  1. Brother as in we lived under the same roof and share a mother and father...yes, my brother. I come from a family of basketball coaches. Gee Dickie, your dad has known me longer than he has known you
  2. In all my years of playing and now watching my kids play, I have never complained about refs. You have to make adjustments whether mentally or physically to their calls. A win or lost is just what it is.
  3. man i was a soph. we were at school when they went to halftime i swear we were all shocked. Dickie, I thought maybe you were joking about this game. Your dad must have gone senile in his older years. He never coached like that in his younger days with us. We ran up and down the floor running up the score.
  4. I arrived in Bmt. right after Tom left. What did his mouth say?
  5. I know everyone is excited but I wonder if the fan base will be there late into the season.?
  6. First of all, I am not a BH or Central fan and could care less about the game. It was terrible defense. They had the kid in a trap and all you see is one of the defensive kids with his hands high and the offensive kid is dribbling the game. Good grief, thats basic basketball 101. But I give it to #2 (?) for a good heads up play.
  7. Wow! What an ending but terrible defense.
  8. Sounds like a lack of discipline on Central's behalf. Dickie, thats one thing I can say about your father, back in the day, he demanded discipline from his teams.
  9. Yates! Oops! Ii meant Calvin's team.
  10. :... I agree Dickie. Sad time for McDonald's AA I guess I shouldn't let the AAU circuit surprise me anymore since my kids play it. But are you saying this kid was picked through his AAU performance and not the high school stats? You mean to say McDonald ALL-American has slithered down this low? Yeah, that is why I have issue with it...To be named McDonalds AA, you should be a intragal part of your HIGH SCHOOL TEAM...This year he was not..But was still selected...THAT, I have issue with because a kid like Tremain who exhibited ALL of the qualities of a McDonalds AA, was only nominated...I DO have an issue with that..
  11. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to go through another season of listening to parents explain why little johnny is so good in baseball and basketball is just his past time.

  13. By, george, I think he's got it!! Yeah Dick, as I was writing I began to think about some average and not so average players I've known in my lifetime and it was the system that made us...errrr them look good ;D
  14. Question, I'd like yall opinions on why Ozen continues to produce good basketball teams? I see the young kids playing and they are good athletes. But maybe it's the system at Ozen that brings out the better in them.
  15. I often wonder about situations like this. He may have had his house foreclosed and we're thinking he's broke, well he may be broke for his current lifestyle he's living. But the man may have one million in the bank.
  16. True, Ozen may not make it that far into the playoffs. ;D
  17. Sheez! It seemed like a few weeks ago I was dying for the basketball season to start and it's bi-district already?
  18. hEY GUYS, keep us posted on the Little Dribblers pre-tourneys coming up. I'm curious if Kountze will be tough again this year, in juniors and majors
  19. Probably the reason why I saw Ozen's star player playing pick-up games at the local YMCA Monday night. lol at bluedove which player are you referring to?? I hate to bust people out like that, but kid over 5'9" with black hair between 150 - 200 pounds. You know, the one that plays good "D" but quite "FRANKLY" is one hellava player
  20. Dang Dickie! You making me proud of you, boy! M&W did some good child rearing with you and L. Good response.
  21. Let the kid play! Fogo sounds like my son's AAU coach. My son's team has a bad apple on the team and he is the star of the team and apparently has a bad home situation too. The kid throws temper tantrums but he isn't learning about consequences. At least Brown has suffered :-\ a little bit, and you always want to believe a kid or a person is learning from their mistakes. Something in the back of my mind says, " the kid can get better."

  23. Hmm! I knew you still had a feeling for Waltrip Rams.
