courts means more applications" Interesing article in the Bmt. Enterprise that says there is some validity to a belief among college admission officials that the better their schools' teams do in high profile sporting venues, the more applicants apply. I remember back in my dy poor Texas A&M was a fledging little prairie school. After a Cotton Bowl or two, the enrollment went up. Maybe LU can repeat the same 8)

You could be correct on this one. Maybe time has made the community aware how bad we need a college football team for the area.

Do you post these negative comments without even bothering to read anything? Abovetherim's 2nd comment is: Just because this is an old article (and Bob West runs an old article every Friday) doesn't mean it's not relevant today or we all wish this was the 80's again. Try putting some thought into your posts instead of just being a jerk. I read the post and I stand by my comments. No need to call me names -

Oh My God! It'd really getting bad in here now. You guys are digging up the archives and wishing for the past. I lied, history does not always repeat itself. It's over, turn off the lights because LU's glory days are way over. They struggle in the Southland Conf. :-[ -
I hope so. AND - I like what I see about Coach Tidwell and his staff. There has been much discussion about not recruiting locally. There are X number of scholarships available and you HAVE TO trust the coaching staff to recruit and offer rides to those they believe will fill the team's needs. That being said, I sure wish we could get K K Little on the squad in whatever way it takes. Ang Green is your local talent. You're not going to get too many signed from this area, even for A sOUTHLAND Conference school.
